Never Underestimate

“Robert,” I called him before stepping out of the box.

    “Yes sir,” he said and ran to me. We both walked out of the hotel and Robert ran to my side.

    “Sir, that girl is looking at us leaving from the other corner,” Robert whispered in my ears.

    “I have already seen it. Keep silent and walk out with me and you already know what to do,” I answered and he nodded his head.

 

     We both entered the car and left there. 

     “Sir, something is audible,” Robert said and connected it to the speaker in the car.

     That girl is calling someone and we are hearing the conversation.

     “Hello sir, good morning, it's me,” She greeted someone.

      “I know it was you, you don’t need to remind me again and again,” the other person answered. I felt we heard this voice somewhere.

 

      “Sir,” she paused without saying anything.

      “What? Did the work complete? Are you successful in gathering any information or did you get his laptop?” He questioned her, which confused me.

      “No sir, but why his laptop?” She asked him.

      “I have my works with it. Why didn’t you complete your work till now?” He barked at her like a dog.

      Then that girl explained everything and after hearing it there is silence for a few minutes and then he answered,

     “Resign there and come back. There is no use working there anymore.”

     “Sir, this is my only job to feed my family. Please leave my brother, sir. He needs treatment, I have done what you asked me to,” she said.

     “He won’t be released nor be treated. You are not successful in completing your task,” he said curtly.

     “S..s..sir, pl..ease, he doesn’t know anything..he..is…in..coma..fr..om last months. I..beg..you sir, pl…ease..pardon me,” she started pleading with him still crying.

    “I will give you another chance. Get his laptop in the next two days. Then I will leave your brother until then he will be in my captive,” he said, and when she was about to say something he hang up the call without hearing her.

   “Sir, sir,” she called two or three times and then we heard a thud sound.

   “Why you are doing this with us lord? We didn’t harm anyone. First, my father and elder brother met with an accident, and you took our father away. Our lives went upside down. We stayed on empty stomach. I managed to get a part-time job but the money I earned is not enough for my brother’s treatment. After working hard a lot I was able to gather some experience and then found this job. I don’t even know who is this person he kidnapped my brother and tortured me to complete this work. Today morning when I entered their box his vibe is so scary. I felt a chill running down my spine. I don’t understand why he let me go and I felt something is wrong and now again this. What are you planning to do with me? Even though after all these things I won’t blame you, please show me a way so I can save my brother,” She said to herself, and hearing those words, we got clarification on why she is doing this and my observation is right.

**    After that, we heard some sounds of sniffing indicating that she was crying. He turned off the Bluetooth after finalising there was nothing to hear.

   “One thing was clear. She isn’t bad but dancing according to the tunes played by someone else,” Robert said, and I nodded my head.

    “I don’t understand one thing. Why he is back after your laptop,” Robert expressed his doubt while keeping his hand in his hair and his expression saying that he is confused.

    “First stop pulling your hair like that. I already got why he is doing this,” I said coolly.

    “You know the reason?” He questioned me with his mouth wide open.

    “First stop giving weird expressions,” I said and slapped him on his shoulder.

    “What did you understand, sir? What might be the reason?” Robert questioned.

    “Are you really doing as my assistant? How could I make such a dumbass as my assistant?” I said and he rolled his eyes hearing it.

    “Aaaaa, stop behaving like a girl or else I have to think properly about your gender,” I warned him and by hearing it he applied the break suddenly and because of our seat belts we if not otherwise by now something else would have happened.

     “Sir. are you really fine? Or shall I take you to the hospital?” Robert questioned.

    “Hospital? For what? Can’t you see me?” I questioned him.

    “Then how you are talking today? I know you from our college time but I have never seen talking like this,” Robert explained.

    “Oh,” I said and stayed calm.

    “You didn’t said me why he wants your laptop and why don’t you say it,” Robert asked.

    “The upcoming project is so prestigious and the company that gets it is like rewriting history. Mostly, every big, medium and small company is also taking part in it and you already know all these. As you know our company is also trying for it some of the companies want to get the information regarding it,” I paused for a second and he was listening to it in silence and then I continued,

    “So the person is thinking I will keep all the data in my laptop. But I think he doesn't know about Xavier Hunter and what he is or might be forgotten about me,” I said with an evil smirk on my face.

    “Hahahahah,” he burst into laughter.
