Anila POV Outside the bedroom doors were golden plaques; one of which had my name on it. I knew right away that meant this was my bedroom. I was amazed at how prepared this school was for my arrival. I opened the door, and my eyes grew large as I stepped into the beautiful room. There was a full bed already made with a purple and black bedspread. The window that overlooked the campus had long silky, transparent purple drapes that reached the ground. There was a plush purple carpet in front of the bed and the floors were hardwood. There was a closet and a dresser along with a couple of nightstands beside my bed. On the far side of the room was a loveseat and an empty bookshelf. This was three times the size of my room at home. Sitting on my bed was a card that I reached for immediately. On the front of the card, it said: Welcome to Lunar Academy Anila Montgomery! My eyes grew large as I opened the card to read the inside. It read: You are beginning a new magical journ
Harley POV Anila Montgomery. I had been waiting for my mate since I first shifted at 19 years old. I thought that once I got my mate, I would be happy and that would be it. But I wasn’t anticipating my mate to have two other mates. One of which is my best fucking friend. As soon as Xaden claimed Anila, that was it for me. I was out, completely. I couldn’t stab my best friend in the back. It wasn’t in my nature. Zach, on the other hand, had no issue doing just that. I stared at the scene before me with disgust. Anila was pressed against the wall with Zach inches from her lips. Her eyes were closed, and she looked content being between him and the wall. She looked as if she wanted to kiss him just as badly as he wanted to kiss her. The philandering smirk on the werewolf's face made me want to crack his skull because he smiled at me like I was missing out on something. Despite backing off, I couldn’t help that insistent and annoying tugging in my chest, a voice that const
Anila POV I stepped back as four more girls rushed into the room with large and curious eyes. My heart was pounding rapidly in my chest as they all turned to face me. The first girl, with the feathers, stepped closer to me and reached her hand out for me to shake. “My name is Penny Penson, and I am your roommate!” She said happily. I knew I recognized her face. I raised my brows at her name as I hesitantly took her hand and shook it. “Penny…. Penson?” I asked, curiously. She smiled. “I know, it’s weird, right? My parents certainly have a sense of humor.” “It’s unique,” I told her honestly. “It’s nice meeting you. I’m Anila Montgomery.” “Oh, trust me, we know who you are,” Penny chuckled. “We got here earlier today, and we were out exploring when we saw you holding Damien West’s wand!” My eyes widened at her words. “I know everything there is to know about this school and the top students. I’ve been preparing for this school my entire life and I’m so excited to be
Anila POV The growling of my stomach stopped my words from escaping my lips. My cheeks flushed right away, and I held onto my stomach, attempting to silence it. “Sorry,” I murmured, embarrassed by the intrusive sound. Penny stood to her feet, laughing. “For what? Being hungry?” She asked, glancing at her phone. “Dinner will be served soon. Let’s go to the dining hall, and we can continue this conversation after” she said, motioning for us to follow her. I was grateful for the momentary distraction and subject change. I hadn’t even realized an hour had passed since I was trapped in the elevator with Zach. The memory caused my body to become incredibly hot. I swallowed the lump that formed in my throat and stood with everyone else. Penny draped an arm through mine. “We are in this together, Anila,” she assured me. “Stick with us and you’ll never be alone.” I smiled, it was a nice thought having a group of girls that I could depend on and even consider my friends. I ne
Anila POV The amount of gasps around the table was alarming. “What?” Penny gasped. “Are you serious?” Both Sadie and Sally gasped. “No way!” Sage gasped. “Holy shit,” Becca gasped and then she burst out laughing. “And here we are, feeding you awful information about him.” Penny’s face was beat red when she turned to me. “Oh, my gosh. I’m so sorry, Anila. You must think awful of us. Speaking about your mate like that,” she said, shaking her head, her blonde, red, and feathered curls bouncing around her features. “I’m sure he’s so much different with you because you are his mate.” “That explained why he looked so happy,” Sage said, nodding in agreement to Penny. “You don’t need to apologize,” I said, placing my hand on Penny’s arm to calm her. “I’m glad you told me this information. I only just met him, and I wasn’t really sure what to think of it all. It’s… a lot,” I admitted. “I can’t believe Zach would be so cruel as to fight Xaden for his mate,” Sally breathed, sh
Anila POV I probably should have turned away. Maybe try to find a different bathroom; not that I would even know where to start looking. But something was keeping me grounded and when I peered around the corner and saw Damien’s distraught face, I knew I wasn’t going to be able to go anywhere. My chest tightened even more. I was finally able to get a better look at Damien. I saw him when I first arrived after I found his wand, but with everything that had gone on, I wasn’t able to actually look at him. His hair was a deep shade of brown, like the riches of the earth. It lay in soft waves around his features. His eyes were a darker shade of gray than mine, and hard to read. Especially through his thick-framed glasses. I had to admit to myself that he was good-looking in a nerdy kind of way. Though, despite him appearing a bit nerdy, his body revealed that he was no stranger to the gym. He was tall, but his arms were nicely built and the white collared shirt he wore fi
Anila POV The familiar gorgeous wand flipped over me as if it had jumped off a springboard before spiraling around my legs and up my body. It swished and flicked above my head, and then twisted down beneath my feet. I wasn’t quite sure if it was happy to see me, or if it was performing a dance, but I didn’t stop the smile from forming on my lips. Suddenly my body feels heavy, and the magic releases its tight hold on me as I drop to my feet. The wand holds still in front of my face as if assessing me for any damage before whipping around. It dove straight for Sarah, aiming to take an eye out if she hadn’t ducked out of the way. She made a surprised yelp as it quickly turned around and came at her again, this time smacking against her cheek. There was a small red line that formed on her pale flesh as her hand covered it, betrayed shock written all over her face. As the wand readied for another attack, taking advantage of Sarah's hesitation, Damien was quick as he snatched it
Anila POV I have never before seen someone’s face change so red as they do in the cartoons, but that’s exactly what Sarah’s face did. And with the round shape of her head, she looked painfully like a tomato. She opened her mouth, readying an argument before Xaden held up his hand, cutting her off. “What are you going to say? That it isn’t true?” He shook his head, the calm features I was so used to seeing were nowhere in sight. “You approached so many men. Jaxon, Heath, Paul. Even Harley, and Myself.” My eyebrows raised at the list. “Wow, impressive,” I commented, but it only made Sarah start to tremble. “We are just classmates… friends. Nothing more!” She barked, but Xaden gave a boisterous laugh. “Only after you got rejected and turned down by every single one of us. ‘Just friends,’ she says. You know what is the most ridiculous? That you have this poor man believing the bullshit spewing out of your mouth.” Xaden’s tone turned angry as he gestured to Damien, who remaine
Anila’s POVEverything around me started to fade away as the battle continued in the sky.It was Ember and me, vs the Alpha King and about 3 of the dragons. The glow of the Dragon Stone was wedged in his chest, pulsating with each beat of his heart. That dragon stone was the reason he was like this… it was the reason all of this was happening in the first place. If only I could get it, I could put an end to all of this.He would be powerless. The King swiped at me with his large claws; he managed to get my arm, and I hissed in pain, grabbing the sore spot on my arm. For a second, I had a moment of panic. When Xaden got scratched by a dragon, it put him in a coma. But when nothing happened, I felt a sense of relief. However, I did almost fall off Ember entirely, but thankfully she prevented me from falling. I did get a good look at the ground though and I saw that people were still being ushered und
Anila’s POVThe house was on fire when I reached it. There was rubble everywhere and something was blocking the front door from opening. I barely recognized the place because of all the ash and rubble that surrounded the yard. I felt no attachment to being back at this house, nor did I feel any remorse over the fact that it was burned to the ground. I didn’t really care about any of that; it was no longer my home.My home was where my mates were and that was the place I longed to be at last.I gave up on the door and tried a window instead. Thankfully, it wasn’t locked, and I was able to get into the dark home. I nearly was choked out by the amount of smoke and soot in the air. Instead of staying in human form, I decided to strip out of my clothes, throwing them outside so I would have them later, and then I shifted into my wolf. Even in my wolf form, it was difficult to breathe, but at least I was lower to the ground my wolf&r
Anila’s POVEmber was going faster than I had ever known her to go. Then again, I’d never ridden on her before because the last time I saw her, she was only a baby. She also knew exactly where she was going without even looking at the other dragons. We weren’t riding with a saddle, which was also weird, but oddly enough, I felt secure on Ember’s bare back.Jaxon sat behind me, his arms wrapped around my waist and my back was pressed into his broad chest, so there was that extra layer of protection as well.“We need to protect the humans because they are defenseless,” I told him; he nodded in agreement.“We should get them under the ground,” he said. “If there are any sewers or anything. It’s safer for them.”I wasn’t going to argue with that; as long as the humans were safe, that was all that mattered. As we neared the human nation, my heart started to sink. I
Anila’s POVWhile I was engulfed in the dark woods, I grabbed my wand out of my boot and cast the spell for light to light the area up so I could see better. I had my wolf and bear sight, but it was still difficult to see the items I was looking for. I wanted to refrain from shifting right now because I wanted my animals to be well-rested and prepared for when I needed them the most.Besides, most of the others hadn’t shifted. Some of the bird shifters did, but aside from that, everyone was wandering around different sections of the forest in their human forms.“Don’t overthink it,” I heard Zach’s voice in my head through our mindlink. I paused at the sound of his voice and looked around, wondering if he was nearby. It made him chuckle which solidified that he could see me.“Where are you?” I asked him out loud.“I’m not near you. I’m still where you left me. But I c
Anila’s POV“The competition is in a couple of hours. What exactly are we going to do with a dragon?” Zach asked. He was now leaning against the wall on the far side of the dorm room, his arms folded around his chest as he watched the dragon intently.“Yeah, what are we doing with it?” Sage asked, narrowing her eyes at me.“Her name is Ember,” I scolded, rolling my eyes as I ran my hands down Ember’s head.“What are we supposed to do?” Penny asked with a timid frown on her lips.I turned towards Ember and pressed my forehead against her as I whispered, “Go find Jaxon.”She closed her eyes, taking in my words, and then without another word she turned towards the window which was still open, and she took off.“Be careful! Don’t be seen!” I whispered-yelled.“This is a really bad idea,” Sage said, folding her arms
Xaden’s POV“What do you think this is about?” Harley asked as we approached the conference hall for Alphas. It was outside of all territories and rarely used except for meetings that included all Alphas for both bear and wolf shifters. We only had a meeting that concerned everyone when it was an emergency.Whatever this was about, I knew that it wasn’t going to be good.“I guess we will find out,” I murmured as we approached the hall that led to the meeting room.“Where the hell have you two been?” My father asked as he stormed towards us. “We had been waiting for you.”“Sorry, Dad. You called when we were at school. Took us some time to get here,” I told him as we went towards the doors together.“This is an emergency, Xaden. You should have run faster in wolf form,” he muttered, then he froze and sniffed the air, narrowing his eyes at me,
Anila’s POV“Holy fuck,” Zach breathed, pushing me the rest of the way into the room and shutting the door behind us. The window was wide open, so I knew the dragon didn’t just walk in through the door.I was too frozen to say or do anything except gawk at the big dragon that sat in the middle of the dormitory. Sage and Becca were on the couch while Sadie and Sally were across the living room, staring at the dragon with big and worried eyes. Penny was the only one who didn’t seem afraid; she was standing closer to the dragon, and she looked a bit sheepish.“I can’t believe you let that thing in here,” Sally said, hiding behind her twin.Penny frowned and folded her arms across her chest.“She was wandering around outside. What was I supposed to do? Let her get hurt? The hunters wouldn’t let her live if they found her.”“Why do we care what happens to a dragon, Pen?” Sally asked, her frown deepening as she glared at Penny from across the room. “She’s a freaking dragon!”“And she’s harm
Anila’s POVI was so exhausted after taking all my mates at once that I nearly passed out after my orgasm. Once they were out of me, they cleaned me up and then cleaned up our mess from the picnic. I used Harley as a bed as I curled up against him, pressing my head against his chest. We were all still naked, except for Damien who had got dressed right after.I thought there would be a bit of awkwardness between them afterward, but there wasn’t. In fact, they all acted as if they were friends for a long time. Even Damien was joining them with some jokes and laughing. I was too tired to engage in conversation and Harley kept his warm arms around my body, pressing me further into him. His fingers traced my spine gently, sending goosebumps around my body.Once everything was clean, Harley stood, lifting me into his arms. We went towards Xaden’s cabin so we could rest for the night. I made it clear that I didn’t want any of my mates to go anywhere else. I needed them tonight because I had
Anila’s POVThe emotions of my mates were at an all-time high right now. I could feel each of their lust for me, and it spurned me on even more to give them a show.“I think she’s wanting some more,” Xaden teased as he tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. “She’s such a needy girl.”“That’s our mate,” Zach breathed, his grip on my hips getting firmer as he continued to grind himself into me, his erection poking my entrance through my shorts. “Maybe we should get her out of these clothes.”Without warning, Xaden lifted my shirt over my head and threw it to the forest ground. With everything going on, I completely forgot we were outside in the middle of the forest with daylight budding around the corner. But at that moment, I didn’t really care. All I wanted was my mates… I needed a distraction.I felt Xaden’s warm hands on my breasts, tugging and teasing my nipples, making me gasp at the sensation. My nipples pebbled under his touch, and I felt a warm ray of chills coating my body as
