Chapter 104

Doreon

It was almost dawn and Doreon hadn't closed his eyes all night, he had been staring at the ceiling, lying on the bed, his body tense at every sound coming from outside. He had barred the door by locking it with the wooden table and with some chairs, not that it was of any use, but he hoped that in case of danger it would give him time to escape.

He had not heard from Barclay again, he knew that he had been accompanied by some of his men inside the building, in pain and with a broken arm. Hoping that he had received the necessary care, Doreon knew well that broken bones, if left untreated, could create problems with the passage of time.

He sighed deeply. In the corridors there was no noise, everything was silent.
