Chapter 4 What Happened To You?

**Alana's POV**

“Why do you bother asking her all these questions, Jayden. It's obvious that she has gone somewhere!” Caden said aloud with anger filled eyes.

Jayden moved closer to me, while I shivered badly.

He grabbed me by the hair and sniffed my scent.

“Why do I smell a strange scent on you? This is not your scent. Tell me who you have met?!” Jayden thundered at the top of his voice.

“No one! Please let me go!” I tried to push off his hand which he was dragging my hair with.

“You fucking sl*t!” Caden thundered as he came closer to me as well.

“She smells like another pack. Do you think she's seeing someone from another pack?”

“I guess she is. The fact that she's crying and pleading is an indication that she's up to something!” Aiden added.

Tears ran down my cheeks when they said this. I'm so dead. I can't let them find out that I had been with Stephan. If they find out about that, they'll surely have Stephan killed. I can't afford that.

“How dare you look us in the face and lie to us!”

Jayden questioned in anger and the next thing I knew, I found myself flying to the wall as Jayden pushed me.

I hit the wall so hard that I felt a crack on my backbone. As soon as I landed on the floor I spewed out blood that very instant.

I sobbed as tears ran down my cheeks. They are going to have me killed at this rate. What on earth am I supposed to do to escape this?

Jayden and the others approached me while I was on the floor, coughing out blood.

“How dare you lie to us!” Jayden grabbed me by the neck and pulled me up while Caden pulled me by the shoulders as they pushed me to the wall. The colors of their eyes have changed from their original colors to that of their wolves.

“Now listen to me, Alana. You are ours! You are to remain our slave for all eternity. You know why? Because this is your destiny!”

“But I didn't do anything wrong,” I tried to defend myself.

“Shut the f*ck up!” Aiden, who was behind, watching the show yelled.

“You should blame your unfortunate existence on your useless father!”

I hated the fact that they called my father useless. My father was a hero. He fought and died as the hero he was. How dare they call him useless when it's their father who was actually useless and a coward. All because of my mom, he dared to have my dad killed.

I cried bitterly, knowing it'll be hell for me as long as I'm around the triplets. They have vowed to make life a living hell for me.

“You should wipe that f*cking tears off your face and listen. If we ever find out that you're seeking help from anyone, then you'll be sorry. Do you know what that means? It means both you and whoever is found helping you will have to pay the price. Am I understood!”

Jayden yelled at me, still holding me by the neck.

“Yes! Yes!”

I screamed out. I should have known that it was a bad idea to try to confront them when I'm not strong enough to do so.

“Please forgive me. I promise this won't happen again. Have mercy on me, I beg you!”

“Ah…so you know how to plead, huh?” Caden asked. He smirked like he always did, which gave him an evil aura.

“Aiden and Jayden, what do you think we should do to her from now on?”

“Well, since she's sorry for what she did, we can let her go for now,” Aiden managed to say. Though it's not like he's saying this to save me or something. It was his first time saying such calm words.

“You're right. She's had enough for today. We should let her have some rest.”

They all walked away from the room with their hands in their pockets.

When I realized they were far gone I burst into tears that very moment. With all of this I've seen them do, it is more reason why I need to leave this place and never return. I have a bad feeling that if I don't, they'll surely be the death of me.

They never fail to remind me that I'm nothing but a slave and will only remain so for the rest of my life. I can't accept such a fate. This can't be my destiny. This can't be what the moon goddess wishes to grace me with after everything I've suffered in their hands.

**

The next day, after carrying out my chores for the day, I decided to go out to the fields to get some fresh vegetables at the pack's farm for dinner tonight. Getting to the farm, I looked around and found no one. This was the only place I had peace. The only place I can actually be and get some time alone for myself.

Before going ahead to harvest some vegetables, I decided to just sit out there in the open and look up at the sky. I wasn't happy. I just wish I could run away, but then I still have one more day left. But I can't help but worry even though there's just one day left. What if I can't escape? What if they find out what I'm trying to do and decide to kill me, wouldn't that be much worse?

“Alana, there you are!"

The familiar voice immediately made me snap out of my thoughts all at once. I looked behind me only to see Stephan approach me.

“Stephan, what are you doing here?”

“Well, I came to look for you. Ever since yesterday, I haven't had the opportunity to be with you,” he said as he approached me.

Immediately I stood up from the ground where I was sitting and wiped the tears off my face. But then, I wasn't fast enough since Stephan had caught sight of what I was doing."

“Tell me, what happened to you? Don't tell me you've been crying?”

“H…huh? Not at all,” I lied even though the truth was as open as a book.

“Tell me, who made you cry? Don't tell me…" he trailed off as his eyes suddenly fell on my neck.

“Wait, what happened to your neck? Why is it so red.”

“N… Nothing happened to me,” I lied, trying to cover up my neck.
