Raven's POV I waited for ten minutes before I left my room. I heard laughter from the sitting room as I descended the stairs. I got to the sitting room to see Bella serving an older version of Selene juice. April was nowhere in sight. Neither were Roy and Roman. 'Mum this is Raven, she is Bella's daughter.' 'Come, come, come,' the older version of Selene said pleasantly. I walked briskly to her side as she stood up to give me a warm hug. 'How are you ma'am?' I asked. 'I am fine my darling. It is nice to meet you,' she said smiling at me pleasantly. I was surprised when I looked into her eyes. They were the greenest eye color I had ever seen on any wolf. How could her eyes be that green? I had only heard of green-eyed wolves from fairy tales about Lycan kings and royalties. She noticed my surprise and looked confused before she realized what must have caused my look of awe. 'Oh. I am sorry my dear. My eyes must have startled you,' she said as she let go of me and sat do
Raven's POV I woke up with a muffled scream, I looked around my room to discover that the candle I took from the pantry had burned out. I was sweating profusely. I just woke up from a nightmare which looked like reality. The same dream had been plaguing my dream for long. My name is Raven. I am seventeen years old. I belong to the Attic Moon pack, I don't have parents. Yes, I was raised by the kitchen hands in my pack Alpha's house. Everybody tried their best to avoid me, they say I bring bad luck everywhere I go. According to what I heard in the kitchen sometimes when Sonia the meanest of all the kitchen girls decides to mock me. I was found one morning at the door step of the pack's Gamma. The Gamma had brought me to the Alpha and they had tried to use my skin color and scent to trace my pack but it was never discovered. I was named Raven because of the raven feather that was found in the blanket that I was wrapped with. The first kitchen hand I was handed over to died w
Raven's POV 'You are still here?' My best and only friend, April asked as she walked into one of the soldiers' quarters where I was assigned to clean. 'I woke up tired this morning and I don't know why I am quite so sluggish,' I replied sighing tiredly 'Are you through with your work?' 'Yes, I am through. Let me help you so you can finish on time,' she took hold of the duster and started helping me dust. 'Thank you April,' I said hugging her. 'You don't have to thank me. You have helped me too on several occasions,' she said returning my hug. We worked in perfect silence. April hummed softly to herself. She did that each time she was working. April and her mum were the only two people in the pack who saw me as normal. Their hut was directly opposite mine when I was assigned a hut after my last guardian died. Her mother did not verbally adopt me. She had found me outside my assigned hut crying at night and took me into theirs and fed me. April and I had become friend
Raven's POV I woke up the following day with a better mood. I wasn't going to allow the Luna and Maggot dampen my morale that week. If I could not get a deserving birthday celebration, I could at least be allowed to be happy before and on my day. I would be eighteen in two days and finally get to meet my wolf. No matter how weak or small it was going to be, I was ready to accept it. My wolf will be an addition to what I could call mine. I already had Bella and April, but with my wolf joining the train I was going to be very happy. I walked into the Omegas' meeting room to wait for those I would be cleaning with. I wasn't happy with the heavy burden placed on me but I had no option. If I refused to work then I might face more dire consequences. 'What is this curse doing here?' Lina one of the Omega girls asked once she entered the meeting room. 'Who knows. Maybe she is here to make her curse pour on the ground like rain,' another girl said. 'I just hope she is not in the group,'

Raven's POVApril and I couldn't talk about anything else but the ball. We were excited because we were in the group that would do the final clean up.We could get things like clothes and even if you are lucky gold chains or bracelet that can be sold in exchange for money and that meant money to enjoy with. The rich spend lavishly. Some even deliberately give you money when you help clean the room they slept and carried their luggage to their cars. It is also rumored that some Omega girls sleep with people who come from other packs for money. Lina and her friend Queen had been accused of the act often times. But since there was no rule against doing that, no one has ever said anything against them.It was also rumored that Luna Laura offered some of the girls to visiting Alphas and other high ranking officers from other packs. It was all rumored, none established. April had once said that none of the girls Luna Laura used would dare to tell anyone since all the Omegas knew exactly w
Raven's POVEverywhere was agog with people going and coming. The kitchen was busy. I had taken time to wash my dress in order to ensure that I looked presentable. The whole pack was ready for the ball that would happen later in the day.Guests had started arriving in beautiful cars and attires that would make one salivate and wish for a better life.I was in the middle of hard work, so I had no time to admire people. I couldn't afford to get caught staring at guests. In the process of arranging dishes into a rack, Maggot had come into the kitchen informing me that the Luna wanted to see me. I asked Maggot where the Luna would be and she answered with disdain that the Luna was in the general waiting room. My heart was in my mouth as I walked towards the general waiting room. I knocked gently on the door and I heard someone tell me to open the door and come in.I entered to see the Luna sitting down like the royalty that she was on a sofa. The sofa was green in colour and it contrast
Raven's POVI stayed in my hut the rest of the day. I waited for April to return from whatever chores she was doing around the pack. My heart was in turmoil. I was angry with my wolf. How can she insist that we stayed till the end of the ball? I couldn't help but doubt her words about her being powerful. I kept a strong lid on our link so that she would not try to communicate with me. 'Raven, are you in there?' I heard April's mum call from outside. My heart immediately started racing. I wasn't expecting her back yet. Of course she was assigned kitchen duties and I knew she was supposed to come home and clean up before it was time to start serving the guest. I was not expecting her to be back soon.I opened the door and met her at the entrance of her own hut.'You are back so early,' I said trying to keep my emotions out of my voice.'Yes. That would be because I told Maggot that I had to ease myself,' she said.'I see. Where is April? I have been waiting for her all day?' I asked, t
