Chapter 47: Awake

Katrina’s POV

My eyes flashed open and I hissed at the brightness that hit my eyes. Muttering profanities under my breath, I shut my eyes and inhaled and exhaled deeply, striving to calm the redness in my eyes before unraveling them again.

Thankfully it got a bit better and I didn't flinch or hiss as my vision got adjusted. Sliding my fingers into my hair strands, I pushed it away from my face and blew out a breath to disperse the few strands that stuck to my lips.

At that point it hadn't quite registered where I was until I whirled away from the sun, a scream nearly breaking out of my lips at the vision I sighted.

He appeared so different in sleep, facial features smoothened, brows no longer creased as it was known to be, lips not in a thin line as always.

I was tempted to trace his nose line and feel the slight edge it had but snapped out of it. As the fog in my brain cleared, the realization of what had occurred l
