"What do you think?" Cole threw the question back at me.

I kept my smile steady. "Then I guess I'll be on my way."

I handed the bouquet back to him.

Cole raised his hand but didn't take it. Instead, he plucked a petal and brought it to his nose, inhaling deeply. "Just tell me, why do you want to see my father?"

I frowned a little. Was he changing his mind again?
