Chapter 6: Fake boyfriend

The two girls arrive at the same time, Kathleen's father is a well-known lawyer in the city, he is wealthy and powerful, and the two girls come from a wealthy family. 

The two almost have the same life, coming from a rich home, having a sister who doesn't love them, and having a cheating boyfriend but the difference is, that Kathleen doesn't believe in love, she believes in having any man she wants while Barbara believes that relationship should be base on love. 

"Hey, beautiful!" 

Kathleen said as she approached Barbara grabbing her into the club, the club is very busy, it's a weekend, and it's always like that during the weekend, many people want to have fun from the week's stress. 

"Hi, handsome!"

"Silly, I am not a man."

"Then stop admiring me, like one." Kathleen laughed at her silly joke, and the two grabbed a seat, as soon as they entered, a couple of boys approached them but Barbara was not in the mood for dancing today, which was her thing 

"Come on let's dance, are you still sulky because of Derrick?" 

"Oh please, I have a bigger issue than Derrick." 

"Bigger issue? Did the boy, you punch come after you?" 

"Oh keep quiet, he won't dare, or Maybe he wants another punch in his right eye," Kathleen smirked at her naughtiness. "Why did you even punch him?" 

"The jerk said my boyfriend should cheat on me with my sister." 

"It's not his fault, he just said the obvious." "That isn't funny." 

"I give up!" She raised her hand in surrender. "But the truth is, everyone knows that Derrick is a jerk except you." 

"Really?" 

"Yes, Derrick went after everything on a skirt, and his closeness with Claudia was suspicious but you keep saying, he was your family friend before you two started dating and now see what the jerk had done." 

"I was such a fool to think that he loved me and that all the other girls around were just throwing themselves at him."

"Oh please, he is the one going after them and he just keeps saying that girls fall in love with him because he is very handsome, who told him that lie? He is not even handsome, and he is not close to my man crush, when it comes to look, charm, charisma, and wealth, his fashion sense is mind-blowing. You need to see him, the few times he appeared on the screen, he was so captivating."

Barbara placed her hand under her chin, to watch as Kathleen kept praising her man crush, Dante is the one man that she kept praising

"Why are you staring at me like that?" 

"I was just thinking, the last time, you went hiking, you were crushing on a boy, what is his name again?" She taps her cheek with one of her fingers. "You didn't even get his name, so you have to move from him to..."

"CEO Dante is the latest, he is handsome, he is eligible, and he is super husband material."

"Have you finished?"

"Of course not, if I am to..."

"Stop talking nonsense, I need a boyfriend." 

"Boyfriend? So fast." 

"Not a boyfriend, like a fake boyfriend."

"Are you kidding me?" 

"Of course, not. Can you see my teeth?" Barbara presses her lips together while asking her that. 

"No, but what's up with the fake boyfriend, if I may use your words?" 

"Dad is having a ball and Grandpa is coming but for crying out loud, why do they always want to party?" 

"Silly, you always enjoy it." 

"That was before when I had that jerk of a boyfriend." Another round of laughter follows. "Stop laughing, I need to get a boyfriend." 

"Fine, let's see if we could get one here at the club."

"Kathleen, are you crazy? How could I pick just some random boy?" 

"Oh! Do you want to pick the one you know?' 

"I haven't..." Her phone rang that minute, it was from Jeffrey, Jeffrey happened to be one of their friend, the only guy among the two girls, his father is a retired general, but the family is into textiles as well, and they are also wealthy. 

The rich always mingle with the rich, she picks the call. 

"Hey Jeff, why are you calling late?" 

"Where are you? The music is too loud."

"At the club, are you back?" 

"Not really, but I am sure I will return by next week, so what's up with the club?" 

"It's fine, just want to hang out with this naughty Kathleen." 

"Say hi to her!"

"Don't worry about her, she doesn't need one." Jeffrey laughed at Barbara's naughtiness, her naughtiness and bravery were some of the things, that attracted him to her, even though they were just friends, he had bottle Feelings for her unknown to Barbara, the night Derrick asked her to be his girlfriend was the same night he had planned of telling her, his feelings but he didn't push through because he saw Derrick kissing her and she seems so in love with Derrick he just let his Feelings at Bay while Barbara on the other hand just see him as her big brother.

"So when are you coming back?' 

"By next weekend, I should be back." 

"Alright, hope to get a treat from you. You should know what I want."

"Of course, anything for my baby, I better go before you spoil my eardrum"

"Bye, love," Barbara said as the line died off. "Naughty Jeff." She raised her head only to see Kathleen smiling like an idiot. 

"Hey idiot, what's up with the smiling?" 

"Why look for a boyfriend, when you already have one?" Barbara looks behind her and then looks at her. 

"Jeffrey!"

"You are crazy, very crazy to think that."

"Come on, Jeff is a very handsome man, he has money, and he is the CEO of Tian's Textile Corporation."

"Kathleen, just keep quiet if you don't have anything meaningful to say."

"But..."

"He is like my brother, and telling him to act like my boyfriend is going to make Claudia laugh at me, you should know that no one will believe me if I introduce him as my boyfriend, just think of something meaningful." 

"Fine, I give up." She said but her eyes were still on her phone. 

'What the hell is wrong with you?"

"Nothing, I am just looking at my lovely crush." 

"You crazy idiot, you crush on anything handsome, you don't even know what you want in your love life." 

"Whatever, love is a waste of time, just go on and enjoy yourself, like a one-night stand." 

"If you don't shut up, I will pierce a knife down your throat." 

"Whoa! I just got an idea." Kathleen yelled making Barbara look at her. I just saw some ads!" 

"About what?" 

She pushed the phone to her front, Barbara's eyes bulged out as soon as he saw it.
