“You’ll regret this,” Niall spat, clutching his nose, but Romer didn’t even bat an eye. His was already focused on me.

“Are you okay?” he asked softly, while he turned to face me. His voice was gentle, in a big contrast to the tension of moments before.

I nodded, still in shock, unable to bring any sound out of my throat. The sight of Romer standing there, his eyes filled with concern, made my heart ache in ways I couldn’t explain.

Some time passed, and just as I began to feel like the night was settling down, the club doors swung open. Alpha’s guards stormed in, their expressions severe as they made their way toward us.

“What’s going on?” I asked in confusion.

Two of the guards stepped forward, with their eyes eyes fixed on us, and one said “The Alpha wants to see you both.”

I turned to Romer, with a growing bad feeling in my chest, knowing the night just turned longer and more annoying as I expected.
