_Alina's POV_

Alaric's eyes darkened with desire. He captured my lips in a searing kiss, his hands firmly gripping my wrists and pinning them above my head. The intensity of his kiss left me breathless, and I felt a surge of excitement.

"Are you sure that you're ready for this, Alina?" he murmured against my lips.

I nodded, my heart pounding. "Yes, Alaric. I trust you."

A satisfied smile curved his lips as he kissed me again, more fiercely this time. He trailed kisses down my neck, nipping and sucking at my skin, making me gasp and arch against him. His hands roamed over my body, exploring and claiming every inch.

"Remember, if anything gets too intense, just say the word, and I'll stop immediately," he said.

"I will," I promised, feeling a deep sense of trust and security despite the unknown we were about to venture into.

Alaric bound my wrists together with a silk scarf, securing them to the headboard. The restraint heightened my senses, every touch and caress sending jolts of elect

_Alina's POV_That night, I fell into a deep sleep. I was exhausted from the intense lovemaking session with Alaric. In my dreams, I found myself walking through a fierce snowstorm, the wind howling around me. My body felt different, lighter, and when I looked down, I saw white fur covering my paws. I had transformed into a white wolf.I trudged through the snow, my breath visible in the freezing air. The snowflakes stung my eyes, and the cold bit into my fur-covered skin. Every step felt heavy, each paw sinking deep into the snow. Despite the harsh conditions, I pressed on, driven by the need to find shelter.Eventually, I stumbled upon a wolf pack huddled together for warmth. I felt relieved, and I approached them, hoping to join their circle. I thought that they would accept me.But as soon as they saw me, their expressions turned hostile. Their eyes narrowed, and a growl rumbled through the group. "It's the cursed wolf," one of them snarled. "The one the Moon Goddess stripped of h

_Alina's POV_Alaric's eyes widened in alarm. "What do you mean? How do you feel?"I tried to speak, but a wave of pain crashed over me, making it impossible. My body felt like it was on fire, every nerve ending sparking with electricity. I doubled over, clutching my stomach as the power within me intensified."Alina!" Alaric's voice was filled with panic. He held me tightly, trying to steady me as my body began to convulse. "Stay with me. We'll get through this.""Alaric, you have to stay away from me," I managed to say through gritted teeth. "I don't want to hurt you.""No way," he said firmly, his grip tightening. "I'm not leaving you."I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and braced myself for the transformation to take over. The pain was unbearable, like my bones were breaking and reassembling themselves. My body started trembling violently, and my bones made strange, agonizing cracking sounds. My muscles twisted and stretched unnaturally, as if they were being pulled apart and

_Alaric's POV_I had mentally prepared myself for Alina's transformation, but seeing her groaning in pain shattered me. The first transformation of a werewolf is usually accompanied by intense pain, but this... this was far worse. The abrupt halt in her transformation made her agony unimaginable. My heart broke and I felt completely helpless since I could only watch her suffer.I didn't want to alarm the others, but I needed help. Quickly, I had Thorian discreetly bring the wolf healer. In the meantime, I carefully laid Alina on the bed and covered her with soft blankets. As she lay there, her breathing ragged and her body twitching, I stayed by her side, silently praying for the healer to arrive on time. My wolf comforted me and advised me not to worry too much. It had just communicated with Alina's wolf and was guiding her through this nightmare."Stay strong, Alina," I whispered, holding her hand tightly. "We're going to get through this. I promise."Soon, the wolf healer arrived i

_Alina's POV_After Alaric left, I felt a surge of determination. I needed to find Juliet and uncover the secret behind the drink. I couldn't believe that she would harm me without reason; there had to be a motive. Before Alaric discovered the truth, I had to act, or Juliet would face the grave accusation of attempting to murder the queen. The punishment for such a crime would surely be execution.I straightened my attire and prepared to leave the palace. I walked briskly through the corridors, my mind racing with thoughts of Juliet's unusual behavior. She had been my best friend, my confidante. Why would she poison me? _Alina's POV_The world around me blurred and shifted. Everything went black. When I came to, I found myself in a dark, cold room, my hands and feet bound by thick chains. The woman who had captured me stood a few feet away, watching me with a smug expression."You must be wondering why you're here," she said, her voice echoing in the small space.I struggled against the chains, feeling the cold metal bite into my skin. You might have thought that I was dead, but clearly, you were mistaken."I felt confused at first, but as the pieces fell into place, a chilling realization dawned upon me. Tanya was the only one who looked just like me. The resemblance was uncanny. That was the reason why Caleb took me as his mate—because I resembled the woman he thought was dead. Everything suddenly made sense."Tanya? But Caleb told me you were dead."Her laugh was bitter. "Of co
