_Alaric's POV_

As Alina shared her story, I listened intently, my heart filling with a deep sense of compassion and sorrow. I couldn't imagine how she had endured such dark times. Hearing about the pain and betrayal she suffered at Caleb's hands made my blood boil. My wolf, Leo, roared angrily within me, wanting to break free and make the one who hurt her pay.

"This is unacceptable!" Leo's voice echoed in my mind, filled with rage. "Caleb's actions are a gross violation of his responsibilities. Protecting our mate is our sacred duty!"

I struggled to control my emotions, taking deep breaths to calm both myself and Leo. "I know, Leo," I replied silently. "But we must be strong for Alina. She needs our support, not our anger."

Leo growled, still seething. "He must answer for what he did. We cannot let this go unpunished."

"We won't," I promised. "But right now, our priority is Alina. We need to help her heal."

As I focused back on Alina, I saw the vulnerability in her eyes. She had bared

_Alina's POV_"We have arrived," Alaric said softly, squeezing my hand one last time before letting go. The carriage came to a gentle stop, and the driver opened the door, allowing the noise and activity of the Capital to flood in.Stepping out of the carriage, I was immediately struck by the sheer vibrancy and energy of the city. It was unlike anything I had ever seen before. The wide streets were alive with activity. Cars and horse-drawn carriages wove through the traffic, their bells ringing crisply and engines roaring. I was captivated, my eyes widening in wonder as I took it all in.The streets were lined with exquisite shops, their windows displaying fine garments, sparkling jewelry, and a variety of other goods that seemed almost magical in their beauty. Lively market stalls spilled out onto the walkways, vendors shouting and bargaining with customers. The air was filled with the rich scents of fresh bread, roasting meats, and exotic spices. Everywhere I looked, there was somet

_Alina's POV_As I turned around to look for Juliet, I realized that my friend was no longer by my side. The market was crowded shoulder to shoulder and the noise was overwhelming. I frantically searched for Juliet, calling out her name, but my voice was quickly drowned out by the surrounding clamor. I tried to push through the crowd to get back to where we parted, but the flow of people made it difficult to move against. In my anxiety, I noticed a narrow alleyway that might offer a chance to escape the crowd and find Juliet. I decided to venture into the alley, hoping to spot Juliet at one of the intersections. The alley was quiet in contrast to the bustling market, making my heartbeat seem loud in my ears. My footsteps echoed as I scanned the corners and windows for any sign of Juliet. However, as I went deeper into the alley, I realized the environment might not be as safe as I thought. Shadows seemed to move at the end of the alley, and I heard whispers and snickers, unsettling me

_Alaric's POV_As I stepped into the royal council chamber, the sunlight streaming through the tall windows cast a warm glow over the room. The chamber was grand, with high ceilings adorned with intricate carvings and tapestries depicting our kingdom's rich history. The large, circular table at the center was surrounded by seats reserved for the king's closest advisors. At the head of the table sat my father, King Edgar, a figure of reverence and authority. Beside him, my mother, Queen Eleanor, radiated grace and wisdom, her gentle smile ever-present."Father, Mother," I began, "I have completed the inspection of the various wolf packs as you requested."My father leaned forward, his eyes gleaming with interest and approval. "Tell us what you found, Alaric."I detailed my findings, describing the strengths and weaknesses of each pack, their needs, and my suggestions for improving their governance. As I spoke, I noticed my mother's gentle smile widen, a look of pride in her eyes.I det

_Alaric's POV_I moved swiftly, my training and instincts kicking in. One by one, I took them down, each blow precise and powerful. The thugs tried to transform, their bodies shifting and contorting, but I was faster. I used my Alpha tone, my voice echoing with authority and power, “Enough!”They froze, their eyes wide with fear as they felt the full weight of my command. The remaining thugs stumbled back, disheveled and terrified, before turning to flee. As they retreated, I sent a mindlink to Lucas, our Captain of the Guard, calling for reinforcements. "Lucas, bring warriors to handle this situation. We have a problem here.""On it, Prince Alaric. We’ll be there shortly," came his prompt response.I turned my attention back to Alina, who was now breathing heavily, her eyes still wide with fear. I stepped closer, my voice gentle. "Are you alright, Alina?"She nodded, tears glistening in her eyes. "Yes, thanks to you. How did you find me?""We’re mates," I explained softly. "I can alw

_Alaric's POV_As we approached my car, I couldn't help but notice the awe in Alina's and Juliet's eyes. It was a sight to behold—a marvel of modern engineering that few ordinary people had the opportunity to encounter. They circled the shiny vehicle several times, examining each detail with curiosity. The design of the car was starkly different from the carriages they were familiar with; it was more enclosed and modern, giving off a futuristic feel that seemed to captivate them entirely."Isn’t it beautiful?" I asked, unable to hide my pride in the automobile. "It’s a symbol of progress and innovation."Alina’s eyes sparkled with excitement as she ran her fingers lightly over the car’s smooth exterior. “It’s incredible, Alaric. I’ve never seen anything like it.”Juliet nodded in agreement. “It’s so different from the carriages we know. It feels like something out of a dream.”“Would you like to take a closer look inside?” I offered while opening the car door. They both nodded eagerly

_Alina's POV_As Juliet and I stepped out of the car and into the store, we were immediately struck by the lavish interior. The sheer beauty and elegance of the place were almost overwhelming. Despite the grandeur around us, the shopkeeper barely glanced in our direction. It was clear that our attire wasn’t rich enough to catch his interest or merit his attention.Ignoring the shopkeeper’s indifference, we decided to explore the store on our own. Each dress seemed more stunning than the last, and the fabrics were unlike anything we’d ever seen before. I couldn’t help but be drawn to a particularly gorgeous gown. Its intricate embroidery and luxurious material were captivating.“Look at this one, Juliet,” I said, touching the fabric gently. “Isn’t it beautiful?”Juliet nodded, her eyes wide with admiration. “It’s incredible, Alina. But I wonder how much it costs.”Determined to find out, I approached the shopkeeper. He looked at me with clear disdain, barely masking his annoyance at be

_Alina's POV_Alaric's presence was so commanding that it instantly transformed the atmosphere inside the silk shop. His gaze was as sharp as an eagle's, pinning the shopkeeper in place and making him visibly nervous. The shopkeeper, clearly startled by the prince's arrival, hurriedly asked Alaric what he needed. Upon seeing Alaric, Elena's expression swiftly changed, surprising me with her quick reaction. She immediately prepared to approach Alaric to greet him.Alaric, however, paid no attention to the shopkeeper or Elena. Instead, he walked over to Juliet and me, presenting us with flowers— a bouquet of red roses for me and white lilies for Juliet. I felt a rush of warmth and gratitude as he handed me the roses, the gesture both kind and deeply personal."Thank you, Alaric," I said softly, my voice filled with appreciation.Juliet echoed my sentiment, "These are beautiful. Thank you."Alaric then turned his attention to the shopkeeper, his expression hardening. "Is this how you usu

_Alina's POV_Taking a deep breath, I steadied myself and looked down at the shopkeeper. "Your conduct today represented not just an injustice towards me, but an injustice towards everyone. As a manager of a royal enterprise, your behavior reflects on the entire royal family. If we let this go unpunished, more victims will suffer. I'm sorry, but this is necessary."Juliet nodded and said, "Alina is right. We can't allow such behavior to go unpunished."The shopkeeper released his grip, his shoulders slumping in defeat. Alaric nodded approvingly at me, his eyes filled with pride. "You handled that well, Alina."Juliet and I carefully selected dresses within the shop. I wanted to find something perfect for the banquet. After browsing for a while, I chose a simple yet elegant long gown, its color reminiscent of the deep blue of the night sky. Tiny pearls adorned the hem making the dress look elegant. Juliet picked a vibrant green dress that complemented her lively and spirited nature. We

"What do you want to do with her?" he asked."We need to send a message," Alina said firmly. "To everyone. They need to see what happens to those who use dark magic against us."Alaric nodded. "We’ll take them to the capital. We’ll burn them in the square for all to see."Caleb, who had been leaning against a wall, slowly walked over. His face was pale, and he looked exhausted, but there was a fire in his eyes. "I’ll help," he said.Alina looked at him. She was grateful for his support. "Thank you, Caleb," she said. She turned back to Alaric. "Let’s get them ready. We need to do this quickly."The warriors moved quickly. They tied the witch’s lifeless body and carried her out of the ruins. Caleb started to say, but she shook her head, her focus entirely on Tanya."You can't win, Tanya," Alina said, taking a step forward. "Surrender now, and maybe we'll show you mercy."Tanya snarled. "You think you can just walk in here and take me down? You're nothing, Alina! Nothing!"Alina didn't flinch. She raised her hand, and the palace guards moved forward, their weapons ready. "This is your last chance, Tanya," Alina said. "Give up, or we'll make you."For a moment, it looked like Tanya might fight back, but then she glanced around, realizing that she was outnumbered. With a frustrated scream, she lashed out with one final burst of dark magic, but Alina was ready. He knew that Tanya was somewhere nearby, hiding in the shadows, but finding her was no easy task. His hand came up to cup my cheek, his thumb brushing lightly over my skin. “I was so worried about you,” he said, his voice thick with emotion. “Every moment you were gone, I was terrified that something would happen, that I wouldn’t be there to protect you.”I leaned into his touch and closed my eyes as I savored the feel of his hand against my skin. “I know,” I whispered. “But I’m here now. The night was quiet, the only sounds were our footsteps and the occasional rustling of leaves in the wind. But I knew that this calm was deceptive. Something dark and terrible was waiting for us.We traveled in silence for a while, each of us lost in our own thoughts. But then, I felt a familiar presence in my mind. It was Alaric, reaching out to me through our mind link. His voice echoed in my heart, urgent and filled with worry.“Alina,” he called out. “I’ve found evidence of Tanya’s involvement. She’s here, in the capital, but the people… they’re blinded by fear and rumors. They refuse to believe that she’s the one behind this. Her influence is spreading and it’s causing chaos. Some of the werewolves have started to riot. The city is on the brink of losing control.”His words hit me like a punch to the gut. I could hear the desp

I could see the exhaustion in their faces, the lingering fear that had yet to fully fade. But I didn’t have the luxury of time to explain everything to them. They needed to rest and regain their strength. They had fought their own battles and now I had to fight mine.“Stay here,” I to
