My car rolled to a stop in front of Roman’s sprawling mansion, its grand façade looming ahead like a fortress.

The lush greenery surrounding the estate contrasted with the storm raging inside me. I hadn’t expected to be here, not tonight.

I wanted to spend the night at Isabella’s place But something about Roman’s cryptic message had made me feel uneasy. I stepped out of the car, my heels clicking sharply on the gravel path leading up to the front doors.

The mansion’s heavy wooden doors swung open as if they were expecting me, revealing a lavish interior. The moment I crossed the threshold, I felt a strange tension in the air.

The grandeur of Roman’s home—polished marble floors, crystal chandeliers, and gilded décor—did little to mask the undercurrent of unease. They were gathered in small groups, their murmurs filling the room, but something felt off.
