The soft hum of a jazz playlist filled Raymond’s office, blending with the quiet tapping of his fingers against his desk. The floor-to-ceiling windows of his corporate tower overlooked the Los Angeles skyline, but his mind wasn’t on the view.

His assistant, Logan, stood by the doorway, a tablet in his hand, shifting uneasily. Raymond barely glanced up. “If it’s about the board meeting, push it to tomorrow. I don’t have the patience for their nonsense today.”

“It’s not about the meeting, sir,” Logan said, taking a step forward. “It’s about… Miss Bennett.”

“And who the hell is Miss Bennett?” Raymond snapped.

The past few days had been unbearable for him. He thought he had overcome his anger issues, but lately, everything was resurfacing. Small things irritated him, he snapped at everyone, and he preferred to be left alone. Coming to the office felt like a burden he had to endure daily. If the company weren’t his, he would have disappeared by now.

❗How would you feel if your husband invited his mistress over on your honeymoon?❗ ~~~~~~~~ The grand hall doors swung open, revealing the most beautiful bride of the year standing at the entrance with her father. Her expression was blurred by the piercing rays of the sun. She hesitated, her eyes scanning the surroundings. Today was supposed to be the happiest day of her life—if only the marriage was for love, and not some damn business arrangement. "Compose yourself, Eureka," her father whispered, tightening his grip on her trembling hand. "You know what will happen if you mess things up. We will be doomed forever." His tone was laced with both anger and fear. This marriage was their last hope, and if Eureka messed up, only God could define their fate. "Let’s keep going. Don’t get the crowd suspicious," he added, pulling Eureka along, though her steps faltered. She couldn’t unsee what she had just seen. Her supposed groom was in the dressing room, kissing Cassandra hungrily as if his life depended on it.“You are all I’ve ever wanted, Cassy,” Raymond’s words were soft, almost inaudible as he pulled away from the kiss.“Then why did you have to choose her?” Cassandra’s voice was faint, almost choking on her words. “If you love me, why did you have to marry that slut?”Each word pierced Eureka’s heart like a sharp knife.“I’ve told you about it. My father forced this union, and that opportunist is taking advantage,” Raymond spat, his tone laced with disgust. It tore Eureka apart from where she stood. “If it were up to me, I’d choose you over and over again. I just can’t wait for this façade to end. We’ll be together again, trust me,” he assured Cassandra, his words a soothing balm against her troubled expression. And to think Cassandra was Eureka’s best friend made it all the more painful. This was her moment; she had to enjoy it to the fullest. Even though she didn’t want this union, it was still her wedding, and she couldn’t let Raymond’s foolishness ruin it for her. “Let’s take pictures,” Eureka told him, her smile unwavering as the photographer stepped forward. “I have important things to do,” Raymond said, walking away from her. She felt a pang in her chest as she watched him exchange pleasantries with his business partners who had just arrived. Marriage was supposed to be a lifetime commitment. How was she supposed to manage it? She excused herself and went into the dressing room. The moment she took a seat in front of the vanity table, wiping the tears that slid down her face, her mother appeared behind her. “I thought I told you not to invite her?” Raymond’s father scolded as he pulled Raymond aside. “What will society say when they see your ex-girlfriend on your wedding day? Why were you smiling with her? Why were you even talking to her?” His father was furious, and Raymond couldn’t afford to enrage him further. “I didn’t invite her, Dad,” Raymond said, his voice sharp. “She’s the bride’s best friend, so she has every right to be here.” “If you know she’s the bride’s best friend, then why are you frolicking around her?” his father’s tone remained tight, his eyes burning with rage. “Listen, Raymond. I won’t have you misbehave on your wedding day. If you know what’s good for you, stay away from Cassandra. Act like you’ve never seen her in your entire life. It was late in the night when they arrived. The room was dimly lit with a soft blue lamp. Balloons, ribbons, and elegant bold lettering proclaiming “Happy Married Life” adorned the wall above the headboard. Rose petals forming a heart shape were on the floor, with a lit candle in the middle. Raymond stood still, taking in the breathtaking view of the room, but to him, it felt awkward. His face held nothing akin to admiration but a sneer. “Why is the room dark?” he groaned, slamming his fist against the wall to turn on the white light. “Why is the room littered? I thought they said they fixed everything. Rita!” he yelled, calling for the housekeeper. Rita rushed in almost immediately, her breath quickened. “You called me, Sir,” she said, her voice faltering. Out of tiredness, Eureka sat on a stool, taking off her jewelry while ignoring her husband’s rantings. “Why is the room littered? What’s all this? Look at the bed. Why are there flowers on the bed? “What are you doing here?” Eureka snapped, still holding the door ajar. Cassandra raised an eyebrow. “Won’t you at least allow your best friend to enter?” Cassandra said sarcastically, a pretentious smile fueling her face. Eureka’s blood boiled at the mention of her being her best friend. “Best friend indeed. You’re not worth being an acquaintance. A wolf in sheep’s clothing, that’s what you are. Now turn around and get lost,” Eureka said, pointing her finger angrily behind Cassandra. “Baby,” Cassandra cried as she sighted Raymond coming their way. “Your little vixen doesn’t want to let me in.” The force at which Raymond pulled Eureka away from the door made her stumble back, almost falling. “Babe,” Raymond smiled, embracing Cassandra with all the warmth he possessed. “I didn’t know your flight would arrive so early. Eureka couldn’t believe her ears as she stared at him, her chest heaving with anger and frustration. “I hate you, Raymond,” she muttered, her voice barely audible, her eyes stern on his. “But leaving this room for Cassandra? Raymond’s intense gaze softened as he looked toward the door, where Cassandra stood yawning. “I’m sleepy, baby. Go get my bags from the other room,” she said, walking toward the bed.“I’m coming,” Raymond replied, sounding like the devoted lover he was, before leaving the room.“How does it feel, Eureka?” Cassandra’s sleepy tone vanished, replaced by a sharp, taunting one as she settled on the bed. “I can easily command your dear husband to do whatever I want. The sooner you pack up and leave this room, the better for everyone. This is my honeymoon now, and you’re the unwanted third party,” she

  • Bound by the CEO: Torn by Lies   Her Return

A black luxury car moved smoothly through the streets, but inside, Eureka sat stiffly, her fingers tightening around the cool leather seat. Los Angeles felt foreign and strange. She knew she had grown up here—at least, that’s what she had been told—but there was no warmth in the familiarity. No sense of belonging. She turned to the boy sitting beside her. Kaiden had his earbuds in, his sharp features illuminated by the city lights flickering through the window. He was quiet, staring outside as if trying to piece together something from the scenery, just as she was.Eureka swallowed, tears filling her eyes. Her son. She knew she had given birth to Kaiden, yet sometimes, when she looked at him, she felt disconnected. There was something about his features that tugged at her, like a puzzle piece that didn’t quite fit.The doctors had told her not to force it, that her memories might never return. The accident had erased parts of her past, and she had to learn to live with the blank space

He stood and walked over. “You can go stay at your mom’s or Jared’s—I don’t care. Stetson stays with me,” he declared, pushing her aside and carrying the baby. “Go on. I’ll tell the driver to drop you off.” “You’re so mean, Charlie! Stetson is my baby! How can I live without him?” she sobbed, her resolve faltering. “Who knows? You can visit us once in a while,” he smirked, heading out. “Okay,” she said, blocking his path. “I won’t go. Just hand over my child,” she pleaded, tears rolling down her cheeks. “Not so fast. Why don’t you go out there and tell that loser outside the truth? We are getting married, and Stetson was never his child.” Melissa stumbled back, her back hitting the door. “You can’t make me do that.” “I’m not making you—just a suggestion,” he said. “Charlie, please,” she begged. “I don’t want to go back to Jared, but I don’t want him to think I fooled him. Let me show him his child, just once.”

A month had passed since Melissa agreed to marry Charlie, and they had been actively preparing for their wedding. Melissa wanted a simple wedding. She didn’t want outsiders witnessing their union—just family members and a few friends. Currently, Charlie opened the car door for her as they arrived at Melissa’s mother’s house. She stood for a moment, gazing at the home she once called hers. She wasn’t sure if her mother would throw her out again. The last time she was here, she had promised to become the woman her mother always wanted. Was getting married truly the beginning of that journey? She took a deep breath as Charlie held her hand, reassuring her.“She’s still your mom,” he said. Melissa nodded, and they headed inside. One of the maids let them in, then went upstairs to get her mother.“Your house is beautiful,” Charlie whispered. Melissa smiled, surveying the living room. Nothing had changed much. It was just as she remembered, except it was quieter. This had once been her hom

Melissa pinched her arm, hoping she was still dreaming, but no. She was fully awake, and Charlie’s words only made her feel lightheaded. “What… what do you mean?” she asked, her voice trembling.A sly smirk spread across Charlie’s face as he stared at her. “What were you thinking, Lisa?” he asked sharply, making her recoil. “Stetson is my son, and nothing can change that.”“Stop saying that!” Melissa snapped, her temper flaring. “Don’t make me go crazy, Charlie. I’m just respecting you.”“Oh, you are?” he leaned forward, his dark hazel eyes locking onto hers. “Why don’t you lose it? Let’s see how far you can go,” he challenged her, then leaned back again.Melissa scratched her neck, trying to calm herself. Her temper was bad, but Charlie’s could be worse. Though she hadn’t seen him lose control, she had heard stories.“Fine, tell me what you mean by Stetson is your son,” she said, her voice calmer.“I adopted him,” he said curtly, reclining against the headbo

Melissa didn’t look up as she felt his gaze piercing her, making her feel exposed. “Look at me, Lisa.” His commanding tone sent shivers down her spine, and she found herself lifting her eyes to meet his. She dared not defy that simple order from her charming boss. He was eerily handsome, and every time she got close to him like this, her heart felt like it might explode. Her body reacted so sensitively to his touch that she wondered if she was truly in love with Jared. When her eyes met his, her pulse quickened.“Tell me what you want,” he said, his voice low and seductive as his hand brushed against her arm. It was hot in the room, but Melissa was certain she felt goosebumps form where he touched her.“I… I wanted… us to…” her voice trembled. Charlie leaned in, his lips barely inches from hers. I would have given up without your support,” she said gratefully. “It’s nothing. I’m happy you made it through,” he smiled, grabbing her hand and kissing her knuckles. “I’ll always be here, okay?” “You missed your presentation because of me.
