67. Wrong information

"I call the meeting to order."

Lia wasn't fazed at all.

The person to her right who had spoken to her earlier was the first one to speak.

"I declare the first course of action to choose a new director."

"You go ahead."

Lia spoke.

Well, no one expected that.

"As we all know, Mr. Aster Brooks has sixty percent of shares with him. But he is not here now. And we don't accept you, his wife, as our director on his behalf. So we want to elect one among us."

Lia didn't know if this was right. But she understood that they wanted a Brooks family member to be a director or a person chosen by themselves.

"I have the remaining forty shares represented by me."

Lia understood that they want to take the helm of the company. Was it that easy?

"So I am the new director."

He rose from his chair and stood before Lia.

"Mrs. Brooks, I believe that chair belongs to me."

Lia smiled at him.

"We didn't have a show of hands."

The middle-aged man fumed.

"I have signed papers with me."
