After dropping the twins off at home from school, Alice, Nora's best friend left and hadn't returned. The evening had descended, casting shadows across the quiet neighborhood. Inside the house, Mia and Axel huddled together, bold and restless. Sensing their unease, Mia suggested going outside to wait for their mom.
