No sounds.

I frowned and pulled off the small envelope tucked beneath the ribbon.

Gina,

I’m in meetings all day and can’t get away until dinner tonight. I’ll meet you in the function room at 6:30 I’m so sorry. I wish I could be there sooner.

I took the liberty of buying you a dress and planning your day. I feel like a complete bastard for what I said yesterday, and this my way of making it up to you.

At 11:30 head to the spa on the floor below us. There you’ll get a massage, a manicure and pedicure, and anything else you want. I scheduled it for you, and you alone. But don’t be too long—a hair stylist is meeting you at the room at four, and so is a makeup artist.

I want you to do nothing but relax today. I’m so, so sorry for what I said yesterday.

George

I felt relaxed and spoiled within an inch of my life, and when Diana applied the bright polish, I saw that the color matches my dress perfectly. My cell vibrated in my pocket, interrupting our conversation about the differences in Australia and America, and I pulled it out to see George’s name on screen. Diana looked up.“Please do answer.” She smiled.I returned her gesture and held it to my ear. “Hi, baby!”“He? What the fuck do you mean he?”Oh, he was mad. Really mad.“He, as in James. I thought you’d like to know he did an amazing job.”“I requested you only had females tend to you.” His voice was strained and tig

My father had business to do with an old friend, so they decided to turn it into a vacation. The last time I was there, I was just a child, so it was if I were seeing the city through fresh eyes.“We’d been there for around ten days when I finally made it to the Eiffel Tower alone. I’d been there with my mom several times, but she was always in a rush to go somewhere else. It was my chance to really enjoy it.” My lips quirked, and George slid his hand into mine. “I was standing in front of th

“Just one. Just me.”“Then why are we having this conversation?”“Because above anything, call girls are masters at the art of pretending. We pretend every day, to other people, and occasionally to ourselves. And you, my darling, are pretending so hard you almost believe yourself.”“I have no idea what you’re talking about.”Ella took my hand and led me to the door. “Just because you’re not falling doesn’t mean you’re not in love.”She pushed the glass door open and we sat back at the table without a word.Every time I was at an event like this, I looked around the room and wondered how many of the guests were call girls. How many of them have been hired for the same reason as me. How many are smiling and pretending to know everything about their handsome, rich date.Usually,

Are you okay with that?”“Not really.”I tore it apart, buttons popping. “Tough shit.”He laughed, his bare hands spreading across my back, and plunged his tongue into my mouth. My back hit the wall with the force of him against mine, and I swore to god I’d climb on him if I could. His lips caressed mine and his tongue explored my mouth like I was an undiscovered cave ready to be exposed of my secrets. His arms went around me and he pulled me into his body.I snuggled in, still riding a high from the intense orgasm that just racked my body, and fell asleep with him still inside me.***A murmur of “Good morning” and a thumb brushing across my cheek stirred me. I stretched out and let my eyes flutter open. George stared back at me with curved lips.“Good morning,” he repeated.“Mmm.” I rolled onto my side. “No it isn’t.”“Any morning after a night like last night can’t be bad.” He ra

The seat sashes are supposed to be champagne, not fucking ivory!”Brenda patted my shoulder. “There, there, Bridezilla. You have three months still to chew their asses out until they get it right.”“Brenda, with the amount George is paying them to get it right, I shouldn’t have to be chewing asses.” I sighed and straightened again. “This is crazy. Why can’t we just elope in some tropical country and get married without all this fancy crap?”My best friend laughed and shut the laptop down. “Okay, babe. Let’s get you a drink. You and I both know you wouldn’t want to have this any other way.”“I know. I just… I

I was not getting it out of him no matter how hard I tried. I knew he wouldn’t give anything away until he was good and ready, so I was stuck sitting here in my awkward limbo until he did. Stuck here, wondering, waiting, what-iffing.Our plates were cleared away and replaced with our main course. Again, it was eaten in silence, our eyes flitting from our plates to each other’s. The only difference was that there was a zinging of tension, one tight enough to cut, and I swallowed hard. My fork clattered as I placed it against my plate and looked at him firmly.“Do you want dessert?” he asked innocently, his steady voice betraying the tightness between us.“No. I want to know what this is.”“This? It’s dinner in the Eiffel Tower, sweetheart.”“No. What is it? Why are you doing it?”Geo

They’d just never been satisfied before now.”“They’ll continue to be satisfied, too.”“I should hope so.”He laughed quietly, burying his face into my neck. “Sit up. Let me wash your hair.”I did as he said, and he grabbed the showerhead from the little holder I placed it in for easy reach. I sat up, brushing hair from my face, and listened for any indication of him being around. There wasn’t any, so I swung my legs over the edge of the bed and made my way out of the room. The city lights flooded the front room, and I glanced at the clock. Three a.m. Where could he possibly be at this time? Something creaked in the direction of his office, and I walked down the hall to it. His door was cracked open slightly, and a gentle light from the television was flickering through the tiny gap. I wrapped my fingers around the edge of the door and eased it open, my eyes landing on his exhausted, shirtless figure. He was slumping over his desk, his fingers buried in his hair. His laptop was open in front of him, papers were scattered everywhere, some lying idly on the floor, and a desk light was illuminating the mess. “You should be in bed, asleep,” he mutte

They’re waiting for her story.”“Will she fuck.” There was no wavering in his voice. Despite his lack of jacket and tie, George looked as serious as ever. “Rachel, get me her on the phone ten minutes ago.” He turned. “Alexander, get something drawn up that prevents her from contacting either Gina or me for the next fucking lifetime.
