He looked down with a sigh “didn’t I tell you to stay with the babies? He asked Kate. Kate looked guilty, like a child whose parents caught her while stealing the candy. 

Kate rubbed her sweaty hands together and smiled like a fool, but inside her head, she was looking for a perfect excuse.  

David could read her mind; he stroked her little head and smiled "why didn't you come inside, instead of hiding behind the door? 

He asked with a teasing smile; Kate could tell he was joking and teasing her. She stood straight and looked at him arrogantly.

"Who said I'm here to peek at you? I was passing by," she had already turned around. About to walk away like a proud queen,
