In spite of minimal, if not zero chance that Mr. Almiro would indeed show up, I still could not help but hope against the odds that the other party would man up even just for this one. Part of me was still willing to cling even at the slightest possibility that I will be able to turn the table for me.
So with my flickering hope at bay, my eyes were constantly in search of the familiar figure.
