/Brian’s POV/ Everyone starts to troupe out of the room one by one leaving meelah, Elva and I so I signal Elva to get Meelah to safety because she looks like she is way beyond her elastic limit already. “You have been through a whole lot today…..sooo let’s get you to bed” Elva whispers as she starts to lead Meelah towards the direction of the door while meelah just followed her like a zombie staring into space and I followed them because I wasn’t settled with the thought of leaving Meelah alone with Elva for some weird reason. “I want to be alone” meelah finally speaks cup as they gets into the room, walks in and closes the door behind her. “Don’t you think you should check up on her?” Elva turns in my direction and inquires. “G mama is Meelah’s whole life, and for her to get disowned by G mama, she must feel terrible” Elva explains “ I know that” I answer her as I search for the key card in my pocket. “How do you know that?” She asks with her brief reading in confusion. “I wa
/Meelah’s POV/Elva and I sat on the terrace while she continued to assure me that everything would be fine, so I just stayed with her because I felt that it was much better to stay where I was being comforted than to stay alone to start overthinking the many things I could have done to avoid the situation. A few minutes later, Elva got a call from someone and when she got off the call she informed me that the person on the call was Brian and he needed us to go to the front of my grandmother's room because his father wanted everyone to talk and I started panicking because I knew how much of a disaster the first ‘talk’ was and I didn’t want to have to go through that a second time but she said it was going to be fine. “You kept quiet the first time and listened quietly to everything that happened at the dinner table, now that you are getting a second chance make sure you don’t make that same mistake again,” Elva advised and with that, I followed her to the said location. When we got
/Meelah’s POV/“Please don’t hang up the call” he pleads and I pause because I was just considering doing that. “Hurry up with what you want to say…..I am quite occupied at the moment” I urge him because I have way too much on my plate to start worrying about someone like him at a time like this. “I have been meaning to talk to you for a while about the misunderstanding that we had….” He trails off “I guess the right words that you are looking for should be betrayal because the issue we gave is nothing close to a misunderstanding but a glittering act of betrayal” I cut in to correct the notion. “Meelah please hear me out….” He pleads. “What is there to hear out?” I question him because I have a feeling that he is trying to make it look like I am over reacting over a job issue. “I thought you were my ride or die, somebody that was going to have my back no matter what, but you were sure to prove me wrong” I go on because as much as I don’t want to dive into our issue, Ryker already
/Brian’s POV/I tried my best to console Meelah so that she could feel better because it was just extremely weird to see someone that is always in control of her emotions so vulnerable, and I just wanted to make her feel better, but she did something that caught me off guard and I still find it hard to wrap my head around the fact that Meelah Kissed me.As soon as her lips met mine, I froze because I was trying really hard to decipher if she really kissed me or I was just overthinking the whole thing, but when it actually dawned on me that she kissed me, I just comported myself with the excuse of wanting to get her food so that I could get myself out of the situation because I didn’t want to overreact or look like a prude.I got myself out the room and went over pervious ways to approach the whole situation, but it sounded really stupid no matter how I put it, so I just decided to get her food instead and pretend like nothing happened between us.After dropping off the food, I went st
/Meelah’s POV/The ride all the way from the outskirt of the town where the resort is located to the main city, is quite short compared to the rough estimate I had in my head, concerning the duration of the journey, after calculating how long we spent traveling the last time. I know that my estimate is not exact because I only had the knowledge of the tube we started traveling the last time and we arrived late, though I can’t pin point when we got to our destination because I was burying tile playing as the sleeping beauty when Brian took me all the way from the car and tried to help me get settled in the room. During the course of the journey, I spoke to Eden about the unexpected call from RK and his demands, then she asked me to unblock him to fear him out in case he has a valid excuse to justify what he was trying to say .Eden and I didn’t talk for long because she had a assignment deadlines so I was so bored and I just had to unblock Ryker so that I could get someone to talk to
/Meelah’s POV/“Have you still not gotten to the elevator?” Eden asks impatiently. “I just got to the elevator and I am ready to spill the tea so grab your popcorn and juice while I deliver the highlights of this gist to you,” I inform. “Can you get this started already,” she grumbled. “Hi bestie, my name is Meelah Kings and today I will be bringing you exclusive highlights from the reality TV show Keeping Up with the Kings,” I mimic the way Eloise addresses her followers and Eden hides loudly. “Explain to me in one sentence why you are being so dramatic,” Eden questions after hissing loudly. “Because my life looks like a fucking reality tv show right now, with different conflicts surfacing at every point to keep those glued to the screen of my life invested in what will unfold next. “What is that supposed to mean?” She inquires. “The family getaway that Mrs kings invited Brian thing turned out to be an unpleasant family reunion with that man that calls himself my father, his bu
/Brian’s POV/“I have been trying to keep calm since yesterday, but at this point, I don’t think I can keep calm anymore because Meelah seems to be talking to everyone apart from me and at this point, I need to be sure that I am not the one overthinking things,” I mutter as I take my phone to talk dial Elliot’s number. “So you remember that I still exist,” he says as soon as he picks up the call “What is that supposed to mean?” I question him. “You abandoned and neglected me because of your family getaway, and now that the family getaway is over, you remember about my existence?” He scoffs.“You know that is not true…. I have just been busy with a lot of stuff,” I try to explain. “Don’t form being busy for me because I saw snippets from the family dinner, including the live video where you entered the kitchen to join Meelah in the cooking, so contrary to the picture that you are trying to paint, I know that you had soo much fun without me,” he complains“The snippets you saw were e
/Brian’s POV/My phone starts to beep continuously, so I stop my work midway to check who is sending me messages at such an hour.As soon as I double tap my phone and I realize that there are 6 unread messages from Elliot, I drop what I am doing with immediate effect as I unblock the phone with my Face ID so that I can check the content of the message ASAP“Update!!” he starts.“Immediately I got off the call with you, I called my girlfriend to ask her when last she spoke to Meelah and I were told that it was on Friday,” “I knew it was very unlikely that she was well acquainted with the situation at hand, but I still wanted to prove what was going on so I asked her if Meelah had or still had any complicated relationship with anyone before she married you, and I was informed that after the last boy issue was the one that cast when she was in uni,” I read and that makes me remember the messy situation that happened then.“I wasn’t satisfied with the answer I got so I went ahead if Meel
