I felt so relaxed, sprawled out on my stomach on the sofa, arms tucked under the pillow my head was resting on, my legs swaying back and forth as I watched the end of my film. Or rather, read it. I still had the subtitles on, too stubborn to ask Matteo to show me how to work the damn thing. I watched the beautiful Julia Roberts get her man with a small smile.

"See, just because you are from different backgrounds doesn't mean it won't work out," Rae assured me; rolling my eyes, I looked over at where Matteo was sitting in the dining area, looking over some files; his handsome features screwed up in frustration, making me pout at the change in him. He had cooked us dinner, we ate together, and just like that, as he cleaned up, all the flirty banter was replaced with a seriousness I didn't like; despite my request to sit with me, he pulled his laptop out and started working.
