unpleasant memories

I sat down in my car with Ayla beside me crying, while I was just staring in the space feeling overwhelmed with emotions surging from here to there in me. I still can't believe that someone tried to kill me, I don't want to believe it but that's the truth, perhaps I would have been dead by now if De Lucas didn't shoot down that guy, I couldn't help but wonder who sent him.

"Jaxon, I'm scared" she cried, hugging me tightly with her body shaking in mine as she cried on my chest while I hugged her back.

"Don't be, I'm here and I'm fine" I said trying to assure myself instead of her.

"This is just too much to take in, someone tried to kill you tonight, Jaxon" she cried and my heart squeezed in pain and hurt as I blinked back my tears, I had to stay strong if not for anyone but for the fragile woman in my hands.

"I was not the only one in that place, it could have been anyone. Who knows?" I asked with a shrug.
