Emily remembered that she'd had a bad feeling when Franco had called her last night, wanting to meet her.

Franco had never interfered with her life. He wouldn't even call her. She was surprised that Franco would take the initiative to call her last night.

She immediately recalled what Krista had said. She couldn't believe that Krista was still able to play tricks on them even though she had left the Albert family.

Martha's face darkened as she noticed that Emily looked down. She grabbed Emily by her hand. "What happened? Could it be that what that woman said is true?"

Emily felt suffocated as she nodded. Her eyes instantly filled up with tears. She grabbed Martha by her hand as well. She choked, "Mom, I don't wanna marry Simon. He's foolish. I don't want to marry him. I don't want to!"

Emily used to think that Krista was just bluffing. She thought that Krista still wanted to argue when she had lost. She didn't expect that Krista truly meant what she said.
