Family emotions are just melodrama

"That's like my baby," Mrs. Parker said, which made Julia chuckle.

Ok, mom, how is dad?" Julia questioned her mother, diverting her attention away from the topic.

"He is doing great. He’s missing you," Mrs. Paraker answered.

"How is Dad's health, Mom?" Julia inquired again, suspecting that her mother was concealing something from her.

She heard Mrs. Parker's cheerful voice from the other end of the call, and she stated happily, "No need to lie in front of you. He is perfectly fine, and a while ago we were discussing you," she explained.

Julia experienced an overwhelming range of feelings after learning that her parents are missing her and that she, in turn, is missing her parents. Due to the conflicting feelings she was experiencing, she did not dare to speak for fear that she might lose it in front of her mother. She kept her mouth shut out of fear.
