Kendall’s POV

I moved closer to Declan, my curiosity getting the better of me. “Declan,” I said softly, ignoring his last statement about trusting him, “what’s the key for?”

He looked at me, considering his words carefully. “The spy found a building that your father visits frequently,” he began, his voice low. “It’s in a secluded part of town, and he’s been seen going there often. The spy thinks there’s something strange about it, something off.”

“What kind of building?” I asked, feeling a mixture of dread and curiosity.

“It looks like an old storage facility, but the spy managed to get close enough to see that it’s carefully hidden from sight,” Declan explained. “He managed to duplicate the key used to lock and unlock the door.”

I felt a chill run down my spine. “What do you think is in there?”

“I’m not sure,” Declan admitted. “But whatever it is, it’s important enough for your father to guard it closely. We need to find out what’s inside that storage building.”
