The empty tutoring center mocked me as I sat down at my usual desk and pulled out my book. The rain seemed to scare everybody away, even the tutors. Only three tutors showed, including me.
The rain picked up from this morning, going to a downpour around lunchtime. It has gone down quite a bit, but none of the students showed. Including Ryan, who was actually at a Student Council meeting.
Apparently everybody hated rain.
Ryan came yesterday too, staying for another tutoring session. I'm guessing it will start to become a regular thing. He was really smart, but the material is just hard for him to grasp.
I grabbed Nathan's hand and pulled both the boys into the dry tile showers. I slowly pulled the curtains aside, almost begging them not to make any noise. They crinkled a little when I let them go not-as-gently. I cringed as I imagined the creature now knowing where we were.I could hear what I thought was the gym door start to open. Whatever was out there, would be in here in just a few seconds. We rounded the shower stalls and I spotted the door at the end of the short corridor. It was connected to the teachers' locker room. Dodging the small lockers and leftover water puddles, we searched for the door. It had a small square window in it, which let i
Nathan pulled up as far as he could go until he was blocked by numerous trees. Derek's sleeping face was slightly illuminated by the radio's blue light, peace emanating from him.I pushed a lock of his too long hair from his eyes and took another look at the innocent boy passed out on my lap.Nathan turned around in his seat after cutting the engine.“I will carry him up to the house and into your room. You should go with him in case he wakes up, I don't want him to be scared.”No way! My mind screamed and I opened my mouth to protest, but remembe
The ceiling mocked me as I lay awake in my bed next to Derek. The recent events taunted my mind, worrying about what would have happened if Nathan had not found us when he did.Would I have ended up like Steve O'Hara? How did he know where to find us? And how did Junto get there so fast without a car? Would he run around the city as a wolf for hundreds to see?Derek shifted from next to me and I froze, as if my thinking too loud was going to wake him.Peeling the covers back slowly, I slipped out of the bed, making a commitment to leave him alone so he can sleep. He w
My eyes scanned the woods, only finding trees and the huge shed containing every possible gun. I thought about reaching in and grabbing my shotgun.I have become pretty good at using it, but I didn't have the keys to get in there or the ammunition. Instead, I stepped closer to woods, knowing something was in there.I heard another snap to my right and turned so fast the blanket slipped from my shoulders. I saw a pair of bright green eyes. I blinked, not knowing if they were real. Then they were gone.Another twig sounded from the forest and I bolted to it before I could think about what I was doing. My legs pushed me forward from under me as I
Derek sunk into my side as we sat on the couches in the family room. I looked back at the thick glass and wished I could see something that could give me some sort of reassurance. It has been three hours now since they left, and everybody was getting really worried. Where were they? Did something happen?Derek had woken up just a little bit ago, frantic about Nathan and I getting kidnapped. I guessed he had seen the scene with the Vampires chasing me though the forest and freaked. After a half hour of reassuring him I was okay and Nathan will be fine, he finally calmed down. I thought about what was going to happen to him and how we can help him right
Blake and Junto’s stumbled into Claire's room, their faces grave with a message. They glanced between Spencer and I questionably before breaking their news to us.“There is someone in the forest.”Spencer got up and followed them from Claire's room. I squeezed her hand before I followed them out. Another one? Didn't we just fight someone, like, five minutes ago?We met Nathan, Stephan, and Hyene, who had started arguing. I didn’t hear all the sides of the argument, so I stood and scooted closer to find out what was going on.When I jus
Liam and I stayed in the same position until I became suddenly aware that we weren’t alone and turned to find everyone was already changed back into their normal human form.Liam’s guide was in front of them, shaking uncontrollably as he tried to make himself appear as small as possible, hiding from the beasts around him.All the glares from the wolves were pointed at him. Everyone’s except Nathan’s, which was aimed at the two of us.“Guys, this is Liam. My brother.” I announced.I saw a brief flash of emotion across Nathan’s
I ducked as a hard fist came for my face. Crouched, I swung my leg to trip Liam, only to have him dodge it and grab my ankle, making me stand up on one foot.I used the momentum against him and spun into the air, knocking him in the chest with my other foot. I leaped backwards, doing a flip and steadying myself with my hands.Letting go of my foot, Liam stumbled back, clenching his chest and smiling at me for a second while catching his breath. In an instant, he was back in front of me, aiming another punch for my midsection. I deflected his blow by jumping to the side, and latching onto his wrist, and twisting it behind his back.Liam jerked his leg o
