Noah's POV.

“Oh, you never mentioned that,” she said, turning to look at me.

I had wanted to tell her about my lunch with the investors, but she seemed preoccupied, lost in thoughts, and stressed out lately.

So I decided to keep the information to myself.

“I guess I forgot,” I said with a shrug, then stood up, walked to the dressing table, and sprayed a mix of Dior and Chanel perfumes. After that, I approached her and placed a soft kiss on her forehead.

Noticing how shy she became after the kiss, it was clear she hadn’t gotten over the tension between us from last night. I decided to let her be for a moment, but soon I saw her shyness shift to worry.

Her brows furrowed, and her gaze dropped. Just as I was about to ask what was wrong, she spoke up first.

“Are you okay? You seem stressed.” She asked, lifting her hands to cup my face.

A low smile crept onto my face. She had been quite busy lately, and at first, I thought it was because being here made her miss Ken. I imagined she was u

Ken's POV:Mirabelle has occupied my thoughts for the past two days. In my dreams, she was there, and while awake, her voice seemed to echo all around me.I miss her! When I called Father last night to tell him about Noah, he didn’t seem particularly angry about what had happened. Instead, he was more focused on seeing his dear son, Noah Sylvester, for the first time in five years.Taking a deep breath, I got up from the side of my bed and walked to the table. For reasons I couldn’t explain, a voice in my head urged me to call Noah. I needed to state my claim to let him know I was now his competition and that I was willing to go to great lengths to win Mirabelle back.I quickly grabbed my phone from the table and dialed Noah’s number, holding onto a thread of hope that it was still in use.Fortunately, the line rang, and my next prayer was that he would pick up.And surprisingly he did.“What do you want?” His voice came in, rudely.“I guess an introduction is not needed?” I asked.“I

I hope he has no intention of pursuing a brotherly relationship with me.“Why does that piece of information matter to you?” I asked.I heard him let out a deep sigh, as though my words got him irritated. “It's not necessary to answer my question with a question. Regardless, I called because I wanted us to meet. It's really important.”Smiling widely. “I would have asked why, but it’s not important. Because I’m almost at the office, and to avoid any unnecessary scuffle, I can’t invite you to see me there. Also because, while you may not understand the seriousness of work, I do. You know what I mean?” I asked, chucking loudly.I

Ken's POV:The repeated honking jolted me from a deep sleep. I opened my eyes to find myself asleep in a car. No!Fuck, I had an accident.I was still trying to gather my thoughts when someone suddenly approached the car, banging on the window. Sighing, I rolled the window down to see the man standing there. He was a bulky, middle-aged guy with pale skin, dressed in a vintage outfit.“Thanks for checking on, but I’m okay. I guess I just blacked out for a bit,” I said, forcing a smile.“Checking on you?” he asked, and I nodded. “Son, you just crashed my car. You need to call your mechanic to come pick it up and get it fixed.”Crashed his car? How? I wondered as I looked ahead and noticed the vehicle parked right in front of mine. I quickly got out, brushing the man aside as I ran to the front. It hit me hard: I hadn’t just crashed his car—I had wrecked mine too.Mine was a fucking rental car, so how on earth was I going to afford to pay for the repairs on both cars?Turning to face th

Mirabelle’s POV:Noah had promised to take me to the mall to shop for the clothes I'd wear to dinner and to also pick up gifts for his parents. But now, it's past 7, and he's still not home. When I called him earlier, he said he was stuck at work.I quickly texted him, asking him to grab some diffusers and scented candles on his way back—it seemed like the most thoughtful and sensible gift for an elderly person. After texting Noah, I went to the room where the kids had gathered. They had gotten back from school earlier, but I was a bit occupied with an online meeting so I couldn't play with them all day.Mika was the first to spot me and practically flew into my arms, a wide smile on her face, though I could already see the hint of disappointment when she saw me walk in instead of Noah.“Such a daddy’s girl,” I said to myself, holding my laughter But sometimes, I think she just needs a hug, no matter who gives it. Mirabelle's POV:The next morning, Noah had already left for work. Since I’d come back, I hadn’t yet made it to my company. I finally had a chance today, and I was eager to see what my office looked like. When I arrived, I wasn’t exactly pleased with what I saw. So I pulled out my phone and called a couple of interior decorators, to make some adjustments. The day passed faster than I expected, and soon enough, night had fallen. I found myself in our room, struggling with the beautiful black dress Noah had gifted me, trying to zip it up. By the time I managed it, he had already gone downstairs, loaded the gifts into the car, and was waiting patiently for me in the sitting room.Taking one last look in the mirror, I felt a mix of excitement because the dress hugged me perfectly.I walked down the stairs, feeling my heart race as I saw Noah waiting below. He looked up as I descended, and the way his gaze softened and brightened. It made me feel beautiful.“Mummy, you look beautiful!” Ty

Mirabelle's POV:Kneeling before me, he asked. “You only do something this crazy when someone gets you really angry or sad. So tell me, what happened while I was away?” “N-nothing happened,” I replied, forcing out a smile.“You don't have to lie to me; just tell me what happened while I was away.” He insisted. How the hell do I tell him that I bailed out Ken from prison? What if he gets upset?I mean, he has always been supportive, but this was just insane.“What the hell happened? Why do you look so bothered?” He asked for the third time.I avoided his gaze, trying to force a smile. “I’m fine, Noah. Just... a lot on my mind.” He moved closer, searching my eyes. “You know you can tell me anything, right? Whatever it is, I’m here for you.”I swallowed hard. How can I explain it? “It’s just... you wouldn’t believe me if I told you.”“Try me.” He urged.I hesitated. “Actually, I was thinking about the contract with Ken.”His brow furrowed. “Is that what’s been bothering you? Mirabelle’s POV:“You’ve always been so proud of Noah, haven’t you, Michael?” Caitlyn said as she turned to Michael. “But I’m sure you must be ashamed of him now.”I glanced around the dining room before finally focusing on Noah. He had always been the reserved one—calm, skeptical, and composed. He spoke only when necessary, or when he sensed I was being insulted.I was usually the one throwing out harsh words, but tonight, Noah was on fire. It felt intriguing, though; perhaps he was simply fed up with Caitlyn and Ken's antics.“I must have made a good impact on him,” I thought, smiling widely as I sipped my champagne.Noah suddenly leaned forward. “It’s no wonder you feel such affection for Mitchelle, Caitlyn. Just like you, she managed to worm her way into someone else’s home. But unlike you, she wasn’t bold enough to have an illegitimate child with that man, as you did with my father.” He shot back. The impact of his words surprised everyone, including me. “Enough!” Michael yelled

Noah's POV:I didn’t want to leave Mirabelle alone with them, but I had no choice—I needed to hear what my father had to say.Besides, I have no reason to be concerned. I’ve known Mira for a long time, and one thing I've learned about her is that she never backs down when people treat her poorly. So she will definitely be able to handle them.I followed my father silently through the corridors until we reached his study. He pushed the door open and stepped inside.Taking a deep breath, I entered and shut the door behind me with a thud.“What do you want to talk about?” I asked. He took his time, walking over to the table at the center then he sat down. I took a seat across from him and repeated my question. “What do you want to talk about?”“Did you marry her because you love her, or was it just to spite your brother?” he asked, locking eyes with me.“I have nothing against Ken. Why would I take such a drastic step just to annoy him?” I replied, tilting my head to the side.“Then I g

Looking up, I saw it was the cook in her white apron and cap. Sighing deeply, I asked, “Where is he? Please tell me you found him.”“I couldn’t find him, Ma'am,” She replied, her head hung low. “This house is huge; he could be anywhere. I had the maids search everywhere for him. We’ll find him soon, I promise.”“I hope so, Lola. Xavier is on his way back, and he hates it when his rest is disturbed.”“Don’t worry, ma'am. We’ll definitely find him before Sir returns, trust me…”“I found him!” Someone called out, and we hurried toward the voice. We entered the library and saw a maid standing by the door.“Where is he?” I asked.“Behind the third shelf,” She replied curtly. “You both can leave now,” I instructed. “And please shut the door behind you.”I moved behind the third shelf to find my sweet pie crouched down, his head hanging low.“What's

I asked, still struggling with the seal.“Divorce papers!” He replied and my hands froze in the air.“Y-you are kidding right?”“Do I look like I came all the way here to joke?” He asked, sounding all serious and impatient. Tears filled my eyes as I looked at the man I called my husband. “Why are you doing this to me, Simon? What have I ever done to you to deserve this?”“Honestly, I can’t believe you’re asking me this right now,” He began. “Marilyn is stuck in a wheelchair for God knows how long, and she has a severe brain injury that I can only pray she recovers from. And you're asking me what you've done to deserve this when you actually deserve more!”“So this is all because of Marilyn huh?” I asked, staring deeply at him. “I am telling you I didn't push her off the fucking stairs. She fell while trying to push me down.”“Why should I believe you?” He sneered

He came back home extremely happy and drunk, and that night we had sex for the very first time. The next morning when he woke up he hated me more, he claimed that I took advantage of his drunken state to have my way with him.How did that one night together result in pregnancy?‘Simon needs to know about this, he will come for me the moment he finds out that I am pregnant with his child.’ I thought.“She is awake.” I heard a male voice announce. Under arrest?’ My mind suddenly began to race. “Simon, are you aware of this?” I asked turning to face him, there was absolutely no way he would allow these men take me in. This was obviously one of Marilyn's schemes. “All your questions will be answered in court, Mrs. Langston.” Agent Cooper said coldly. “You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to an attorney, if you cannot afford one, an attorney will be provided for you.” He said, as he moved in to cuff me.“She tried to push me, I moved away and she fell, that's all!” I protested, crying bitterly.“I suggest you cooperate, Mrs Morgana, or you might lose any chance of getting an attorney.” Agent Carter cautioned. And just like that, I was handcuffed and dragged to the police car while my husband stood there staring at me

CHAPTER One Hundred and Eighteen. Noah's POV. The early morning light filtered through the curtains, painting the room in soft hues of gold. I lay on my side, watching her sleep, Mirabelle. My wife. The woman who had somehow managed to drive me to the brink of madness and still make me fall head over heels for her every single day. Her dark lashes fanned against her cheeks, her breathing soft and even. There was a slight flush to her skin, her lips parted enough for me to see that faintest smile tugging at the corners. She looked so peaceful, so beautiful. My chest tightened as I took her in, my heart swelling with emotions that I still couldn't quite put into words. I couldn't help but smile, it has been a year since everything–since the chaos that Natasha had unleashed on our lives. A year since we’d nearly lost everything. But now? Now, our life was a calm that I never thought I would really experience. Filled with laughter, love and the promise of new beginnings. My gaze drif

CHAPTER One Hundred and Seventeen. Mirabelle's POV. The first thing I noticed was the sound–a steady rhythmic beeping that pierced through the haze of my mind. It was faint at first, distant, like an echo calling me from the depths of a fog I couldn't escape. My head throbbed, a dull persistent ache, and my eyelids felt impossibly heavy as I tried to open them. The light was too bright. I squinted, the sterile white of the room assaulting my senses. Everything was blurred, shapes and shadows bending together in a surreal dance. I blinked, my lashes wet with tears I hadn't realised were there, and slowly, the world began to take shape. A hospital room. The faint antiseptic smell hit me next, mingling with the sterile cold air. My body felt alien, like it wasn't mine. My limbs were leaden, my chest tight and a sharp pain radiated from the right side of my abdomen. I tried to shift, sit up, but the movement sent a fiery wave of pain tearing through me, forcing a gasp from my lips.

He looked panicked when he came in here, but now, his gaze was suddenly cold. His expression was unreadable and it scared me, like the calm before the storm. I knew Noah was going to save me, he wasn't going to leave me to die because of what I did to him, right?I wasn't even sure anymore, I was on the brink of death and thinking stupid things. At least if he didn't save me, I was sure that he would save our kids. “Noah…” my voice broke, but he didn't look at me. His eyes was fixed on Natasha, who stood with that wicked smile on her face, holding all the power. Her eyes gleamed like she was enjoying every moment of this. Of course she was. “You'll regret this.” Noah said, his voice sharp like a blade, cutting through the tension. Natasha just laughed, her head tilting back slightly as those he had told her a joke.“Oh

CHAPTER 115.Mirabelle's POV. A sharp, stinging pain exploded behind my eyes as I slowly regained consciousness, my head felt heavy, and my vision swam, disoriented by the dim, flickering light of the room. The first thing I noticed was the metallic smell of blood. My blood, my lip throbbed, split from what I assume was a blow. As my vision cleared, panic set in. My wrists were tied behind me, the coarse rope biting into my skin. My ankles were bound to the legs of a chair, I tried to shift, but the chair wouldn't budge from the floor. The cold metal pressed on my chest felt foreign, and when I dared to look down, my breath caught in my throat. A bomb. Wires tangled over my body, a cruel, intricate web of destruction. The timer on the device blinked ominously, though it was yet to start. My heart hammered against my ribs. The sound deafening my ears. “No.” I whispered, shaking my head in disbelief. “No, no, no….”My eyes darted around the room, desperate for answers, desperate f
