Emily’s POV

I woke up to an empty bed. A dull ache between my legs reminded me just how far last night had gone. But now… he was gone.

Opening my eyes, I let them drift over to his side of the bed, empty and untouched since he’d left. A strange, hollow pang twisted inside me. Sure, I didn’t exactly expect to wake up with him by my side—not with the way things were between us. Still, a part of me had wanted him here.

I tried to shake off the disappointment as I made my way to the bathroom, fighting the surge of anxiety rising within me. It had to be a one-time thing, right? Adrian didn’t strike me as the kind of man who’d stick around once he’d gotten what he wanted. I’d thought I was prepared for that. After all, I knew the drill. Nathan had done the same, slipping away slowly, bit by bit, until there was nothing left of us.

But Adrian… Adrian had made me feel things that Nathan never did. He made me feel seen, desired, understood in ways I hadn’t known I needed. And that scared me. I

Emily's POVI walked into the hotel lounge, where the soft clink of glasses and gentle hum of conversation underscored the elegance of the space. The warm, polished tones of the decor seemed to amplify the quiet confidence I carried as I moved. I hadn’t expected today’s meeting to be a big deal, just another step in the plans Jessica had initiated for our marketing expansion. But my confidence wavered slightly as I saw who awaited me—a man who seemed entirely out of place for a routine meeting.AlexAlexander, the CEO of one of the country’s leading media companies, was seated, watching me with a composed, attentive gaze. Broad-shouldered, sharply dressed in a tailored suit, he radiated the quiet charisma of a man used to commanding spaces much larger than this lounge. Why would the CEO himself show up for a mere business meeting?Despite my surprise, I kept my expression neutral, greeting him with a warm smile as I approached. “Bill Alexandra. Alexander,” I said, extending my hand. “T

Emily’s POVAlex didn’t flinch, standing up to shake Adrian’s hand, the faintest flicker of amusement in his eyes. “Good to see you, Adrian. Still commandeering every room you walk into, I see?”Adrian didn’t bother with pleasantries, only a sharp nod before he turned to me, his eyes a mix of challenge and something darker. “I didn’t know you were working with Media Dynamics. Last I checked, we were trying to keep things at the top-tier level.”Alexsmiled coolly. “Third-best media company in the country, actually. We’re not all giants, but we know how to deliver quality.” His tone was smooth, but I felt the tension rise between them. I was suddenly very aware that I was in the middle of a rivalry.Alexlaughed lightly, though there was a subtle edge to it. “Still holding grudges from college, Adrian? I can assure you, Ms. Emily, I’m here with every intention of making this partnership as beneficial as possible.”I felt my irritation flaring. “You’re both acting as if I don’t have a say

Emily's POVAs I entered the lobby, I immediately took in the situation. A young woman in an outrageously expensive designer suit was standing with her arms crossed, glaring down at a nervous junior staff member. Her voice, already raised, carried across the entire lobby, making heads turn. A small entourage of bodyguards stood just behind her, their stone faces scanning the room for any sign of trouble."Apologies!" the woman demanded, her voice sharp and unforgiving. "Apologies! How dare you tell me that I can’t have the VIP room I requested? Do you even know who I am?"The junior staff member who already ad tears streaming down her face, flinched at the onslaught, her cheeks reddening. I could see the panic in her eyes, as she shoook and continued to apologize , the woman—Vivian, as I recalled—spoke again."I’m not staying in a room unless it faces the garden! A regular room? Do you expect me to stay in a regular room?" Vivian's words cut through the air like a knife, laced with an

Emily's POVI returned to my office, the door closing with a soft click behind me. The quiet enveloped me, but it did little to calm the storm swirling inside. My fingers brushed the edge of my phone, still in my hand. I glanced at the screen, debating whether I should check the endless stream of emails or just bury myself in work. But the weight of Vivian’s words—her casual declaration that she was engaged to Adrian Blackwood—pressed on me like a weight I couldn’t shake off.I dialed Claire’s number quickly, not bothering to wait for it to ring long before I spoke."Hey, just checking in. You get home safe?" My tone was clipped, colder than I intended, but I couldn't help it. The anger and confusion still simmered beneath the surface, and I didn't want to deal with small talk right now."Yeah, I'm fine," Claire replied, her voice light and unconcerned. "I made it home just fine, don’t worry."I let out a breath, trying to rein in my emotions. I wa

Emily’s POVThe tires screeched as I sped out of the hotel’s compound, barely daring to glance in the rearview mirror. But, of course, he was there—following me. I could feel my heart pounding, could practically see him in my mind’s eye, gripping the wheel of his car, pursuing me with that infuriating determination of his. My hands clenched tighter, knuckles turning white as I pressed the gas pedal to the floor.I had no plan. I didn’t know where I was going, and it didn’t matter. I just knew that I couldn’t stop. Not for him. Not for anyone. I couldn’t face him, not after seeing Vivian wrapped around him, touching him so familiarly, as if… as if he was hers. My stomach churned at the thought.Ahead, the light turned red. I didn’t slow down. My foot stayed firmly on the pedal, my pulse racing faster than ever. I barely registered the blare of a horn as I sped through the intersection, narrowly avoiding a truck that roared by with a gust of wind so strong it shook my car. I gasped, but

**Emily’s POV** The rain poured relentlessly, soaking me to the skin as I thrashed weakly against the ropes binding my wrists. My heart pounded in my chest, and every slap of thunder echoed the terror racing through my veins. I screamed until my throat felt raw, my voice lost in the howling wind. “Shut her up!” one of the men growled, raising his hand again. I braced for the impact, but the sharp sting across my face was no less shocking. I bit my lip to keep from crying. They couldn’t see my tears. I wouldn’t give them the satisfaction. But I was losing hope. The dark room, the rough voices, the oppressive weight of fear—I didn’t think I’d make it out of here whole. Then I heard him. “EMILY!” Adrian’s voice cut through the rain like a blade. It wasn’t a call—it was a command, filled with frantic desperation and unyielding fury. “Did you hear that?” one of the men hissed, stepping toward the door. Another laughed. “Doesn’t matter. He’ll be dead before he gets to her.”

Adrian’s POVThe rain lashed against the windows of the penthouse, each droplet pounding as if it were trying to pierce through the glass. The storm outside mirrored the tempest inside me—a raging, relentless fury that no amount of whiskey could dull.I stood in the living room, swirling the amber liquid in my glass, but its heat did nothing to thaw the icy anger gripping my chest. Emily was safe now—that fact should have been enough. Yet every time I closed my eyes, I saw her. Bound. Bruised. Terrified. My Emily. The image tore through me, a fresh wound every time it resurfaced. They had dared to touch her, dared to hurt her, and now every fiber of my being demanded retribution. My knuckles throbbed, the raw skin splitting where I had thrown punch after punch. The satisfying crunch of bones under my fists should have brought me some peace. It hadn’t. Not when there were still unanswered questions. Adrian’s POVThe silence in the penthouse was unnerving. My steps echoed faintly as I moved through the dimly lit space, the weight of the night pressing down on me. Emily lay asleep in my bed, her delicate form wrapped tightly in the blankets, as if shielding herself from the world. Her face was calm now, a stark contrast to the fear and pain I’d seen etched into it only hours ago.My hands curled into fists at the memory. Those bastards had dared to lay a hand on her—to hurt her. Rage simmered beneath the surface, threatening to boil over, but I forced myself to exhale slowly, grounding the storm. I couldn’t afford to lose control now. Not when she needed me steady.I sat down on the edge of the bed, careful not to disturb her, though my gaze lingered on the faint bruises marring her skin. Her breathing was soft, even, a rhythm I found myself syncing to as the tension in my body eased ever so slightly. But the guilt? That didn’t fade.I leaned forward, resting my elbows on my knees a

  • Bound to the Ruthless Billionaire   Chapter 35 - Larry's POV

Larry Thorne’s POVIt was quiet now. The kind of quiet that used to drive me insane when I was younger, before I knew how to appreciate it. The twins had finally fallen asleep after I’d read them their bedtime stories, the girl clutching her stuffed rabbit and the boy sprawled out like he owned the world.Fatherhood. Who would have thought it?Four months ago, I couldn’t have imagined this life. Me, Larry Thorne, the reckless playboy who lived for booze, drugs, and women, now playing the role of a family man.Well, mostly.I leaned against the doorframe of the twins’ room, watching their tiny chests rise and fall with each breath. It was surreal, almost poetic, how much they had changed me. I didn’t touch alcohol anymore, and the mere thought of drugs made me sick. I wanted to be better—for them. They deserved that. And for all her quirks, Elise had stepped up too. She loved those kids like they were her own, doting on them in ways I never expected. There were moments when I caught her

Chapter 34Mirabel Vanroe’s POVThese past four months have definitely been the longest four years of my life, it has taken me through different phases, made me understand myself more and most especially, understand the surrounding situation. The time within those months ave made me understand that forgiveness be damned, new beginnings be damned. Those who said that opportunities come but once weren't lying. They definitely had won my shoes before coming up with those words of wisdom, because I had that opportunity to become a star after I graduated from college, and it was the only once of my life, because now, I was nothing but a crazy woman forced to wear a white uniform because the alternative would have been orange overalls in a damned cell with notorious roommates, but right now, I was stuck with crazy. The air in the delivery room felt thick, buzzing with nervous energy and the weight of what was about to happen."Push, Claire! You’re almost there!" The doctor’s voice cut through the haze of pain, grounding me in the moment.A sharp contraction tore through me, and for a brief moment, I thought I might lose my mind. • Bound to the Ruthless Billionaire   Chapter 31 - Larry’s POV

Larry's POVI never saw it coming—the sharp crack of bone that echoed through the room, a sound so foreign yet unmistakably mine. Pain flared up my leg, an incandescent burst of white-hot agony that blotted out thought and breath. I crumpled to the cold, hard ground, gasping, clutching at the shattered limb as if sheer will could piece it back together.“Damn it, Larry,” Vincent’s voice cut through the haze, cold and commanding. “You really should watch your step.”His words were laced with fury and satisfaction, a combination that made my stomach churn as much as the pain in my leg did. I bit down a groan, my breaths coming shallow and fast. Sweat pooled on my brow, and the room spun like a cruel carnival ride.“You didn’t have to do this,” I rasped, the words barely escaping through clenched teeth. My voice trembled, lacking conviction even as I spoke.Vincent crouched beside me, his face a mask of barely restrained rage. “Didn’t have to?” he echoed, his voice low and dangerous. “You

  • Bound to the Ruthless Billionaire   Chapter 30 - Vincent’s POV

Vincent’s POVThe moment the hacker delivered the final batch of files, I knew Mirabel’s reign of terror was over. Nine hours was all it took for her carefully constructed image to shatter. Years of deceit, manipulation, and cruelty now sat neatly categorized in front of me—subtle, strong, explosive.I leaned back in my chair, staring at the screen as the weight of the evidence settled over me. Bank transfers tied to bribery. Screenshots of threats she’d sent to assistants she bullied into silence. Even a recorded confession from one of her ex-managers, who detailed the torment she’d put him through before driving him to a breakdown. And then there were the videos. They were the kind of content no PR team could spin, the kind that would obliterate every shred of credibility she had left. Explicit. Damning. Ugly.I should have felt disgusted—or maybe even pity—but all I felt was cold, unrelenting anger.“Vincent?” Claire’s voice pulled me back. She was sitting on the couch, her legs cu

Claire’s POVExhaustion weighed heavily on me, my body begging for rest, but my mind refused to grant it. My eyelids drooped as I sat on the edge of the bed, my hand resting protectively over my belly. Vincent was pacing in front of me, his phone in one hand, a glass of water in the other. He had been trying to convince me to sleep for over an hour, but how could I close my eyes with so much at stake?“They said ten hours,” I muttered, shaking my head. “Ten hours, Vincent. That’s a lifetime right now.”“You’ll make yourself sick,” he countered, kneeling before me. He placed the glass in my hand and cupped my cheek with his other. His gaze was soft, yet determined. “Claire, please. Trust me. We’re almost there.”I wanted to believe him, but the knot in my stomach wouldn’t unravel. “I can’t. Not until this is over. Not until Mirabel’s lies are exposed, and she can’t hurt us anymore.” My voice cracked, and I hated how vulnerable I sounded.Vincent’s thumb brushed against my cheek, wiping

  • Bound to the Ruthless Billionaire   Chapter 28: Mirabel’s POV

Mirabel’s POVI paced the length of the room, my stilettos clicking sharply against the marble floor, their sound slicing through the tense silence. Every deliberate step mirrored the whirlwind in my mind. That insipid little video Claire had posted was still trending. A pregnant woman pleading for peace? Sympathy for her unborn child? It was a masterstroke of manipulation. And it was working. The pity I’d spent months crafting had evaporated overnight. My nails dug into my palms as I replayed her words in my head, each line dripping with saccharine innocence. If I announced my pregnancy now, it would look like a desperate bid for attention. Worse, it would backfire spectacularly. No one would side with me over a vulnerable, heavily pregnant woman. The public would eat me alive. But I wasn’t about to roll over and surrender. I’d played the victim long enough. Now, it was time to become the devil.I reached for my phone, scrolling through my contacts until I found the one I needed. My

It started with a faint sound—like the rustling of dozens of people gathering—and then it grew louder. By the time I made it to the window, I could see the crowd forming outside the gates, a sea of reporters, paparazzi, and random strangers pushing forward, trying to get in.I froze. Panic surged through me. I wasn’t sure what to do.Vincent, however, was on it in an instant. His phone rang with the speed of someone who had already anticipated this move. He snapped a few words into it, and within minutes, a team of security arrived. The scene outside was chaos, but it didn’t take long for the reporters to be pushed out of the way.Vincent had everything under control. And somehow, that made the whole situation feel even worse.
