TROY’S POV.

The journey back home was a long and exhausting one. We had settled with Antonio, who had promised to keep our adventure a secret, at least not without paying him extra to remain silent on the issue.

Throughout the journey, Blue had been struggling with bouts of sickness, her worry for Alex weighing heavily on her mind. I could see the concern in her eyes, and her constant fretting about Alex’s well-being was hard to ignore. I did my best to provide reassurance, telling her that everything would work out in the end. I promised her that once we reached home, I would take it upon myself to gather more information about Alex’s condition and whereabouts.

Once we got home, I gently guided Blue to bed, telling her to rest.

"Blue, you need to rest now," I said softly, guiding her towards the bed. "I will take care of finding out more about Alex, I promise."

Blue looked at me with gratitude and whispered, "Troy, please find him. I can not bear not knowing if he is okay."

TROY’S POV.The room was filled with pressure as the healers worked hard to bring Alex back. His body bore the signs of a severe beating, with bruises and injuries scattered across him. As I studied him closely, I noticed a mix of old scars and newer wounds that seemed to still sting. I wondered about the people and circumstances that could cause such harm to Alex. The room was quiet except for the hushed whispers of the healers."Do you know who the attackers are?" Xena said while looking at his body. We were the only ones now left in the room, the healers had done all they could, and it was now left for him to heal by himself."I do not know. I have not heard of cases where people, especially humans, endure such beatings in a long while," I responded thoughtfully. "I must confess, I am surprised he is still breathing, considering the severity of his injuries. Most humans I know are quite fragile and would have been dead by now," Xena remarked."You are absolutely right," I nodded.

TROY’S POV.Five days passed, and Alex remained in a deep unconscious state. Blue and I decided she should take it easy and not worry too much about Alex, especially because she is pregnant, and her health needs extra care during this time.I made sure Blue had time to rest and think, assuring her that things would work out, Each day brought a bit more progress in Alex’s healing.“Hi, Blue. There is some tea,” I said, handing her the cup. “The priestess said it would be good for your system.”“Thanks,” she replied, taking a sip from the cup.“Do you want anything else?” I asked. She shook her head, signaling a quiet decline. Blue had been unusually quiet during this period, and it deeply concerned me. She had not spoken much since the incident, and I know she still blames herself.“Blue, you know you can talk to me, right?” I said, sitting down beside her.“I have nothing to talk about,” she said, avoiding eye contact."Are you sure?" I asked once more.Blue shook her head in response

ALEX’S POV.I have been in the hospital for over two weeks and I’m getting tired of being here, Blue has been coming to visit regularly and I’m tired of her blaming herself for what happened to me. I can’t seem to remember much from what happened and to be honest I would rather it remains in my past, I have still not been able to walk with my legs and it’s really annoying that I have to depend on everyone for basic stuff. I am tired of the pity looks that everyone gives me and most especially I am tired of staying in this goddamn hospital, it feels so depressing. The doctor came in to check on me again."How are you feeling, Mr. Alex?" he asked."I am fine. I'm doing good as new. When am I going to be discharged from here?" I questioned."Once you are fine, we will discharge you," he explained."That is exactly what you said last week, and I already told you I am fine," I expressed my frustration, wanting to leave the confines of the hospital."We just need to monitor your vitals. BLUE’S POV.I knocked on Alex's door, and a young lady, whom I assumed was his new nurse, appeared. Troy had mentioned earlier that this new nurse would attend to him from time to time."Hi, I am Blue, and you must be Nurse Emily," I said, extending my hand."So nice to see you, Luna," she replied, shaking my hand and leading me into the house."Where is Alex?" I asked, noticing he was not in the living room."Oh, he is in his bedroom reading. He does not be disturbed, but I am pretty sure he would not mind your presence," Nurse Emily explained."How is his treatment progressing so far ?" I inquired."He is responding well, and I am confident he will be back on his feet in no time," Nurse Emily replied."And how is it going for you?" I asked with concern.Nurse Emily sighed, "It's a bit challenging given the circumstances, but I hope he warms up to me eventually.""He is usually a nice person, am sure he will warm up to you eventually," I reassured her with a smile.Just then, the

Ever since Blue passed her first trimester, she has been obsessed with grapes, a fruit she had told me she never really liked but now it tastes Lyle the best thing the world had to give and I had to always make sure it was always available in the house or she would throw a tantrum. She turned to face me as soon as she sensed my presence, “Hey baby, I have missed you,” she said and beckoned me to come close so she could hug me. After we hugged, I kissed her forehead and then her belly."How is our little sunshine doing?" I asked with a smile, but Blue ignored me and pouted. "What is wrong?" I asked, attempting to figure out how I unintentionally offended her within seconds of arriving."What did I do wrong?" I asked again, reaching out to touch her shoulder, but she shifted away. BLUE’S POV. I stretched on my bed and used one of my hands to find Troy but he was no longer in bed with me. Instead, I saw a cute little note on the side of my bed. Telling me that he did not wish to wake me from my beauty sleep because I looked so beautiful and by the time I was awake he would have left the pack already and how much he loved me. I looked at the note for a while and mentally cursed Troy for not waking me up because I would have loved to see him before he left. I could hear the sound of plates and movement downstairs, so I knew chef Danny was already around, I made my way downstairs to see both Mary and Chef Danny having a conversation. Mary turned to me with a smile and asked, “hope we did not disturb you from your sleep?” she asked. “ oh not at all,” I answered “ has Troy left already,” “He left about fifteen minutes or so again, he asked us not to disturb you because he said you looked so peaceful,” Mary said. “I would have loved to see him before he left ,”

As soon as I saw Blue lying in the hospital bed, my heart broke into pieces and I went to her side.“Oh, Blue I'm so sorry, “ I said while hugging her.“It's okay, I'm fine, we are both fine,” she responded with a small smile.“Are you feeling any pain,” I asked, checking her body to find any visible injury but I saw none.“Not really, I feel so much better now,” she replied. “I'm so glad you are okay now, when Xena told me what happened to you, I was so worried and stressed, I thought I was about to lose you and our baby,” I explained.“Troy, we are alright. Chapter 138 – Blue’s POVThe world outside felt eerily calm as we prepared to set out. Emily’s sobs echoed in my mind as I stood by the window, staring into the night. It was the calm before the storm—a silence that weighed heavily on all of us.Troy’s presence beside me was steadying. He placed a hand on my shoulder, his grip firm and reassuring. “We’ll get him back, Blue. We’ll bring Nathan home.”I nodded, steeling myself. “And we’ll finally end this madness.”Emily sat nearby, her face pale and drawn, clutching the last remnants of hope she had. Her brother’s life hung in the balance, and we couldn’t fail.Troy stepped forward, the sword from his uncle’s chest now sheathed at his side. “This might be more than just saving Nathan. If Emily’s right, this man—the one behind all of this—could be tied to the secrets of the cult. He might even be the one who’s been orchestrating the attacks against our pack.”I swallowed hard, the weight of his words sinking in.“You don’t think…?” I he

EMILY’S POV. Humming a turn mindlessly, I strolled along the lonely part leading to my house. It was a shortcut that I had not used in a while but today I decided to take that lane because I was exhausted and needed to rest. While walking I noticed an unusual sound and I turned around to see a man standing beside me. He was wearing all black and wore a mask too, so I could only see a part of his face. “Hey, “ I said trying to hide my fear, it was strange to see another person walking in the same lane because it's usually quiet and nobody uses it as much. He did not say anything, so I kept walking fast and trying to be on high alert. The man eventually caught up with him. At this point, the hair on the back of my neck was standing and I did not know if to run or pretend to be brave. So I choose the latter.“Are you sure you did not take anything from that room,” he asked.“What are you talking about?” I asked, walking faster, trying to get away from this creep. “You know exactly

I entered the room to find Troy was already there, gently rocking one of the babies side by side and whispering soothing words to both of our little ones. I placed my hands on his shoulder, thankful for his help before going to carry the other baby to breastfeed.I settled into the nearby rocking chair, cradling our second baby close, and chuckled softly. “They like having a lot of attention, don’t they?”He nodded, his gaze shifting between our babies. “They do,” he said, and then smiling softly, he continued ” They are just like their mama, always wanting all of my attention,”“What do you mean?” I pouted, “I definitely do not disturb like this kids,”“Whatever you say, darling, whatever you say,” he responded and kissed my forehead. “They took after their father, not me,” I protested. “I was a sweet little girl growing up and never cried over nothing,” I said proudly.“Even that statement sounds like a lie,” he said cockil

I noticed she seemed uncomfortable and bothered about something.“Good morning, Blue,” she greeted, “I am sorry for disturbing you but there is something that I need you to see,” “What is that ?” I asked, curious.“It does not look like much at first sight but I think it holds the answers we have been looking for and hopefully it will help us trace the people who experimented on Alex,” Emily said, then unzipped her backpack and brought out some drawings with strange drawing and a green book which looked like something I have seen before. “Where did you get that book from?” I asked while pointing at it. “My brother gave it to me, he said Alex had lent it to him before his death,” she paused studying my reaction, and then continued, “At first glance, it looks like it has nothing to do with anything that has been happening lately and just any regu

Cause I would have sworn you were going deaf,” I spat in anger.“Easy there now Child, your anger is too much and we don't like it when. People visit our arena with that much anger, it disrupts the balance of my realm,” she said calmly. The way she sounded calmly made me even more angry.“What do you want Child,” she asked softly, “I am guessing I already know why judging from your anger but I would like to hear you speak for yourself,” “Why did you not inform me earlier, you said you w

EMILY’S POV. I walked up very early in the morning clutching tightly the bag which contained Alex’s drawing and potentially the evidence we needed. I heard the bag tightly throughout the time, afraid that it might disappear or someone would come to steal it from me. I needed to speak with Blue as soon as possible and I went into the shower for a long bath to calm my tired nerves. I got out of the shower and dried my hair when I noticed something was missing. I looked around and the bag was nowhere to be found. I started to panic. Had someone broken into my house when I was bathing? I quickly searched the entire house when I saw Nathan, my younger brother holding the paper in his hands and the other scattered on the ground.“Nathan, what are you doing ?” I shouted at him which startled him. He turned to look at me and immediately he saw my angry expression and said “I am so sorry Emily,” he asked. “What the hell is wrong with you,” I scolded, while arranging all the paper together

The mention of Alex, felt like she put a dagger through my heart and I could feel the intensity of the pain I had been trying so desperately to avoid and I started crying again. Veronica walked up to me and started hugging me and patting my back. “Is okay sweetie?” he whispered into my ears as I cried into her shoulders, “let it all out?” I sobbed uncontrollably into her arms for what felt like forever. “I don't know if I would ever stop to feel this pain?” I sniffed and I lifted myself from her warm hug to look at her. “I don't know if this pain would ever go away, Veronica. It hurt too much,”“I understand you,” she said as she tucked a loose strand of my hair be
