He could hear the emergency bells go off in his head as his eyes widened in realization.

“Oh really?” She folded her arms in front of her chest.

“Misunderstand? But why would I do that? After all, I'm not the one you're dressing up to go on a date with. I would only be overstepping my boundaries if I misunderstood,” another smirk that didn't reach her eyes.

“I know you're angry, but I wasn't lying when I said that I don't plan on it being a real date.”
