'Tok! Tok! Tok!'
The door creaked open.
"Eurie?" Uncle Sid asked as he buzzed off his maximum secret-mode room.
"Hi!"
"What- stay out of here!" Uncle Sid almost shouted. He pulled Eurie out of his room's door and to the stairs.
Eurie was really surprised to his Uncle's reaction. Like what she always said, expect the weirdest for Uncle Sid. If only her Uncle Sid knew that she knew what he was hiding. Probably it was pornographic videos and posters of naked women. On her psychology class, single men who were having a hard time to get a girlfriend were at high risk of doing sexual activities by themselves. Uncle Sid was a candidate. But, Eurie thought, keeping it a secret like this didn't make sense. Uncle Sid was indeed a weirdo.
When the handsome-faced man was calm he asked Eurie, and in an unexpectedly super calm voice. How fast could this man switch himself from beast-mode to cool-mode? Eurie asked in his mind.
"My room...my room has been frozen again," Eurie answered almost hesitantly.
"So? You want to stay here in my place for good? No!"
"Uncle, it's not what I mean-"
"Of course, I know what you mean. I'm just mocking you but it's half real 'cause I'll never allow you in my place. I never dreamed of living in a refrigerator. Here," Uncle Sid explained while swaying a small bottle of something like a charm. It was as small as the thumb and it had blue slimy liquid inside. It was actually Eurie's reason of disturbing.
Eurie grabbed it and drank it. She never like the way it tasted but she had no choice. Actually, she never expected herself to come to his Uncle Sid begging for that medicine. She never believed in magic afterall. It was a little bit contradicting because her late father was a magician, actually that very fact pushed her to not to believe magic. It was because she had watched her father's performance: the practice and the actual one. So, she knows her father's tricks and cheats on creating entertaining magic shows.
Talking about her Uncle Sid, he was not a magician. He was a clown. Those who wore rainbow-colored afro wigs and thick lipstick – that was Uncle Sid. It was still a confusion to Eurie why did this clown made medicines and charms like what she drank a moment ago. Eurie didn't believe on miracle healing but it was just Uncle Sid's medicine that could control the abnormal feeling she oftenly felt last few days. The feeling that she knew made her room frozen.
"How is it? Does it still feel effective?" Asked Uncle Sid as he strode down the stairs.
"I don't know. I don't feel anything strange," said Eurie and she follow her Uncle. Uncle Sid held a deep breath and sat down on his chair in the counter.
"I'll make another and I'll just give it to you before supper."
"Okay. Uhm, Uncle Sid," Eurie wanted to ask something but she was hesitant for she knew that even if she asked this now to his Uncle she would never get the answer she wanted to hear. The antique shop owner got a lollipop and sunk it into his mouth. Then he looked to Eurie with his lazy vermillion eyes.
"Yes?"
"What's happening to me? I mean, you know it's not normal! That freezing ability, it always freaks me out. I am always scared of it. You know, what if I froze a man or our...or our classroom or I froze myself! What should I do? Is this some kind of a- of a disease or genetic mutation?"
After that speech from Eurie, Uncle Sid bursted into laughter. It took minutes before Eurie found the weirdo, she knew held the answer, calm. He pulled out the milkshake lollipop and answered almost laughing.
"Genetic mutation? So, you're a fan of that comic series X-Men huh! You know what Eurie, I advise you to not watch that again. You're blurting out insane things!"
"Well, my condition is worth asking insane things, Uncle," answered Eurie evidently annoyed.
"Okay. So I answer, it's not genetic mutation. It will take hundreds of years before this planet could have mutants as seen on the television. And even if it comes early, genetic mutation would only result to reptile-like humans like Ninja Turtles and not normal looking girl who can freeze a room and disturb me in such a busy morning."
"Tsk. Whatever, but turtles are not reptiles. They are amphibians, genius!"
"At least I didn't say their mammals!" Uncle Sid talked back as Eurie aimed at the door.
"Sorry for disturbing you and thanks! See you before supper Uncle," Eurie bid goodbye.

Meanwhile, on Zaenosh, Kaizer and Jace saw themselves talking again to Bum Pan, only now that this Bum Pan was a total useless. He couldn't even tell his own name or his homeland.
"Are you my older brother?" asked Bum Pan to Kaizer, "Do you know my name old brother? Huh? Where is our mo--" Bum Pan received again a kick from Kaizer.
"Older brother?! Are you crazy huh! I would never wish to share a name with you, you bald-head!" Kaizer would kick the poor Bum Pan again but Jace had mercy afterall to stop his partner.
"At least save his face Kaizer. He doesn’t even know that he's bald."
"Pssh! That Saturnio, I'm gonna barbecue his old face if I see him again," Kaizer said as he walked to the window. They were still inside the man's hotel room and it surprised them that the authorities there were not yet approaching.
Kaizer opened the sliding door of the window and the early night breeze greeted him coldly. It was late afternoon when they had got here in Aioro and it was not this cold. The carriage driver was right, Aioro would never welcome you warmly. Winter was over and there was no snow outside, but the temperature was freezing.
"Wooh! You don't want to go outside Jace," Kaizer said and he continued walking out to the balcony. His red hair, not too long but not too short swayed through the wind with grace. It swept off his bangs and it cleared his well-cared face. His back was perfect with his famous sword on guard hanging there like it was nothing but a light backpack. He dug a deep breath and shouted:
"WINK!"
Then he bailed out of the window.
"He's insane! My brother committed suicide! How high is this place?!" Bum Pan asked nervously. Jace just smirked and shook his head.
"We're just on the fifteenth floor."
Bum Pan's eyes almost went out of its sockets as he looked to the swinging curtains of the window. It took some seconds before a black shadow enveloped the room. A deafening sound of dashing wind was heard and just then a black dragon appeared. It was not as big as an adult dragon. Its eye was as fierce as Kaizer's, shining lime under the moonlit. Why eye and not eyes? For Wink only had his right eye open. His left eye was wounded and it was always closed. That was why he was named Wink.
On his back by the way was Kaizer.
"Wink, you should have let that idiot fell," Jace joked. The black dragon eyed him and was telling him like, 'Yeah, I thought of that too'. Jace laughed as he saw Kaizer insulted. It should be like that because if it wasn't, then it wasn't Kaizer.
"How about this Bum Pan?" Jace asked.
"How are we going to surrender that if he can't even remember his crimes?"
"So we leave him free, how kind of you," Jace mocked and he too jump to Wink's back. Wink draw away from the inn and the two saw Bum Pan jumping there in the balcony to get their attention. It seemed like he wanted to go with the two young men. He sure couldn't remember a thing.
"Kind? Me? Oh you're overestimating me man!" Kaizer said. He then stood up and motioned his hand to the air.
Out of nowhere, a reddish orb of light was formed. It was as big as a golf ball and it sucked energy from the air. It grew a little bigger and at exact heat, Kaizer threw it to the hotel. Almost bull's eye to Bum Pan. It bounced like a real ball when it hit the ground. Innocently, Bum Pan just watched it rolled into his room. It drew black burn marks on its way. Kaizer above grinned then a click from his hand was heard, together with that, the ball exploded leaving the hotel half burning. Bum Pan on the other hand managed to stood still on a piece of floor luckily attached to the piece of walling that sure not an hour would collapse too.
"What was that for?" Jace asked.
"This cold night needs fire, my friend," Kaizer said then he drove Wink away from the hotel.
"What now?" Jace asked again, hugging himself because of freezing night.
"Jace? We're bounty hunters right? And we badly need money. Read this," he handed Jace the paper Saturnio gave him.
Jace read it and Kaizer saw him smiling. He was not surprised. One of the rarest things to find in this universe is a reason for Jace to say no to money. And what Jace is reading now is a promised money. Saturnio offered them a job. That paper he gave Kaizer was a bounty poster.
"We have a new mission."
Kaizer was quite disappointed by the enormous ruined coliseum he entered. It was old and weak and he couldn't imagine it was a hideout of someone in the caliber of Saturnio. He expected some class since Saturnio was once a big name on his country. The old mage had worked once for his grandfather, that was why he knew him. But, Saturnio wasn't fit to be a forever servant. Kaizer's grandfather and Saturnio were so much alike. They were both evil and greedy of power and so they ended up fighting each other for that. One reason why Kaizer picked this mission was because he too was quite curious of Saturnio’s new lord. He wanted to know, why Saturnio turned his back to Zaenosh’s most powerful empire and went here to work for another person. He couldn’t think of any answers, but whatever it is, he knew very well that it wasn’t some child’s play. ‘I smell challenge,’ he said to himself.---
"AAAAHHH!!!" Eurie ran for her life. She knew that the man was into her. He was naked for Pete's sake! While running, news of brutal rape, cannibalism with rape and psychotic killing with rape flashed into Eurie's mind. She didn't stop screaming as she ran down the hill. She was also searching for people to call for help in the place. Unluckily, it was Sunday, even the caretakers were at their houses, resting or maybe attending their church. The man was screaming too to her. But she couldn't hear clearly any of the things he said. Howbeit, Eurie never stopped screaming while running. She hated herself for not being an athlete because she could hear the man's shouts getting nearer and louder just like the beat of her heart."Waaaaahh!!! Pleaseee!!! Leaveee. Meee. Alone!!!" Eurie managed to scream as she panted horrifyingly.Run. Run. Run.Stumbled.Her legs went weak and she stumbled. She almost cried as she
Hours had passed and the cast for the Snow White play were still there in the stadium practicing for perfection. Jhenny, the director, wanted all things to be memorized and perfect. She was a senior student from the star section, vice president of the student's council and the dean's daughter. It might be that all the pressure was in her now. Only she didn't know, that her casts were getting tired and annoyed to her being so bossy. She shouted here and there. Her voice echoed in the stadium and that tired the casts more."Hey! Prince Charming, you should be there… there in that position when the music starts," Jhenny shouted to a nerd dressed in a thick prince charming costume. The nerd moved quickly, fearful to make a wrong move. Jhenny in frustration fell on her seat and let out an angry sigh."It's too late now Jhenny. All the students have gotten home. Can we go home now too," Eurie bravely asked. The other cast reacted agre
The Magnus was too busy. He was holding a pentagram and enlarging it to its fullest. He just wanted to make sure that the spell would be powerful enough to accommodate five men. His Father told him to send more men and here he was, exhausting himself by murmuring ancient language of magic. When he was satisfied, he slowly put down the pentagram and it was laid again to the ground like a cotton blanket."Add more slaves. The spell needs more sacrifices now that it has gotten bigger," Kiesty commanded his men. The men then added slaves. All the slaves shouted in pain as they touched the glowing lines of the pentagram. Kiesty ignored them and called the men he would send."All of you! You knew what to do. Find the girl and ignore that useless Kaizer." Withal, five bulky men jumped on the dark hole. Kiesty stared at the empty and lifeless void. His emotion was blank
Before Eurie could react to the insane interpretation of the audience, the man whose arm was cut ran shouting to the owner of the sword. That was the red-haired psychotic man.Kaizer bowed so low when one of the bulky men came to him with his sword. Kaizer dodged it, but admittedly they were fast and he was too weak and too hungry to do miracles. He just dodged the man for the third time and did his best to lure him to the edge of the stage. The bulky man cared no less and with that, Kaizer pushed the table beside him and buried the man with it.Another man with a hammer popped out on the left, too fast, Kaizer was hit on his arm. He flinched when he felt the pain. He almost lost his balance but he leaned on the props beside him. It was really hard to fight without his sword. He suddenly regretted that he threw his sword away from him. He spotted his sword and swirled as quickly as his body could do at his state and took a grip of his Flagrare.Eurie was in no s
"Eurie! Upstairs!" Uncle Sid shouted. She followed Uncle Sid but Kaizer remained. "Hah. Hello again, boys" said Kaizer then he pushed himself to the approaching men. He tackled Clerkson. The possessed student was brought flying. Other men attacked Kaizer but he dodged it all by jumping high in the air. Kaizer reached the ceiling and hanged himself for a little while there. Then when the two of the men positioned beneath him waiting, Kaizer jumped down with a powerful kick. The two were knocked out instantly, their faces under Kaizer’s feet. Two men, both with sword attacked him again. This time, Kaizer did not dodge. He defended himself with his Flagrare. Taken aback by the two, Kaizer smirked in excitement. He pushed hard his sword and the two men were the ones to step backwards. Backward and backward, until they reached the opposite wall. Caged by his Flagrare, Kaizer in one hand punched the two men into slee
Eurie was more than scared when she found herself trapped in nothingness. There was not a thing to be seen in the place. No lights. No sounds. No smell. Nothing but darkness and them. She saw herself glowing bluish white while her company, Kaizer glowed bright red. They were just walking. Silently walking to a place they do not know where to end. "Is he not scared?" Eurie thought. "I am not scared," Kaizer answered. “Magic and action and black space and now I think I can hear his thoughts. What a world?!” Eurie laughed inside her head. “Why is it that you find my daily life implausible” she heard him again. Eurie snorted, but after a few seconds she looked at Kaizer asking. She was surprised because they seem to communicate even without talking. How come that he heard it? Did she blurt it out accidentally? "Sorry. You’re not used to these stuffs, aren’t you? Your planet is to blame.” Kaizer replied
The room was silent and cold. It was darker than it had ever been, because the pentagram which sustained the lighting of the room was now gone. No slaves were laid on the ground. Only marks of dark blood and rotten flesh were there. On the farthest side of the room was Magnus Kiesty, kneeling lowly on the feet of his angry Father. It was just hours ago when his Father learned that the bounty hunter was back, and he had the girl. Unfortunately, the bounty hunter deceived them. He took the girl away and Kiesty knew how big that problem was. They were planning a great revenge and it was bound with specific time. If they did not comply with that exact time, they would wait for another ten years to do it.They were racing with the clock and here was the problem, unexpectedly, it came. Magnus Kiesty knew it the first time he saw the bounty hunter. They should have not trusted anyone else. The Magnus suddenly thought of Saturnio, 'That ugly monster owns this fault,'
"Oh dear, this can't be happening?!" Jace whispered under his breath. It was minutes ago when the two boys realized that the lady they were traveling with was missing. And those minutes were full of Jace cursing over and over again about how a failure they were to let this happen. They already left the inn and walked to the train station, both unsure of where to go and where to look for Eurie. Jace was asking every people on his way if they had seen Eurie, hoping she just woke up early, strolled down for fresh air, and got confused about the way back to the inn. Kaizer, on the other hand, was just quiet. He clearly didn't like what was happening; he even left the breakfast in the inn, untouched, very unusual. Even playful, Kaizer is a man of his word. He was raised strong as a prospective emperor of the biggest country in Zaenosh - of course, taking responsibility is his life motto. Responsibility - he was thinking about Uncle Sid, the helpful man from the world he didn't know, wh
When the sun burst out, the four left the inn to continue their journey. Last night, they had agreed to go to Niphan to surrender Eurie to his lost family, and now, they are almost halfway there. Eurie was mostly silent along the journey. She is trying to imagine her expectations, what will the people waiting for her look like? who are they to Elliot? will they be kind? will she remember them? She was also thinking carefully about the words she should say to these people who had waited for her for an entire thirteen years. She was nervous. She was asking herself about the negative things that might happen. What if these bounty hunters, as they called themselves, were wrong? What if she was not really the Elliot Cezanne they were looking for? What if they got angry and then threw her in a dungeon just like cliché medieval movies? What if those people were still holding a grudge against her family and they tried to kill her? It was like all the what-ifs were to
