Who the heck is Carden Thompson?
Dalmi had been maundering about the man’s words to where she couldn’t sleep even for a bit. She shook her head again, tying her robe as she walk towards her door and strode the way to their mini bar. She got herself a bottle of Bafonnero and a wine glass before plodding again to her room’s terrace. Dalmi sat on a rattan Cradle, putting down the bottle of wine on the table in front of it.
“Carden...” she trailed the top of the glass with her fingers, thinking about where she heard his name. It was unfamiliar. The only Thompson she knew was Casimir.
“What the hell?” She put the glass down and slapped her cheek several times, realizing how messed her situation is. She shared a night with a man she doesn’t even know! Imagining how many times she called him a wrong name that night made her cheeks burn more. She moa
“Yuck! Ew! You do this inside the office on working hours?!” Dalmi’s face contorted as she pick her bag up, slightly acting like she’ll puke.“Dalmi! What are you doing here?” Carden immediately stood up and walk towards her, reaching for her bag but she hid it behind her, refusing his fake act on being a gentleman.“Why? I have something to tell you...” Dalmi looked up on Carden. He was towering over her. “And who is the old woman? I didn’t know you fancy even the grandmothers,” she shamelessly said.Carden reached for her elbow, leaning his face forward and whispered, “She is an investor, don’t be ridiculous...”Dalmi rolled her eyes and removed his hand on her, marching towards the lady with her eyebrows arched. She sat in front of her, crossing her legs as she plaster an arrogant smile on he
“Carden will what?” Dalmi forcibly dropped her spoon on her plate, creating an echoing noise inside their dining room.Minutes before his father’s words, Dalmi was savouring the food served in front. His father was sitting at the aisle with a white cloth on his chest. She wanted to laugh at it at first because he looks like a child, but she knew making fun of her father will only make her fate worse. Her mother was sitting on his left while she was the on the right. She just got home from Carden’s office for a failed mission, and her parents called her for dinner.“Why, suddenly?” Dalmi put all her focus to dad. A line in between her brows appeared, showing how confused she is.“I mean, Dad! Carden probably has this big penthouse or even a mansion! Why would you let him stay inside our house when he has a place to go home?”
Dalmi touched her forehead, wiping the sweat falling down her face as she cut another portion of the potato. In her mind, she had been murdering Carden’s body.If only he refused the marriage and accept one of my recommendations, I should spend my time watching Netflix by now.Dalmi wasn’t a good cook. She doesn’t even know how to fry, and that pineapple chicken is so hard to cook! She regretted that she told him she would cook. But isn’t it your goal? Dalmi asked herself and stopped cutting the vegetable into cubes. She wanted to turn him off. And this is a way to do it. She grinned and picked the carrots on the table, holding it vertically as she called for the old lady.“Yes, Miss?” Manang Letty bowed her head as she stood in front of the young lady.“How do you cut this thing?” she asked,
“Just what the fuck do you think you are doing, woman?!” Carden bawled in anger, his eyes bloodshot and his voice so loud that it could break a vase. His eyebrows were almost uniting, his lips tightly pressed with each other and his jaw clenching hard.“It tastes...effin bad!” He shook his head, pointing at the salvaged food on the table as he stared sourly and disgusted at Dalmi. He could still feel the salty taste on his tongue!“Do you want to get rid of me that much? You...you even wasted food! Ha!” He sarcastically laughed, stepping forward as he crossed his arms and examined Dalmi’s body. The woman was sitting on the chair; the food was in front of her and her hands balled above her knees. He hissed, pushing the bowl in front of her.“Taste these freaking food and see how much disappointed you could earn for yourself. I shouldn’t have trusted you! I knew you are acting weir
What Dalmi hated about that man is, he was so arrogant. She knew she was wrong for even pushing him to refuse the wedding but she was wondering if it was really that bad?She cooked even if she don't know how to and purposely ruined it, yes! But does he have to shout at her for doing that?Dalmi lifted her face from her wet pillow and reached for a box of tissue, wiping her tears away from her face. She could feel the liquid running down her nose, making her face scrunch up as she blow it out. She rubbed the tip of her nose, on her other hand was her phone, clicking her speed dial."Jackie," she called in a small, shaky voice. She gasped and fanned herself. "Carden is a jerk.""What? What is it again?" Jackie answered on the other line. Jackie had always been her crying shoulder, that
“She doesn’t want to go with you. Why would you force her? Because of the money?” Dalmi sarcastically laughed, touching the inside of her left cheek with her tongue.“Do you really think money can buy a woman, huh?” she glared at the man. Her hand clutching his arm tightly that her nails would almost get buried. The man furrowed his brows.“Who the hell are you?” he gave her a head-to-foot, afterwards, his expression changed from being annoyed to naughty.Dalmi shifted her gaze to the woman. She was wearing a thick makeup; her lipstick a bit smudged, and her hair messy. She didn’t want to conclude and judge the man, but the way he pulled her arm earlier told Dalmi that was probably the reason she looked like that.“Tss. As expected, men are pieces of shit,” she said, crossing her arms as she scanned the man’s body. He doesn’t even look like a man with a stable b
“C-Carden!” even in her shaking voice, Dalmi couldn’t deny that she was thankful that this man is now with him. Of all people, she wasn’t expecting him to come.Carden didn’t let the man stand up and instead held his collar. His knuckles once again met the stranger’s face. “How dare you touch her!”Dalmi’s eyes widened when his fiancee sat
Like a broken plaque playing, Dalmi sighed again and said, "It was unfair."She could no longer count how many times she said it, but that was the only line she could muster after hearing a long litany of her father about the marriage.Damiar Arizona had always been gentle towards her daughter. But two days ago, he left no room for Dalmi to back out. Even if she cried in front of him, tell him how harsh her future husband is, all lead to nothing but a forced marriage. She curled her body into her bed, covering it with her cream-colored mattress as she pushed her cheek to the pillow. The maids and the organizer told her to sleep early, but it was past 10 pm, but she was still wide awake.Wedding jitter? No. It was actually a time to commemorate her good old days. She isn't ready. She thought she would spend her time alone, but her father made it all impossible.Anger slowly crept in her. How could her parents do that to her? It sounded like he just
