Chapter 5

The sun's rays woke me up, and I stretched my hands, looking out the area with a smile on my face; then it faded away after the reality of things hit me.

I was in another pack, captured by people I didn't even know.

Yesterday's experience kept popping up in my head, and I just couldn't help but think about it, and I started figuring out ways to counter it. He had just seen me take me, and the words he had proclaimed only caused thrills down my spine.

A knock on the door sneered me out of my thoughts. I took a deep breath making sure that I was well dressed to avoid repeating yesterday's situation itself.

I opened the door, and I didn't know why. I was somewhat disappointed after finding out that it wasn't the rogue king, making my heart sink. It was a crazy experience but I was able to shrug it off soon after.

“I'm sorry, did I wake you up?” The innocent girl seemed sorry.

I shrugged my head in response, “I was already awake. Did you need something because I'm not sure if I know you?”

“I'm your maid. The rogue king assigned me to take care of all your needs, so I'm here for your service, ma'am.”

It took a minute for it to click because it sounded a bit odd. I never thought I would be getting a personal maid or even any maid at all and so it felt so surreal.

“Your Highness?” She snapped me out of my thoughts.

I smiled awkwardly and asked, “What's your name dear?”

“My name is Irene,” she replied.

I studied her closely, scanning all of her features and realizing that she was probably a very young girl, maybe the age of nineteen or around my age mate.

“Can I come in?” She asked politely.

I nodded in response and let her in. She looked around the room, her mouth opened wide in agape. “Your room is so beautiful. His Majesty took his time selecting it for you.”

It sounded like I might have misinterpreted what she said. “Are you saying that he picked this room out himself, or you're just trying to flatter me a bit,” I was confused.

She shook her head in response. “He made sure that everything was prepared in an orderly manner just to get you and to make you feel welcomed.”

The thought of him taking his time despite his busy schedule made me think otherwise but I reminded myself that she was just an employee and was probably trying to paint him well in front of me.

“Can you point out your bathroom to me? I need to help you prepare your bath,” she told me.

I tried stopping her, but she had it figured out and walked in without letting me speak first. It was somehow, letting someone else do things that I was supposed to do.

I sat on the bed, thinking of what to do, and started reminiscing about my life back in my pack. I knew it shouldn't be my place here and the thought of what Sean did only added more plight to my life. He chose Anya over me but why should I even be surprised?

Sgw had always been the perfect one and the one who never made mistakes. Everything she did in everyone's eyes was seen as perfect, and I was always the clumsy one, but she got me into this mess.

Irene finished up sooner than expected and I spent my day enjoying the lavish life of a queen. I thought it would be bad because I'm supposed to be held captive here, and I assumed I'd be a maid or something, but I guess I thought wrong.

Irene led me to the huge dining area, and I never expected to see something as exaggerated as a few people at the dining area; I didn't know them yet since neither of them showed up for the mating ceremony.

I nodded my head as a form of greeting and made my way to the chair available. They all looked at me with some kind of odd expression that made me feel uncomfortable.

“Oh my. She's really beautiful, Luther.”

A lady who looked like she'd be in her fifties said. She had a vibrant smile on her face and scurried over to my place, she tapped on a guy with long blonde hair to get up.

He was surprised but didn't waste time to get up and leave just the two of us alone. She looked very cheerful and wouldn't stop looking at me with a cute expression.

“You're so pretty. Isn't your name, Nova?” She asked, and I nodded in response.

“You're even prettier than in those pictures. I can't believe that you're real. You look like a doll and I'm glad that my Lulu finally got a girlfriend,” she squealed.

Wait what? Girlfriend?

The guy with the blonde hair spat out his food but Luther only had a stern expression on his face. “Mom, are you still calling him that? You know he's not little anymore,” he whined.

Mom?! So they were brothers?

No wonder there's some kind of resemblance between them but Luther was the most handsome. I couldn't believe that I was calling him handsome but I would be in denial if I said he wasn't.

“Sorry about him dear,” she turned her attention back to me. “Are you all going to introduce yourself to your brother, girl, or keep being disrespectful?” She sneered at them.

“Sorry, my name is Amelia and I'm Leo's girlfriend,” a blonde-haired woman with blue eyes introduced herself.

“I'm Leo. I'm Luther's younger brother,” the blonde-haired guy introduced himself.

The others at the table also introduced themselves and I got to know Dale— Luther's beta and best friend.

Throughout the introduction, he just remained quiet acting like we weren't even in any discussion. He finished his breakfast and stood up alongside Dale.

“Where are you going too?” I asked before he could make his day out of there.

“Isn't it obvious? I have work to do.”

“Can I follow you?” I asked, but the expression he gave me made me regret it soon after.
