Fifty Eight

Pain:

The rush of cold air hit Alice as Arkyn held the door open to the courtyard. The air caused goosebumps to spread across her arms but it was refreshing. The excitement in her at having the mark removed was over ruling any discomfort the cold was causing. The sky was dark and stars freckled about the sky. The moon is bright and white, glowing across the courtyard. The moon was the only other source of light other than the light from the fire in the center of the yard.. The amber glow shines brightly making the whole area look cozy. She spotted Njar standing by the fire tending to it as they began walking towards it. Her steps were quicker than Arkyn’s as if he was dragging his feet. She ignored it, she could feel what he was feeling and she powered through it. She didn't need to focus on how worried he was. She glanced down at the 523 on her arm. A small smile formed on her face knowing it was about to be gone.
