He took her upstairs and stopped in front of the room besides their bedroom. It was an empty room; David kept it locked; he never said why he always kept the room locked.

Kate also never asked; she is a lazy lady, she sometimes feels. The whole mansion was too big for her to roam around. 

When David stays at home, either they remain inside their bedroom or downstairs, sometimes go for a walk in the garden, when he is at home, most of the time he sticks with her.

David opened the door with a fingerprint; he pushed open the door; it was dark; the curtains were closed so that they could see nothing inside the room; 

David put down Kate and switched on the curtains; slowly, the room brightened up as the curtains opened.
