CHAPTER 41

LENA.

I went numb.

I felt nothing. Not fear, grief, shock or contempt. I couldn't even feel anything. Leah remained in my arms, sobbing and talking about how scary this was getting.

"I thought you had gone missing or dead and I panicked so hard. I couldn't stay at a place till I found you," She sobbed harder and pulled my shirt.

"W-who died?" I stuttered, trying to keep my composure intact.

She stared up at me. Her eyes were red and tears streamed down her cheeks. I could see the raw fear in her eyes. She was probably thinking an apocalyptic event was about to happen. "Igor, one of the jocks from the lacrosse team."

"What?" I muttered, shocked this time. Igor was one of the transfer students that had moved to our school in the fall. He had immediately joined the lacrosse team for his strength and speed. He towered above most of his teammates too. How had anyone been able to take him down?
