Inside the private room, Elaine stared straight at Calvin, her hands tightly clenched under the table. She said, "I overheard your conversation with Mason. I want to say, please pretend you didn't hear anything. Mason is trying to protect me, but I don't want to involve you."

"Do you have someone you like?" Calvin stared at her and calmly asked.

Calvin smiled and said, "That's good. Since you don't have anyone you like, then be my girlfriend. I may not have grand ambitions, but I have a good character. I may not be the best man in the world, but I will do my best to treat you well."
