CHAPTER 12: The truth and a lie

NARAH'S POV

I clutched the bedsheets, my heart pounding like a bass drum, as I said to Alpha Van, “Your wife is here.”

He turned his head, and his eyes landed squarely on the door, staring at it with anger. His jaw clenched, and his grip on my ankles loosened.

I didn't want Gina to get the wrong idea, to think that I would go after her husband. Even though I didn't care what she thought of me, I wanted her not to see me this particular way.

Alpha Van slowly and quietly walked to the door, as if he were giving his anger time to disappear. The next thing I knew, he flung the door open, and immediately, I heard Gina say,

“What are you doing here?”

“I should be asking you. Did your mother ask you to come here?” Alpha Van asked with disdain in his voice.

There was no other person who saw Van and me except for Luna Tauriel, who had caused me to trip and sprain my ankle.
