NARAH'S POV

As we drove to Alpha Van’s home in a jet black SUV, I felt my heart pounding out of my chest. I was sitting next to Gina who kept stealing glances at me, every chance she got.

She had left her friends at the Café on Alpha Van's orders, so they could take me to their abode.

Van was sitting at the shotgun seat, not minding us at the back seat. He had his eyes fixed on the road, but twice, from the side mirror, I caught them flickering towards my direction, sending bolts of electricity through my bones.

What was that? That feeling I got when I felt his eyes on me? Fate must be playing some kind of cruel joke on me after all, I thought.

A couple of weeks ago, I was just an ordinary girl from a small town far away from here. I pinched my left arm and cursed underneath my breath. Deep down, I wished I had never regained the memories of my past life.

“We're here.” Van's voice broke the deafening silence that once engulfed the vehicle's cabin.

ALPHA VAN'S POV(Flashback)Her grey curls and elegant presence clouded my mind, and everyone in the clearing seemed to have faded away, leaving just the two of us. My eyes stared dreamily at her.I was drawn to her. I longed for her in a way that was new to me, a way that made everything else irrelevant. My hands swiftly came out of my trouser’s pocket and nervously adjusted my tie, trying to compose myself and make me look presentable.“Mate, that's our mate, Van. That's our mate. We don't look further no more, here she is.” Curtis bubbled over with excitement, “After a hard long searches, we finally found mate.“Easy there, Curtis. Easy,” I hissed at my wolf, urging him to keep calm. She was not just a chosen mate, but a fated mate. She was ordained for me by the moon goddess, and I knew it the minute I set my eyes upon her. Her scent lingered like a ghost in my mind. She walked up to me, and her piercing blue eyes casted its gaze into mine like a gentle caress. I felt an undeniable

NARAH'S POVThe loud argument in the dining room kept everyone busy, they didn't even notice I had been standing there for a couple of minutes. My hands were fidgeting, and in the cool atmosphere, I began to feel sweat dripping down my forehead. What is Luna Tauriel doing here? I thought. She was pointing her finger at a handsome man who resembled Alpha Van, screaming, “I can come here whenever I wish. It's my daughter's home too.” I pursed my lips and fixed my gaze on her as memories of how she treated me in my past life flashed before my eyes. The big bad wolf was a name Minsi used to call her. I subconsciously giggled over the memory. My anxiety skyrocketed out the ceiling when all eyes at the dining table turned to me. Their gaze burned my skin like hot coal, melting my confidence away.I shot one quick look around the table. F**k! An empty seat right next to Luna Tauriel. Just what I needed! “Hi,” I said, waving my hand in the air awkwardly. My nervous feet managed to take me

NARAH'S POV:Luna Tauriel’s anger was evaporating into the atmosphere, seeping through the cool air and right into my pores. I was beginning to get a little annoyed, so I rolled my eyes, and asked nonchalantly,“What do you want?” “Do you know who you're talking to, you insolent child?” she said angrily. The sweet scent of Vanilla fragranced hand cream enveloped my nose, and with a deafening sound, her palms swiftly collided with my left chek.SPAK!I was dumbfounded. I knew she was evil, but I didn't take her as a woman so wicked to hit someone she barely knew. What the hell was I thinking? Of course, she'd do that, because her daughter did the exact same thing the first day we met.“How dare you?” She asked, her nostrils flaring up like a bull. The only thing I could do was to hold one of my hands against my cheek to calm the pain from the slap.“I hate what I sense in you,” she continued. “Gina told me that's why she brought you here.” her hand snatched my right wrist. “And I'll

GINA'S POV(A few hours earlier, before the dinner)“Mom, I felt a strong aura around her,” I said to my mother on call, while I paced around my massive bedroom, worrying about what to do next.I needed to talk to someone, and my mother was my best friend, she was the only person I trusted. I had already explained how I met Narah, and now I just wanted to hear her opinion on the matter. Her voice reverberated through the other end of the line, sounding firm but worried, “Are you sure of that?”Yes, I am one hundred percent sure,” I raved. Across the room, my reflection caught me off guard. I stood in awe, admiring my body adorned in a colourful chiffon top, and a chic black mini skirt. I was the true definition of beauty.“Why were they looking at each other the way you described, what does that mean? My mother asked, pulling me back into reality.I grimaced at the thought of Van and Narah in the Café, and replied, “I really don't know what it is about, but one thing is for sure; ther

NARAH'S POVI clutched the bedsheets, my heart pounding like a bass drum, as I said to Alpha Van, “Your wife is here.”He turned his head, and his eyes landed squarely on the door, staring at it with anger. His jaw clenched, and his grip on my ankles loosened. I didn't want Gina to get the wrong idea, to think that I would go after her husband. Even though I didn't care what she thought of me, I wanted her not to see me this particular way.Alpha Van slowly and quietly walked to the door, as if he were giving his anger time to disappear. The next thing I knew, he flung the door open, and immediately, I heard Gina say,“What are you doing here?” “I should be asking you. Did your mother ask you to come here?” Alpha Van asked with disdain in his voice. There was no other person who saw Van and me except for Luna Tauriel, who had caused me to trip and sprain my ankle.“Nooooo,” Gina cried and let out a weak laugh. “My mother didn't ask me to come here. NARAH'S POV (Two days later)It was a beautiful evening, and the sun was ready to set. It casted a warm orange glow across the pink, golden and bluish coloured clouds that covered the sky.I desperately wished to feel the sun on my skin, but thanks to Luna Tauriel, I was stuck now in a wheelchair, waiting for my ankle to heal.At least, I didn't have to start my maid duties until I recovered, that was a positive light to my situation.I looked from across the window in my room, admiring the vast green field when suddenly, a group of able-bodied men dressed in black leather jackets and pants, alongside women in leather jumpsuits, came flooding in.I could tell they were wolves of different ranks. They huddled together, chanting, “We are the mighty warriors of the Woodwick pack,” before howling excitedly, jumping, and dancing in circles.I'd forgotten what it was like to see warriors. But seeing them sent me back to the past, when my father would take little six-year-old me for a walk,

NARAH'S POVAt the end of the field, I saw Van and Gina approaching. They stopped close enough to watch what was going on, and behind them, stood the man I had been longing to see–Chris Stevens.“Are you going to walk or just stand there like a statue?” Said the warrior who challenged me. His name was Axton. He giggled when I attempted to take a step but fell back into my wheelchair.“What a joke. A lone wolf can never be a strong wolf,” he said, shaking his head. There was an odd expression in Katy's eye as she glared at me; it was a hint of disappointment. She walked away, and then turned, seeing that I was in pain and my feet were hurting. “Maybe I was wrong. You should take your time to heal,” she said.“Sorry, Narah,” Hanadin whispered to me, but I brushed his hands off my shoulder. I looked over to Van, who was watching me intently, and Gina, who wore a sinister grin, laughing at my defeat. My feet were still hurting, but I managed to stay strong. NARAH'S POV “I apologise for not fulfilling my promise. It was selfish of me to depart in that manner,’ Chris said. “I don't expect you to forgive me, but I'm still sorry.” He sounded believing. I had been searching for the right words to express how hurt I was, but they escaped me. With my head buried in my hands and tears in my eyes, I answered hesitantly, “I don't need your apology. I just need to know why.” He remained silent. Maybe I was being a little unfair, I thought— considering the look in his eyes, I suppose I could try to understand why he had left me even if he hadn't said anything. At the time I had no recollection of my past life as Reina, Chris was all I had until he abandoned me. And then, when the memories of my previous existence returned, I felt as if the moon goodness despised me. The woman who gave birth to me had a nine-year-old son named Chris. She lived with her husband and son in a lovely little cottage until she fell in love with a stranger who had come

Beta Bernard's appetite for power seemed to know no bounds. His eyes blazed with an intense white light that radiated like a flashlight pointing in all directions until they finally rested on me. I caught Liora's body in midair just before it slammed onto the ground.“Oh my! Thank you,” she mumbled, catching her breath, disbelief etched on her face.“Are you okay?”She nodded instinctively; then her eyes darted toward Beta Bernard, scanning the clearing. His guards were getting back on their feet, along with Luna Tauriel. The flames they had held were now extinguished and the sticks tossed aside.“That old man just won't quit. Motherf**ker!” Liora cursed bitterly, glaring at him.“He looks pretty mad and happy at the same time,” I retorted.Instantly, Liora's amber eyes grew large with surprise as they focused behind me, gawking at something—or

I was dumbfounded when it led us to a part of the woods where I saw Gina. She was holding on to dear life…barely. It broke my heart to see her like that—battered and broken beyond saving. I could sense the silver mixing like a drug in her blood. It pulsed through her veins like the rhythm of a mourning song. When I held her, the things she had done since my return were quickly erased from my mind, replaced by a gaping wound of regret and sorrow which scared my heart deeply. For the first time, I caught a glimpse of the sister I had once known and loved. The Gina that had filled my childhood with her elegance. Her sultry green eyes had lost their sparkle. They were bleary with tears, and her pupils were dilating. For Corolla—I didn't exactly know what to feel. Hurt, betrayed, and beneath it, a genuine love for a friend whom I had thought was true. For a moment, I let the memories wash over me—the pain, the unbearable grief, the anguish. There was no way in hell or on earth that I'd let her live even if it would cost me my life. I'd fight until the very end.“Do you think father would be proud to see us at war?”“I don't f***king care what he thinks.”“What about your mother?”“Go to hell, Corolla.”Corolla's laughter filled the night's air. I felt a shiver run down my spine. Still, I remained bold and alarmed in case she would pull one of her dubious moves.“How could you work with our enemies? I’ve just never tried it before, but I think I might be able to do it,” I mumbled doubtfully. “I know you're thinking of creating a portal,” Minisi said. “Since you have witch's blood in your veins now, I'm sure you can give it a try. But don't forget that creating a portal is a complex and unpredictable magic. If you lose control, it could rip apart the fabric of space and time, or worse, trap us in a never-ending loop of dimensions.”“Wow, thanks a lot for reminding me of the consequences if I fail. It's a nice way to say ‘don't do it, but hey, might as well go ahead and doom us all,’ Yeah, thank you,” I quipped, releasing a gush of air and blowing a strand of hair out of my face.“I'm just saying,” Minsi added. “I’m glad you understand, though.”“I want to create a portal,”I said to Alpha Van. But before she could react, a deafening crash from the side of the building echoed through the walls.Gina, flanked by Zander and Isolde, strode into the hall, their eyes scanning the room until they settled on me and my rescuer—Alpha Van, my love.It was he who drew the blade out of my chest. He had managed to come from behind the stage just before Bryan even finished climbing up the stairs. Bryan approached, disbelief masking his features as he accessed us. NARAH'S POV I felt a strong wave of dizziness wash over me, and my stomach churned with nausea that seemed to come with cramping that came out of nowhere. “Reina, I don't know how much longer we can go on like this before… Reina” “Please, Minsi, don't give up on me now,” I groaned. My skin was deathly pale, and my eyelids could barely lift. It was too much of an effort to even try. The air was rich with the scent of delicacies and a mixture of various colognes. It felt as if I was being pricked by a needle, and as if blood was rushing to my brain. I felt bad for having to put Minisi in this situation just when she finally came back. “I have to protect you at all cost,” she said, her voice coming in soft murmurs. “If we can get the dagger out, we can easily break free from these cuffs.” “But my hands are bound. How can I pull the dagger out?” How long had it been since Corolla drugged me? Just then, a beam of what felt like sunlight projected into my partly opened eyes

There was nothing I could see, only whiteness stretching in every direction—endless, like our love.It was magical and pure, but then a scowl appeared on my face at the thought of a forever that might soon come to an end. So I asked, “When is this forever? You know forever does come to an end sometimes.”“Okay, how about eternity?” Alpha Van asked, pinning me to the white wall. “You're mine for eternity.”My breathing hitched as his chest pressed softly and firmly against mine, heaving with every breath we took. The touch of his hands on my skin erased all my thoughts and left my brain as blank as the space we were in. “Eternity sounds even better,” I said, my gaze flicking between his eyes and lips.“I'll love you for eternity,” he said. Tears filled her eyes, but she continued, “On my way home, I was involved in an accident, and when I woke up, I found myself in a dark room. The smell of blood and screams of despair were all I could hear. I was tortured alongside three other people. For all those years, she kept us as prisoners and would occasionally come down to spit at us for ever having the audacity to challenge her.” “Hey, it's over now,” I whispered, reaching over to take her hand. “You're finally going home.
