Jess's POV.
Mom must be crazy to think I'd get married to an old man. She must be joking. I called Augie and he wasn't picking up. What the fuck is wrong with him. I paid him to leave Eleanor and now, he's misbehaved since the day Eleanor found out.
" That girl always wins," I said angrily and slammed a glass cup on the ground. It broke into pieces and slightly bruised my hand. That made me fume the most.
" Eleanor! You are never going to rest!"
I dashed angrily to her room. Banging it very hard.
" Eleanor, come out right now," I shouted. She may play dumb like she always did but she seems vulnerable these past few days.
" Eleanor, don't make me call Mom," I threatened. I banged the door again, harder this time. I am so angry. I started feeling pain in my hand and decided not to bang on her door again.
" Okay, since you won't come out, I'll force you to come by yourself". I went to meet Van
" Van, Eleanor wouldn't come out of her room and I've been shouting her name"
" Jess, give her a break. She'll come out soon enough and you can do anything to her"
" I want her outside now! Else I'll go and hurt myself" I said and left his room.
Van wouldn't disappoint, he ran after me holding my hands back
" I'll bring her out. Don't even think of hurting yourself, okay" he said as I went upstairs. I followed behind to watch the awful scene that was about to happen.
Van got to her door and knocked calmly
" Hey Eleanor, what's up with you? Open this door" he said. He got no reply and he said again, " I'm going to break your door down. And you know it. You'll be done for"
He got no response, though I thought he was kidding, but he wasn't. He started kicking the door very hard. After countless attempts, he told me to go get a knife.
I went as quickly as possible and gave him the small knife.
He used the knife in place of a key and fumbled with it. After a few minutes, he stood up, wiping sweat from his forehead.
He sighed. " You'd better not be in this room" he sounded brutal. He stepped back and asked me to go in when it was open. I nodded and opened the door, Eleanor thought she was smart.
" There you are-" my mouth hung open. The bed was well laid, the room smelt nice, and everywhere was just too tidy but most of all, Eleanor wasn't in.
" Eleanor!!!!" I shouted. Where are you hiding? I went to check the bathroom, nope. The store room, nope. Under the bed nope.
I went to check her wardrobe and everything was intact. So where was she?
I turned to Van, " She's not inside"
" I bet she isn't, if she was, she'd be dead by now." He hissed and went to his room.
But, it's unusual of her to go out and lock her door. Nothing was missing in her room. Just the purse she used to take around. And she had no money so she couldn't possibly go to a far place. Or was she with Emil? Maybe. Anyhow the case may be, she is coming back home.
I left and went to my room
Eleanor's POV
I had spent the night in this huge Mansion that was full of maids and guards. They treated me nicely and they all bowed. Even though I had no idea what I was doing. They took me to a very big room with a queen size bed. The assistant had told me that the man I'll have the contract with would be coming this morning so I could go to bed.
I am still lying on the bed, it felt like paradise. I checked the luxurious wall clock and it said 8 o'clock. It was the first day without nagging or the sounds of irritating half-siblings. It was the first day of perfect peace in my life.
I heard some beep on the other side of the door. Right, the door used passwords. The door opened and before my very own eyes, was the one and only Harrison Tolstoy. The famous rich billionaire. I couldn't believe it. As he walked in, I sat up. It was the first time I'd seen him in casual wear. From the black hair and the well-carved jaw. His broad shoulders and the beauty in his walk.
He was far more handsome than I saw on billboards. He approached me gently and sat on the sofa.
" Eleanor, is it?" he said.
I wasn't dreaming, it was real! I finally realized that home was behind me, and the world was ahead.
Eleanor's POV I watched dreamily as someone I'd regarded as a fallen angel sat across me in the room. I gulped as a reaction to his moving Adam's apple. It was driving me crazy. " E…yeah?" I sounded exactly as I was feeling. Nervous and surprised. " Eleanor, yes…that's me" I said with a faint smile. I quickly adjusted to a straight face as I saw my recipient wasn't smiling. Harrison looked at me for a long time as if he was trying to figure something out. " Does your family know you're here?" He asked. " No". Because why would I let them know? The peace I was experiencing cannot be compared to anything else. " Good, that disturbance wouldn't be needed". Sure it won't be needed, would never be needed. I was enjoying this company and the silence I brought to my disturbed heart. But there's something about this man. He is handsome, very handsome but I'm not fazed with his beauty as much as I was when he entered the room. He is so professional and he talks to me as if I'm an employ
Jess's POV.We have waited 2 days and Eleanor hasn't come back home. It was so frustrating that I had to do everything." Jess!!!!"" Leave me alone Mother! I can't do shit anymore" I screamed back. I can't allow these people to replace Eleanor with me. I lack the strength to do anything at the moment. We didn't know how much we had relied on Eleanor until now. Even Van now shouts at me. I can't possibly keep the kitchen, the sitting room, cook, wash, and everything else all by myself. I wondered how Eleanor did it.Stomped down to my room and dialed August's number. That bastard has been acting weird. He didn't pick my calls up. I angrily threw my phone on the bed, though I started getting worried as it bounced higher than I thought. I wasn't ready to get a new phone yet. Just about a few minutes to 9 am and I'm already so stressed. I went to August's house, I needed to escape this house and see what that fool was up to.August's door was closed but I barged in anyway." Why weren'
Harrison's POV.Mom's a funny human, talking about a child so quickly? The lady isn't even the person I want to get married to. Serena, I'll just hope Serena changes and comes back to me.I rested my back as I sat on the sofa in the sitting room of my first mansion. Eleanor did well today I must admit. She wouldn't be a problem.I guess. Nikki seems fond of her already. Dad thinks she has manners and Mom's asking for a child. I knew taking her to that house was a bad idea.Resting my head on my hand, I thought out loud. " Eleanor looked gorgeous today, I forgot to tell her that. The curves looked so nice and sexy, I almost forgot she was just an instrument to me."I wonder how she managed to tell those lies. I smiled, she sounded cute. Right, what was she thinking telling them how we met? If I hadn't stopped her, she might have just told them we were a contract couple.I sat up and read the reports that were on the center table. I noticed a particular shareholder being dormant. The Ca
Eleanor After speaking with Emil all day, things became boring and more boring. I walked the long road along the mansion, deceiving myself that I was jogging. When I was a child, I had always wanted to be a great athlete, but as I grew up, it turned out it was all just about stress and we'll still die. Why live a stressful life? Speaking of stress, I regretted taking the walk, I ended up walking farther than I should. Initially, it was boredom that got me into that position. Around 8:30, Emil called me. He kept on asking me to go to school tomorrow. I can't even picture it. The thought of seeing Jess and Van? Or being asked where I've been? They probably think I'm dead. I shuddered, thinking about Jess and Van being hectic. I'd rather sit in my cave. My chest was burning with the desire to know what was going to happen if I showed up in school, but a part of me keeps saying hell no! I was on my way to meet the maids when my phone rang. " Hey Emil, what's the eagle looking for on
EleanorThe drive home was a long one. Jay told me about all that he saw while I was in class. He probably hasn't been in a school setting before. It was a long day. The make-up and the dress and all, they all made me get tired so soon. Immediately I got to my room, I changed into my baggy shirt and pants. Once I was in my free zone, I picked up my phone and called Mr Harrison.I know, I have the guts to call him now. This time was different but he didn't pick up his call. I remembered last night. His voice was so husky and thick. I seldom get to see him, it would be nice to get his head on my lap, his beards in my fingers…I am married, maybe it's not a bad idea after all. Or maybe I'm creating the wrong fantasy.I went to the maids' corner and found them asleep. That was when I realized that most of these people didn't have anything to do because I was the only one in the house. There were about 50 maids in total, but Helen was the only one I can recognize." You all seem down, what
HarrisonIt was the last working day of the week. My father had called me several times to check on the school he had put in my name. Sometimes, I wondered why most of his properties were in my name.My brother is probably enjoying himself in New York, while I have to deal with all this shit father has started. The man is old enough, I must say.It was a hassle, walking through the crowds at the university. My guards had to push the crowd back so they wouldn't crush me to pieces. Most of whom were women. As I walked further, I saw a scene ahead. A lady being beaten to a pulp. Women and turning themselves into cheap trash. Well, it wasn't any of my business. The noise from these people was creating a lot of damage to me. I'll have to get new clothes once I get to the office.I came to a halt when I got to the lady that had been beaten. Her hair was ruined and her dress. I wondered what color it was supposed to be. She was held up by two guys while one guy stood in front. He bowed to me
HarrisonIt was shocking to hear Serena speak on the phone. Her voice was different and thicker. I laughed."Who's asking?", I replied. She was silent. Women are crazy. She had been cheating on me for as long as I can remember and had never put a sensible call through to check up on me since last year. And here she is, suddenly asking who Eleanor was.At last, Eleanor was doing the work she was supposed to do." It's Serena". Her voice was calm now compared to when she first spoke. Why'd she used a foreign number to call me in the first place?" I know it's you. Supposed wife. I am fine, thanks for asking"." Look, it's not like I don't want to call or anything, you know how busy-""- I've been, right?", I interrupted her. It was no use picking up a fight." I'll explain to you later, so first answer my question. Who the fuck is Eleanor!"This was interesting. Finally getting her attention. Maybe this would make her come back to her senses and come back to me." You want to know? Come
HarrisonI followed Jay as he drove Eleanor to wherever she was going. I wondered why she was so bent on going. I was in the car while they entered the building. Hours had passed and I didn't see Eleanor or Jay so I decided to take a sneak peek. The place was crowded so I didn't pass by, instead I went round the house to the poolside. People were there, most were kissing and taking pictures, and others were doing one thing or the other. And there was Eleanor, sipping a glass of wine at the edge of the pool. I stood at the corner and watched her look around. She was with no friends, neither was she playing a game nor did she look like she was enjoying the party. Why did she come to the party? I looked away to the other side, but by the time I looked back, Eleanor wasn't there. People were screaming and pointing to the pool, and that was when it struck me that Eleanor had fallen into it
