Lia

I sat across the fire from Xaviera, watching her sip at some blood she had put in a canteen for herself. It was a little bizarre to see someone drink blood out of a canteen, but I suppose if you were a vampire traveling, then this sort of thing tended to happen.

She was taking her time, acting very leisurely. I huffed, glancing at the rest of my mates. They were pretty annoyed, glaring at Xaveria and wanting to tell her to hurry the fuck up.

Honestly, I did too. The two of us needed to talk. For one, I needed to know why this secret group of vampires wanted to kill me. Or why they were in cahoots with dragons.

“Are you done?”

Xaveria tilted her head back, chugging the rest of the blood in her canteen. A few droplets dripped down her neck, causing Rain to sigh.

“This is making me thirsty.”

She blinked. “You have several pack members and a mate. Get blood from them. This is mine.”

“Hey, I wasn’t going to steal your blood!” Rain cried. “Calm down, ancient vampire lady.”

LiaIn the morning, all of us headed back to the parking lot. Xaveria was with us, keeping to herself, her fingers twitching at her sides like she was trying to stop herself from saying something. Every step we took, she glanced over her shoulder like she expected a monster to jump out and yell, “Boo.”I was about to ask her what was wrong when she suddenly froze in place.“It’s waking up.”I blinked. “What?”Xaveria’s gaze was fixed on something distant, her expression tight with unease. “It’s waking up,” she repeated, voice lower this time.Colby groaned. “That doesn’t exactly explain what the hell you’re talking about. What is ‘it’? The last time someone said ‘it’s waking up,’ I ended up watching a horror movie and not sleeping for three days.”Xaveria sighed. “An elder dragon.”Silence.“Okay,” Rain said after a beat. “That sounds bad.”Colby shot him a look. “No shit, Rain.”I didn’t need to know a lot about dragons to understand that an elder dragon was something else entirely.

ColbySee rooming with Rain was starting to ruin me. He was starting to make me make little jokes at tense situautions like these. But I wasn’t going to blame him for it.This was just the type of person he was. Rain was an easy-going, happy guy. He didn’t know any other way to be. The guy was just a happy-go-lucky guy, and if I was being honest, he did do a great job of helping with the more tense moments. We had a lot of tense moments lately. It was one battle after another, all of us traveling and on the move. I couldn’t remember the last time I had been able to sleep in my bed."Okay. We stay put.""I'll grab some water. You need anything else?""No. Just—stay close.""Always.""I hate this.""I know. But you're handling it.""Barely.""Hey, you are strong, so just remember that, okay?”Lia scoffed. I sighed, giving her a look. Why did she have to be so hard on herself? She was a great person and strong as fuck. If only she could realize that about herself."I wish I felt strong r

RainWe didn’t stay home for long. After Lia’s heat was over, we had to go out and try to figure out where this fucking elder dragon was located. It was causing tremors not just in our state but all over the country. Everyone was trying to find this dragon—except for Michael and Gabi. They had the twins to worry about, which we understood.I know they would be out there with us if they could. If they had their way, they would bring the kids!I think one of them suggested it but as soon as it came out of Michael’s mouth, Lia gave her brother a look and said that there was no way that he could do that. This was a clusterfuck.I love that word and try to use it to describe this type of situation. All of this has been such a well… clusterfuck! How else do you describe stuck trying to find this elder dragon who was going to be awake any day now! Xaveria kept warning us, and it wasn’t helping my nerves. Every time she opened her mouth, it was another cryptic message about time running out o

JesseIt took us driving for three days straight for the group of us to narrow down where the elder dragon was. I was pressure we found the right place because the ground was literally trembling the closer we got.Lia had one of her visions during the night, saying that there was a hidden entrance that someone with dragon blood had to open. Xaveria was with us so she said she would be able to open it.Colby suggested we sleep first. All of us had to be at tip top shape to confront the elder dragon. One thing that was bothering me was what we were going to do when she faced the elder dragon. During dinner around the campfire, Rain blurted out the question because that was the type of person Rain was.“So what are we going to do when we see the elder dragon?” he asked nervously. “I think we are going to fight, right? Or are we just going to try to talk with him?”Xaveria cleared her throat. “Or her. Are you sexist now Rain?”He paled. “Oh my god I am sexist.”Lia sighed. “Rain, get it t

Matt“Have I mentioned how fucking sick I am of being underground?” I asked, huffing when everyone nodded.Sighing, I narrowly avoided tripping over a rock, causing Rain to laugh. It was my turn to laugh when he tripped over a rock and landed face-first on the ground.“Those that laugh, trip over rocks,” I teased, reaching down to lift him to his feet. “You okay?”He sniffed. “I guess I’m okay, but I am in a lot of pain. I mean, I did fall face first onto the fucking ground. Also, what he fuck was with that saying?”“I think it’s a play on those who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones,” Colby said, causing him to huff.“And that hurt, by the way.”I snorted. “Yes, I’m sure it did, but you’re a powerful werewolf, and we are about to go face an elder dragon. Don’t you think you should suck it up right now?”Rain paled. “Why do you have to keep bringing up the dragon? I won’t be able to forget because I can feel the fucking tremors every five minutes.”Shrugging, I went back to w

LiaXaveria sighed. “They are stubborn creatures. Well, the elder dragon mostly. The creature thinks of a better time and wants to recreate that. If anything, they won’t end up taking over the world. More likely they will destroy it before destroying themselves.”So stupid, I thought. This was what it all came down to.But it didn’t change the fact that I was going to remain here, determined to do what was best for the ones I love. This was mostly what I was concerned about.I wasn’t worried about glory or proving myself. I just wanted to make it out of this alive, with everyone I cared about still breathing.Colby glanced at me as if sensing my thoughts and gave a small nod. We were in this together, no matter what happened next. The tremors grew stronger, dust trickling from the ceiling. A deep, guttural sound echoed through the tunnels—something ancient stirring awake.Xaveria exhaled sharply. “Well, looks like we’re out of time.”Colby drew his weapon. “Then let’s finish this.”Wi

LiaThe tunnel seemed to go on forever and ever, but eventually we were able to reach this inner chamber that led to a bigger chamber. When we stepped into the room, I saw this large, slumbering dragon in the middle of the open-air chamber. It was more than a little terrifying. The sheer size of it was enough to make my heart race. Everyone stepped back, not wanting to make any noise in case we ended up waking it up. What if we woke it up and it just woke up right away?Swallowing, I glanced at Xaveria, who shrugged, pointing to me. She meant that this was my decision and job to wake up the dragon. I lifted my hands, about to light up the room with power, but before I could, the creature’s eyes snapped open. All of us froze. I wasn’t sure what to do. We looked at each other, and then I looked back at the dragon, fearful that something was going to happen.“You,” the dragon said simply.“Yes, me.”I stood tall, staring at it and daring it to throw itself at me.“It’s still trying to wa

The second he said that to us then I knew what we were going to do. We were going to take care of everything and do our best to protect her.“This is so bad,” Rain whimpered.Jesse shrugged. “We always knew it was going to be bad, Rain, so calm down and keep fighting.”“Keep calm and carry on,” I joked, earning a glare from Matt. This caused me to laugh.“Why are you making jokes at a time like this?” Matt asked, rolling his eyes.I grinned despite the chaos around us. “Because if I don’t laugh, I might start screaming.”Rain groaned. “Honestly? Same.”Lia stood in the center of it all, gripping the stone, her body thrumming with power. She wasn’t afraid. She wasn’t hesitating. She had a plan, and we had to trust her.The dragon roared, shaking the ground beneath us. The shadows swarmed closer, writhing with dark intent.Matt snappe

JesseEveryone was going crazy. But they were going crazy for good reason. Matt was still with people who wanted to seriously hurt him.I was angry but trying my best to hold my anger back as best I could, not wanting to alarm everyone. When I was angry, everyone would know it.Matt had a temper, but my temper was more dangerous. I was always more dangerous than everyone here. They all knew it.I knew it.It was something I wanted to make sure everyone understood. The more they feared you, the less trouble they would give you.Sighing softly, I sat down at the table, thinking about how this rescue mission was going to go. It was going well. I was determined to make it go well.“Jesse, what are you thinking about so hard?” Rain asked, talking with a mouth full of food. How could someone who could be so smart do something so stupid sometimes? No, that wasn’t fair of me to say.All of us were on edge after everything that happened since Matt was taken. RainMatt was still missing. It had been two days and I was a fucking nervous wreck over the fact that he was gone. Then again, all of us were nervous that he was gone.I remembered the conversation I had with Colby the other day. He had been sitting in his bed, sulking. It was so strange to see him sulk because this wasn’t normal behavior for him.“Hey Colby,” I said, slipping into our room. The two of us had ended up sharing a room for a while now. It was great to have Colby as a roommate. He understood me and didn’t lose his temper like Matt tended to do.Jesse just scared me at times. He was one my best friends but he scared the shit out of me.“I’m fine.”“Yeah, sure. Your fine and I’m able to shut the fuck up for more than ten seconds.”Colby burst out laughing, causing me to grin.“See, I made you laugh!”“Rain, it’s impossible to stay serious when you are around.”“You're welcome,” I said, plopping myself down on his bed.He bounced slightly, giving me a look when I made mysel

MattI had been out and about, just having a normal day. Nothing was going wrong. There hadn’t been any threats from my pack members, so I was letting my guard down. This was my fault. It was the last thing I should’ve done, yet I didn’t realize until the last moment. One moment I’m standing, and the next someone is coming up behind me, injecting something into my neck. I slapped my hand on my neck, swearing under my breath. This fucking sucked.“Fuck,” I muttered, the smells of my old pack washing over me.This sucked so much.It was all I could think. K about.Fighting wasn’t an option. My body was falling, and it hit the ground with a loud thud, making me wince. There was laughter from whoever was around me. Was no one seriously seeing this? And if they were, why didn’t they help?Wait.I had been on an empty street. The people dragged me into a creepy van, which was more than stereotypical. Can you imagine them dragging me into a van, which was one of the most stereotypical things

ColbyThe day started normally. I was at a council meeting with Jesse, the two of us trying to deal with what seemed to be petty issues. When it was over, he said he was going to stay a little longer to finish up on some work.I came home to an empty house. No surprise. Rain was still out coaching, and Lia was out with Simone, the two of them having a girls' day out.Who wouldn’t want to have a day off after working as hard as Lia had for the past few weeks?Yawning, I set to making myself something to eat when I heard some noise outside the front door. Stiffening, I ran out and then found a note. The note said that they had Matt.Matt had to go out today to run some errands. We were all doing our own thing, so they must’ve taken that chance to take Matt.He was gone.Swallowing, I was trying to comprehend the fact that his pack had him. No, his former pack.Matt was a member of the Moonveil pack. He was one of us, and we were going to protect him no matter what. But this happened on

LiaSomething was going on.I don’t know what was going on, but something was going on.People were hiding things from me, and by people, I mean my mates. Rain kept looking at me, and it seemed like he was ready to burst. It was obvious he was hiding things from me, but what was that something? It was what I couldn’t figure out quite yet.“Hey Rain,” I asked, plopping myself beside him.It was obvious from the look in his eyes that he wasn’t expecting me and that he wasn’t thrilled for me to be here. It was because he was hiding something.Rain was as obvious as ever.He squeaked, smiling at me. “Uh, hey Lia. What’s going on?”“I’m off for today. How are you?”“I have to coach the kids' team today. They are doing well and I think they are going to make the championship!”I smiled. Rain was genuinely excited about it, so I was trying my best to be excited for him. But the problem was he was hiding something from me, and I needed to find out what it was!He was the worst at keeping secr

JesseThe two of them were up to something. Rain was someone who wasn’t able to keep a secret if his life depended on it. You could tell him that it was life and death, but he would still insist on telling the secret.Sometimes it was amusing, but other times it was annoying because I didn’t understand why Rain couldn’t keep a secret. But the point was, I know he and Matt were up to something.I raised an eyebrow, crossing my arms as I leaned back in the chair. "Rain, don't try to pull that crap. You're acting all guilty. What are you hiding?"He wiped his forehead, eyes darting around like he was looking for an escape route. "It's nothing, okay? Just... don't—""Don't what?" I interrupted, a smirk playing on my lips. "Don't ask questions? Don't pry into your business? Come on, this is me we're talking about. You can't get away with this."Rain groaned, slumping down in his seat. RainI didn’t mean to call Matt crazy. He was angry at me for a while, and then we ended up hearing someone outside. When we investigated, it turned out to be someone from Matt’s old pack! His old pack were a bunch of assholes. I hated to put it like that, but they were. Whenever we had to visit Matt at his house, I remember feeling so uncomfortable. They always were judgmental and acted like they didn’t even like Matt!I would never treat any of my children like that. One day, Lia and I would have pups of our own, and I was going to treat them like they were the most amazing thing in the world. But having children was going to wait. I was in the middle of training, something we had to do.Training wasn’t my favorite thing to do, but I had no choice. We had been through so much bullshit over the past few years that it was impossible for us to just sit around and not train. By training, we were able to ensure that we’d be able to be ready for whatever threat came next. And given that s

MattThings were finally starting to settle down. It was crazy to say that, but I loved that things were finally quieting in our lives. After so much craziness, all I wanted was quiet. Hard to believe I was saying this right now.The dragon shifters were adjusting to living here in our city. I never thought they would adjust to living here, but they were. Other supernatural creatures had done their best in protesting their arrival and settling in. However, they had finally given up.They realized that they had no choice but to accept it. If they didn’t get with the program, then there were going to be consequences. The entire Moonveil ended up becoming spokespeople for the movement, something I never expected.Fighting for someone else and trying to take a stand wasn’t for me. I still preferred to be coaching, but when I had time, I would join Lia, Colby, and Jesse in public events. So would Rain. When a dragon shifter wanted to join the rugby team, I was the one who pushed for him to

ColbyThe sounds Lia was making were driving every one of us insane. We were currently on day three of her heat, and it was slowly ending, but it was clear that there was still a bit to go.She was on the bed on her knees, furiously pleasuring herself or trying to. The four of us had walked out while she was sleeping to go grab some food, water, shower, clean the sheets, and just do some things that needed ot be done while we were sure that Lia was sleeping. Then we come back to the room and see her sobbing into the pillow, desperately trying to come by she wasn’t able to come because she needed a knot. It would be the only way to stop the burning feeling inside her gut.Slowly, I approached the bed, murmuring soft words to her. I stroked my cock, able to get it hard within seconds. The sight of Lia was enough to make me half hard before I even walked towards the damn bed.I positioned myself beside her, sinking in right away. Lia was so wet that I slid in easily.
