Katrina’s POV

The words flew past my ear as every other person in the room went still for a moment as the news settled in their system. Amanda inhaled a deep breath and nodded at the guard who exited after.

"You all heard the guard," she said in a loud tone. "Round up whatever it is you are doing and leave as soon as you can."

"If you can't round up everything then pack up and leave," she issued out the command, clapping her hands rapidly for emphasis.

The men whom I was about to work with began climbing down the ladder and packed up their equipments. I tried to help but they shook their heads no. They didn't appear familiar and I wondered where they were from and if they were humans, wolves or lycans.

Another side effect of not having a wolf, I couldn't sense or figure out simple things like that. Except if I was told or if a situation came up that somehow revealed it to me.

"Katrina!" Amanda yelled my name all of a sudden and I jumped, wondering what the problem was this time.

Katrina’s POV“Umm that would be a lie,” Amanda said and broke out in a hysterical laugh which to me showed her nervousness. “Who would feed you such information?”“Are you indirectly calling me a liar?” The man who spoke earlier questioned. His tone icy as his statement held animosity. “I’m the Lycan King and I have people at every corner ready to give me whatever information I seek.”“When they don't?” He implored, making sure there was silence for some moments. “I tend to investigate matters myself. This is to say everything I speak of has been thoroughly checked and confirmed before I take action”“Pssss,” an object poked my back and I stared behind me to see the maid with a tray following me. “Why haven't you gone in?”“Ummm, I-”“Move,” she jabbed me with the tray. “You are not the only one who hates to be scolded and I’m in no mood for your shenanigans.”Having no choice I used my right elbow while tightly holding the tray of food and bent the door handle. I heard a click and p

Katrina’s POV“Then tell us,” Shaun declared after sharing a quick glance with his Elders and Amanda. “Is there someone you admire?”“I wouldn't use the word admire,” he corrected as I was almost at the door. “But yes, I have my eyes out on someone.”“Who might that be?” Luca one of the elders implored.“Her,” Davos announced as my hand reached the handle. For the third time since I came to serve, the room grew quiet and I felt eyes digging into my back. Feeling compelled to turn around, I did just as Amanda screamed, “Her?!”“What?” I blurted the question before I could think, the empty tray in my hand shaking.“Yes,” Davos affirmed as I fully faced him from a distance, his posture relaxed in a short sleeved brown and black designer shirt and black slacks. His chin held high, a small smile playing on his lips. “Why?” Shaun interrogated.“I have my reasons,” he replied, golden eyes I never knew existed raking my form, his gaze still intense and it came off as if he could see beneath

Katrina’s POVI halted and turned to my left, my eyes narrowing in confusion as I asked. “Why?”“I can see you forgot the motto in this pack,” the guard murmured in reply.“Which is?” I questioned, getting more confused. “I didn't know there was a motto we abide by.”“I guess no one told you then,” the guard scoffed as he appeared at me. “You are no newcomer and should have known it.”“Well I don't so fill me in,” I exhaled in a breath. “The Alpha and Amanda don't like to be kept waiting.”“Which should I do so?” He queried, finger tapping the back of his hand as he held both palms in front of him.“What?” I asked, getting more confused by the second.“You asked me to go ahead and fill you in,” the guard reminded. “I’m trying to ask which question should I do that to.”“Both,” I declared.“The motto I was referring to, goes like this,” the guard started. “Do as they say, asks the questions later or face their wrath regardless.”My eyes widened in surprise at his statement while it san

Katrina’s POVIf I thought I was in hell and being treated like trash before then I could say what I was experiencing was a little help compared to the one I was in after Davos Ruther’s visit. The insults and maltreatment had tripled and I was barely managing to stand on my two feet thus all strength was drained from my body before the day came to an end.Aside from the chores and and heavy lifting, Amanda had set aside an hour of the day for me to be beaten up. There was no specific method however I was called into her office at a specific time of the day to receive whatever she had in store for me.The first day was me being held by some maids while she laid me down on the desk in her room and flogged my back with a whip that of course left marks and bruises on my back. Tears poured out of my eyes till there was no wetness left in them. After that I wasn't treated with even an ounce of care or given time to grieve or get adjusted to the pain I was inflicted, instead I was commanded

Katrina’s POV“I’m sad and happy you are leaving us,” Vanessa said as she escorted me to the black rangerover packed in front of the house, Amanda and Shaun standing a distance away, watching us.“Same way I’m having mixed feelings,” I confessed in a sigh and reached for my satchel which she insisted to help me carry.I had filled her in briefly on what was going on while I put whatever valuables I had in the sizable leather bag. It was difficult for her to understand, nevertheless she felt anger and remorse at my situation. She ended up apologizing after our little talk and I told her the truth about not bearing grudges at her actions however I made it clear that we could never be close again even if our paths managed to cross in the future. It was a far fetched thought to think about crossing parts, but there was only a small bit we could predict about life. Unexpected things could happen at unexpected times. My life was a living testament to that and though it was normal for me to

He granted the vehicle a salute regardless of the tinted glass aa we rode past the barrier. The image that surrounded me appeared surreal as we entered the kingdom. Katrina’s POVDinner went smoothly and wasn't as tense as I had thought, the only strange person to me was Steven who was introduced as a bestfriend, nonetheless I found him to be easygoing.I noticed Davos’s eyes on me all through the hour we spent enjoying our meal and sharing conversation. He was in no way subtle about his lustful gaze and it was too noticeable for anyone to ignore. At some point Mathew had to excuse himself, his words being that he needed his food to digest before he puked at the amount of sexual heat he was sensing from his king.I was a werewolf, however there were a lot of things I didn't know or experienced like other beings of my kind. Not having a wolf like most people dealt with me and made me feel inferior and lack basic knowledge.Being surrounded by Lycans at the dinner table and mostly at the new environment was weird and scary all at once. They appeared to be larger and more sharper in senses than normal werewolves.Truth be told I was taken aback when

Katrina’s POVMy heels clicked away on the reflective and shiny marble glass as I walked beside her toward a corner where I could perceive the scent of food and noted the door to my right was the kitchen.I couldn't quite believe in the past 24 hours I hadn't entered the kitchen. A place which was my usual spot where I did lots and lots of chores and underwent different series of physical and mental abuses.“What’s wrong Miss?” Maddy asked all of a sudden and I jolted as she poked my arm lightly, prompting me to realize I had come to a stop, my vision trained on the kitchen door.“Nothing,” I beamed and moved my head from side to side, partly in denial and partly to shake of the gloomy thoughts and images that flooded my mind on those few seconds. “Let’s go.”She bobbed her head at me and we trudged the rest of the distance to a corner, there was no door but a corner and I caught sight of a long table before I spotted the company around it.“I leave you here Miss,” Mandy declared, bow

  • Bound to the Alpha’s will   Chapter 25: Dinner Preparations

Katrina’s POV"Okay, which should I choose?" I asked no one else but myself as I stood, hands on hips, observing the dresses I had spread out on the mattress.Different designs and colors of dresses lay before me. The kind of dresses I had only seen on Amanda, Gina or other rich females back at Shaun's pack. Now the dresses were in my vision and all mine for whenever I wanted to wear them. It was evening and the sun had almost set completely, casting an orange hue in the sky.The clock read 5:23 pm and I had little over an hour to get ready. A maid had come over during my nap and informed me there would be an official dinner in the evening.I was a bit pained at the interruption thus it was the first time I had gotten to taking a nap. Amanda never let me catch a breather not to talk of having time to rest during the day.Sometimes even at night I wouldn't be able to as a result of pain and overthinking or most times the fear of Shaun coming in to force himself on me.I had never felt

Katrina’s POVEvery ounce of oxygen left my form as his statement washed over me. I literally froze, every bone in my body unmoving and my heart beating too fast I hoped it wouldn't beat out of my chest. His gaze roamed over my face, observing every little detail and noting it to memory. I felt trapped by not only his arms but his irises too and the meaning in his statement.I gulped, eyes too wide for my face in shock and understanding. My fingers curled at my sides as shiver ran through me. For some seconds I wondered how his words could have such effect on me without him even touching me yet.The man was as ruthless and scary as I’d heard. Only the minutes I had spent in close proximity with him had told me that, so why was I feeling that way with him?“Choose your medicine wisely Katrina,” he murmured in a smirk which I was beginning to think was his signature look.“Hmmm?” He hummed when I didn't utter anything in response, another shudder running through me in the span of a minu

Katrina’s POV“Open,” I called at the door as I halted my task of brushing my brows, an action I had never done in my life. Ariana had volunteered to pluck my brows the previous night. I refused initially but she told me it’d be worth it. After some persuasion, I gave in and almost regretted doing that at the jabs of pain I felt at each pull of my facial hair.In the end, the result was rewarding as she had said and the pain was nothing compared to all the hurt I had gone through all my life so I sucked it up and was happy at the change it made on my face as my sight caught the mirror that morning. We spent some time over dinner which she had brought and I was surprised when she joined me in eating. When I asked, her response was simply, she was hungry and she knew I was lonely so she came to keep me company and made me feel at ease. After dinner she pointed out the names and uses of the content in bottles, containers and tubes that were on my vanity table and in the bathroom.I was

Katrina’s POVFor the first time in as long as I could remember, I had what people called a luxury bath. Different scents filled the bathroom as I rinsed my skin from the soap which I used to scrub my body clean. At some point I discovered I had been crying which didn't surprise me thus I was so overwhelmed with joy and relief as I did so. I knew it was too early to be happy, nonetheless my body and mind couldn't help succumb to the peace and calmness of the new environment I had found myself in.The past hour felt like heaven and I could say the difference was clear from where I was coming from. Exiting the bathroom, I strolled to the bed, my heart clenching in warmth and brow lifting in surprise as I caught sight of white cotton shorts and a blue vest laid out on the mattress.Already having an idea who’s action it was, I simply dropped the towel I had wrapped around me and lowered my body on the bed.
