NARAH'S POV

As we walked towards the shopping district, Vanessa briefed me on the specifics of what she needed to purchase for the upcoming event.

I listened intently, making mental notes as she and James discussed everything from decorations to catering.

Despite the busy nature of our task, Vanessa’s cheerful attitude was somewhat uplifting. She chatted about her experiences with high-profile events, offering me brief glimpses of a world far removed from her own current struggles.

My mind wandered as we shopped. I couldn’t shake the image of Luna Tauriel’s troubled face if we dared get what she hated.

Hours later, with our shopping complete, Vanessa thanked me for my help and wished me well. James and I got a taxi and returned to the mansion with the bags.

We barely had time to drop them off before I was called to help prepare for a small dinner gathering Luna Tauriel was hosting. The evening’s tasks seemed endless.

As the day wore on, exhaustion took its toll. I managed to complete

NARAH'S POV After finishing my dinner, I stepped outside the mansion, feeling the cool air on my hair and skin, but I couldn't escape the sense that Gina's anger was about to catch up with me at any moment.I shrugged off my concerns, trying to muster some semblance of confidence, and headed towards the small garden where the family was gathered. The garden, encircled by a vibrant array of flowers, had a distinct atmosphere. Unlike the building, which was filled with artificial scents, the garden was permeated with the natural fragrance of sweet flowers and freshly cut grass. It was decorated with stunning yellow lanterns that illuminated the path from the steep stairs and around every corner.Luna Tauriel and Gina were sitting together, enjoying drinks and laughter, while Alpha Van was accompanied by Beta Henry. As soon as I entered the scene, Alpha Van's gaze met mine, and he gave a small smile, directing his full attention to me. GINA'S POV My eyes burned with rage, but I tried my best to keep it at bay. I glanced at the exquisite colours of the wallpaper that covered the walls and inhaled the fresh scent of roses and strawberry mist that filled the air.The elegance of her room's decor stood in stark contrast to the chaos and messiness of my own life at the moment. My mother stood near the large closet, her back against it. Absent-mindedly, her thin fingers ran through her dark, curly mane that was tucked behind one ear while the other fell over one side of her slim face.I was pacing the room, shifting my gaze from one corner to another, struggling to still contain my anger. I understood my father had a plan, but this? I definitely wasn't expecting it to be so dangerous.“Why did Father have to do that?” I demanded on the verge of tears. “I almost lost Van!”My mother clicked her tongue and scowled. “You don't love him, so why do you even care about him at all?”“I don't care about him personally, but he’s

GINA'S POVI could feel the tension in my blood reaching a boiling point before I even stepped outside the mansion, leaving Van behind as he watched me limp my way out.I needed space to think clearly and act without my mother or Van's questioning eyes on me.I took a deep breath as I passed the garden. The night's cool breeze tingled on my skin, and thoughts of the bastard waiting outside caused my hair to stand on end.I was trying to shake off the dizziness from the fall and remain as calm as possible, still limping as I went. My mind raced with thoughts of the person waiting outside and the implications of what they could mean for me.I glanced back at the garden and saw that everyone was still there except for my mother and Van. Before I left him in the mansion, I could sense his curiosity and concern but had no time to address them then or now. Though, I would never dare to address them.I looked back to make sure I wasn't seen or being followed by anyone. Thankfully, I manage

NARAH'S POVI watched Gina limp past the garden, her usual grace and poise compromised, but I didn't understand why. I couldn't help but feel a twinge of concern, despite our complicated history.I was talking with Hanadin and Rachael, before I decided to go after her. As I approached the gate, I noticed Kacy and Sharon were lingering nearby, their whispers and giggles carrying on the wind.“Hey, Narah!” Kacy called out, her voice husky and laced with an unspoken invitation. “Join us!”I hesitated for a moment, my eyes locked on Gina's disappearing figure.“What makes an elephant look like a fat whale on land?” Sharon asked, suppressing her laughter. What? That single handedly topped my list for the most ridiculous question I've ever heard in my life. And mind you, I've heard a lot of ridiculous questions.“That doesn't make sense at all,” I said, observing both of them as they burst out laughing and had failed attempts at hugging each other. But my attention was soon diverted by Gina

ALPHA VAN'S POV Moisture glistened softly in the corners of my eyes as I jolted awake, my heart pounding from an awful nightmare. Anakiyus's wolf tearing into Bryan's flesh, devouring his heart, and like a Kitsune, consuming his liver as well. The images were grotesque and vivid, and they left me gasping for breath. Sweat dripped from my body as I frantically yanked my cell phone from the drawer by the bedside. My hands were trembling, and I could barely dial the hospital number. I was finally able to dial the hospital line where Bryan was admitted. I had seen him the previous day; he was alright, but I insisted he stay so the doctors made sure he was completely fine before releasing him. “Hello, Doctor June,” I managed to say, my voice shaking. When Doctor June answered, her calm voice did nothing to ease my panic. “Alpha Killian, I was just about to call you,” she said. Without wasting a second, I blurted out, “Is Bryan alright? Did something happen to him?” “Yes… he—” Her vo

Is Bryan’s condition worsening?” I asked, my voice tied with concern.“It’s not about Bryan’s condition, Alpha Killian,” she said, her voice low and serious. “It’s about the attack on him. We’ve found something... unusual.”My mind raced with possibilities. “What do you mean?”Doctor June hesitated before speaking. “When Bryan was rushed in here, there was a wound in his chest,”“Yes, I remember.”“Well, it’s not just a physical injury, Alpha Killian. The wound has some sort of dark magic in it.”My heart sank. “Dark magic? What do you mean?”“Bryan’s condition was better, but then, he got worse. I had to call in the famous Doctor Rowan. I explained the situation, and he agreed to come see Bryan. That's when he confirmed that an enchantment had been used in the attack.”What else was I expecting when dealing with a witch? A sudden fear of losing Bryan engulfed me once more. “I need y

NARAH'S POV The morning sun cast its yellow glow upon the estate's exquisite surroundings, creating a small rainbow over the fountain that stood majestically in front of the mansion. As usual, I was already awake, along with the other maids, getting ready for our morning routine. After cleaning Gina's bathroom and fixing her bath water, I made my way downstairs to join Abigail in cleaning the living room. The sweet aroma of freshly baked croissants, smoked salmon, and cream cheese bagels swoon around like a spell, drifting up my nose and causing me to salivate. The chief cook, Mrs Flora, was indeed good.“Can you get me a new rag from the store?” Abigail asked, cleaning the table.“Sure, I can,” I replied. I left the living room and entered the kitchen. Its spacious layout had multiple work areas. The beautiful rectangular island, made of glass and seated in the middle, also served as a fish tank. It's usually where the chefs sometimes prepare for the meals, and we use it as our casu

I wondered “He's here for us,” My wolf Ria stated, smiling sheepishly at the man she loved. I staggered and gently settled into the plush grey couch beside the bed, cradling the glass of amber liquid in my hands and staring at him as he slowly walked up to me, a soft growl building in his chest. The soft glow of the fireplace danced jubilantly, casting a fine, warm ambiance across the room, while the flames flickered on the walls and ceiling.I took a sip of my drink, feeling the alcohol and wolfsbane mix take full effect. The tension in my head increased, and decreased simultaneously. As it fluctuated, my mind began to unwind.Ria stirred within me as he leaned close and nuzzled my ear.“What—what are you doing?” I mumbled, a pang of heat riveting within my thighs and a sense of desire within my he

NARAH'S POV Standing face to face with Van's direwolf, my heart leaped for joy. As my hands slowly trailed over its soft, stunning black fur, it growled tenderly, leaning its head on my arm.Suddenly, with the speed of light, Beta Bernard grabbed me from the side, lifting me into the air, his laughter cutting through the atmosphere like a blade.“Let me go,” I shouted, the wisps of my breath curling in the air as I wriggled in his arms. I could see Alpha Van's wolf running after us, its gaze drifting toward the sky now and then. I didn't even get a moment more to rejoice at his breaking free.Although I had initially wanted to get to Beta Bernard, now that I was soaring about twenty thousand feet above the ground and knowing he had the power to throw me off at any moment, I had a change of heart.“I'll show you what real power looks like,” he said, focusing above as he rose higher. My heart was pounding rapidly, my stomach churning with every gust of air I breathed in. “Murdering p

NARAH'S POV I wiped my tears, smiling and nodding, but it was only for a split second before the creature pounced on me, pinning me to the ground. It seemed to be fighting with the voices in its head, staggering back, growling, and throwing punches at its own head.My heart hammered in my chest as my shuddering legs managed to find the strength to support me. Frantically, I dashed through the clearing once more. However, Beta Bernard was no longer in sight. The creature—Van— was hot on my heels again, a twisted shadow of the man I loved. Each desperate step felt like it could be my last, but there was no time to stop. No! I couldn't stop. Not now, not when Beta Bernard was still out there, controlling everything and planning to destroy people's lives.I glanced over my shoulder just in time to see Alpha Van stumble again, his paws pounding the earth, his body fighting against the unnatural force that gripped him.It was as if a part of him, deep inside, was beginning to take charge,

NARAH'S POV The monsters surrounding us snarled, their eyes empty of recognition, all of them bound by the same cruel will. “So that which was cursed may never be cursed again,” witch Verusia whispered, staring at Jeremiah. Then I understood what she meant. The reason Jeremiah hadn't changed along with the others was that he had been cursed by the Moon Jade, and now the curse Beta Bernard had placed on the other werewolves could not touch him. The air grew thick, making it difficult to breathe, as we shifted back slowly while the creatures approached. My eyes were locked on them, thinking of how to win this battle without hurting them. “Beta Bernard is controlling their minds,” I said, my voice firm. “I'll see how I can get the Moon Jade from him, while you guys handle our friends.” “Our friends?” Liora snapped. “Look at them. I bet all they want is to sink their teeth into our plump flesh and use our bones as toothpicks.” Jeremiah sneered, his eyes flashing with defiance.

NARAH'S POV I could see the feral grin on his face as he rose from the ground like a phoenix rising from its ashes. I expected nothing less. Beta Bernard's appetite for power seemed to know no bounds. His eyes blazed with an intense white light that radiated like a flashlight pointing in all directions until they finally rested on me. I caught Liora's body in midair just before it slammed onto the ground.“Oh my! Thank you,” she mumbled, catching her breath, disbelief etched on her face.“Are you okay?”She nodded instinctively; then her eyes darted toward Beta Bernard, scanning the clearing. His guards were getting back on their feet, along with Luna Tauriel. The flames they had held were now extinguished and the sticks tossed aside.“That old man just won't quit. Motherf**ker!” Liora cursed bitterly, glaring at him.“He looks pretty mad and happy at the same time,” I retorted.Instantly, Liora's amber eyes grew large with surprise as they focused behind me, gawking at something—or

NARAH'S POV When I created a portal to lead us to where Liora and the others were, I thought I had conjured the right destination. I was dumbfounded when it led us to a part of the woods where I saw Gina. She was holding on to dear life…barely. It broke my heart to see her like that—battered and broken beyond saving. I could sense the silver mixing like a drug in her blood. It pulsed through her veins like the rhythm of a mourning song. When I held her, the things she had done since my return were quickly erased from my mind, replaced by a gaping wound of regret and sorrow which scared my heart deeply. For the first time, I caught a glimpse of the sister I had once known and loved. The Gina that had filled my childhood with her elegance. Her sultry green eyes had lost their sparkle. They were bleary with tears, and her pupils were dilating. For Corolla—I didn't exactly know what to feel. Hurt, betrayed, and beneath it, a genuine love for a friend whom I had thought was true. For a moment, I let the memories wash over me—the pain, the unbearable grief, the anguish. There was no way in hell or on earth that I'd let her live even if it would cost me my life. I'd fight until the very end.“Do you think father would be proud to see us at war?”“I don't f***king care what he thinks.”“What about your mother?”“Go to hell, Corolla.”Corolla's laughter filled the night's air. I felt a shiver run down my spine. Still, I remained bold and alarmed in case she would pull one of her dubious moves.“How could you work with our enemies? I’ve just never tried it before, but I think I might be able to do it,” I mumbled doubtfully. “I know you're thinking of creating a portal,” Minisi said. “Since you have witch's blood in your veins now, I'm sure you can give it a try. But don't forget that creating a portal is a complex and unpredictable magic. If you lose control, it could rip apart the fabric of space and time, or worse, trap us in a never-ending loop of dimensions.”“Wow, thanks a lot for reminding me of the consequences if I fail. It's a nice way to say ‘don't do it, but hey, might as well go ahead and doom us all,’ Yeah, thank you,” I quipped, releasing a gush of air and blowing a strand of hair out of my face.“I'm just saying,” Minsi added. “I’m glad you understand, though.”“I want to create a portal,”I said to Alpha Van. But before she could react, a deafening crash from the side of the building echoed through the walls.Gina, flanked by Zander and Isolde, strode into the hall, their eyes scanning the room until they settled on me and my rescuer—Alpha Van, my love.It was he who drew the blade out of my chest. He had managed to come from behind the stage just before Bryan even finished climbing up the stairs. Bryan approached, disbelief masking his features as he accessed us. My skin was deathly pale, and my eyelids could barely lift. It was too much of an effort to even try. The air was rich with the scent of delicacies and a mixture of various colognes. It felt as if I was being pricked by a needle, and as if blood was rushing to my brain. I felt bad for having to put Minisi in this situation just when she finally came back. “I have to protect you at all cost,” she said, her voice coming in soft murmurs. “If we can get the dagger out, we can easily break free from these cuffs.” “But my hands are bound. How can I pull the dagger out?” How long had it been since Corolla drugged me? Just then, a beam of what felt like sunlight projected into my partly opened eyes
