“That’s far too much information.” Ivan snorted, shutting the laptop down. “It’ll take a few days to edit these, but when they’re done, I’ll email you them so you can pick the ones you want for your portfolio. Then I’ll put it together and email it out. A different name, right?”

I nodded. “I don’t want anyone at the company recognizing my name. I’ve never met any of the agents, so there’s no chance they’ll recognize me. Is that crazy?”

Ivan shook his head. “Nope. Perfectly sane. Until you have to explain you’re not Mariana Espinoza Gonzalez.”

“Yeah, I’ll pass on that one. I’ll think the name up myself, thank you very much.” I grinned and grabbed the ringing phone. “Hello?”

“Miss Gina? There’s a letter downst

“Coffee,” is all he said.“Is that a demand?”“I require coffee every single morning.”I finished with the foundation and grabbed his arm, moving his shirt so it exposed the watch on his wrist. I tapped the face lightly. “Seven thirty. There’s still four and a half hours of the morning left. Your requirement can wait a little longer.”He stood behind me as I finished applying my makeup. He grabbed my brush and ran it through my hair, and I met his eyes in the mirror.“How do you do it?”“How do I do what?” he responded.“Make it seem so normal. There’s this huge cloud hanging over us ready to piss all over us and you’re just…normal.”He smiled. “Haven’t you learned anything? Great love makes the bad stuff disappear, if only for a sec

Oh, and, Rachel?”She paused by the open door and glanced over her shoulder.“If you get me this information, your next pay will have a considerable bonus in it.”Her lips twisted to one side. “I’m not doing it for money, Mr. Stone. I’m doing it because we’ve all noticed how happy you are now. And, if you’ll excuse my language, Ester is a raging bitch.”She closed the door behind her, and I laughed. “I like her. She gets it.”“Ester has worked for me for four years, and Ester spent the majority of that time trying to con

“Oh, believe me, baby. I have no work on my mind. Only play.” He covered my mouth in a kiss so forceful I pushed my hips up. Shit. His tongue slid along the seam of my mouth, flicking between my lips and begging for entry. I allowed him, opening for him, letting my tongue sweep against his. He squeezed my waist and lowered his body on top of mine, hard and defined and so fucking perfect. I slid my hands beneath his jacket and tugged his shirt free of his trousers. The skin on his back was hot beneath my fingers as they crept under the hem of his shirt, and he groaned quietly when I wrapped my legs around his back. The way my body arched into his, the tensing of my muscles that held him to me, the deep sweep of my tongue across his—they all said how much I needed him. They told both of us how much my body needed his, how much it craved the swee

“Like what, exactly?”He wiped some tissue along me, tenderly wiping me clean, and passed me my panties. “Sorry. I don’t have clean ones,” he murmured. “And things I don’t want to discuss while you’re lying on my desk after I fucked you.”I sat up, courtesy of his arms around my back and lifting me, and brushed my thumb along his jaw. “Let’s deal with it, baby. Together. As one.”“We will be, but I’m still not discussing it while you’re on my desk.”“Oh, for fuck’s sake.” I stood, stepping to the side of him. “There. I’m not on your desk anymore.”George looked at my hand. “And you’re also not wearing any underwear.”I tugged my dress down my thighs and stuffed my wet panties into the pocket of his pants. “And I

But I needed this. I needed to feel the burn in my legs and the thumping of my heart as I put all of my frustration and tension into this workout. I needed to let go of some of it, or who knows what will happen. I sure as shit didn’t need to have another anxiety attack. The gym on the floor beneath George’s apartment was a happy discovery. And since it was early afternoon and everyone was at work, I was here alone. Which meant I was there to pant and scream and grunt my way through pushing out the heaviness of the last few days.Yesterday was still niggling at the back of my mind though. I was still feeling uncertain over George’s proclamation regarding The Insider. I was also aware of the fact that it didn’t cover all our bases. We didn’t know if she sold the story exclusively or not. Still, it didn’t matter. I wished that it did.

His lips twitched. “How can I forget?”“Yes. Well. I had been to work that night, but I couldn’t do the job.”“Why do I get the feeling I know where this is going?”“He was hosting a function and your parents were there. I recognized your mom before I entered and apologized.” I smiled sheepishly. “This is slightly awkward.”George stared at me for a long moment. “Amusing is what I’m thinking. More the fact Alex had to hire someone to accompany him to his own function.”“Oh yes. Imagine that. Having to hire someone to be your date.”He grinned and slid a hand up my back to cup my head and pulled it forward. “Well, I’m very glad I hired you first. Otherwise, I may have had to kill him for you.”“Protecting me, right?”

EpilogueFour Months Later“No, no, no!” I dropped my forehead to the table. “Why is this so hard for them to get right? Champagne and ivory are not the same color. The seat sashes are supposed to be champagne, not fucking ivory!”Brenda patted my shoulder. “There, there, Bridezilla. You have three months still to chew their asses out until they get it right.”“Brenda, with the amount George is paying them to get it right, I shouldn’t have to be chewing asses.” I sighed and straightened again. “This is crazy. Why can’t we just elope in some tropical country and get married without all this fancy crap?”My best friend laughed and shut the laptop down. “Okay, babe. Let’s get you a drink. You and I both know you wouldn’t want to have this any other way.”“I know. I just… I

I was not getting it out of him no matter how hard I tried. I knew he wouldn’t give anything away until he was good and ready, so I was stuck sitting here in my awkward limbo until he did. Stuck here, wondering, waiting, what-iffing.Our plates were cleared away and replaced with our main course. Again, it was eaten in silence, our eyes flitting from our plates to each other’s. The only difference was that there was a zinging of tension, one tight enough to cut, and I swallowed hard. My fork clattered as I placed it against my plate and looked at him firmly.“Do you want dessert?” he asked innocently, his steady voice betraying the tightness between us.“No. I want to know what this is.”“This? It’s dinner in the Eiffel Tower, sweetheart.”“No. What is it? Why are you doing it?”Geo

He prodded me in the side. “I think I found desires you weren’t aware of over the last few days.”Ah, this much wass true. Who knew having sex in front of a large bay window in the middle of the day was so fun?“I was very much aware of them. They’d just never been satisfied before now.”“They’ll continue to be satisfied, too.”“I should hope so.”He laughed quietly, burying his face into my neck. “Sit up. Let me wash your hair.”I did as he said, and he grabbed the showerhead from the little holder I placed it in for easy reach. When the water was the right temperature, I leaned my head back and let him wet my hair.“Ivan’s coming back to Seattle in a few weeks.”“He is?”“Hmm. He said he’ll call you to arra

The longer you keep me waiting out here, the harder I’ll have to fuck you.”Oh, silly, silly man. Truth was, I had no intention of letting George Stone fuck me right now.I planned to sit him on that fancy-ass leather chair an

“We are?” “Yes. You’re wearing my shirt again, and I believe it was some six hours ago I was promising to fuck you on my desk, so I suggest you get your ass into my office and hop up onto that desk pronto.” “You’re getting more demanding by the day, Mr. Stone.” I added some extra wiggle to my hips as I walked, and I was rewarded by a low growl of pleasure behind me. And punished with a sharp smack on my ass. “I never said anything about a demand. I’m requiring you get on my damn desk. Now move.” *** “Thank you.” George took a large envelope from someone and closed the door behind him. I watched from my slouched position on the sofa as he pulled a letter opener from the kitchen drawer and sliced the letter open. Because who doesn’t keep one of those in their kitchen?

It was ten in the morning and George still wasn’t up.That alone told me how much yesterday tired him. He was incapable of sleeping past six. Crazy man.I rocked my head from side to side. If I had any idea exactly what he was doing last night, I’d go into his office and finish it. As it was, I had no idea, so all I can was sit there like a freaking orange waiting to be juiced.I couldn’t read because my concentration wouldn’t last beyond a page. I had done my Candy Crush and Coin Dozer thing, and if I saw one more whining status post on Facebook, I’ll do one of my own.The sound of a phone ringing in his office cut through the silence, and I paused. Oh hell.I jumped down and ran into the room, barely blinking at the name on screen before answering. “Hello?”“Hello? Gi

  • CALL GIRL #1   CHAPTER 135

I sat up, brushing hair from my face, and listened for any indication of him being around. There wasn’t any, so I swung my legs over the edge of the bed and made my way out of the room. The city lights flooded the front room, and I glanced at the clock. Three a.m. Where could he possibly be at this time? Something creaked in the direction of his office, and I walked down the hall to it. His door was cracked open slightly, and a gentle light from the television was flickering through the tiny gap. I wrapped my fingers around the edge of the door and eased it open, my eyes landing on his exhausted, shirtless figure. He was slumping over his desk, his fingers buried in his hair. His laptop was open in front of him, papers were scattered everywhere, some lying idly on the floor, and a desk light was illuminating the mess. “You should be in bed, asleep,” he mutte

They’re waiting for her story.”“Will she fuck.” There was no wavering in his voice. Despite his lack of jacket and tie, George looked as serious as ever. “Rachel, get me her on the phone ten minutes ago.” He turned. “Alexander, get something drawn up that prevents her from contacting either Gina or me for the next fucking lifetime. This ends right now.”“George, you can’t pay her!” I wrenched myself from his mom’s grip. “Don’t be so fucking stupid!”He br

Not this time. I couldn’t look in his eyes and know that everything we have was on the line. How many news alerts will pop up on my cell?“Gina.” His voice was hard. No-nonsense. “Look at me. Now.”My eyes disobeyed me.
