Regrets.

Alexander's POV

I clutched the necklace, stepping into the car as I drove off in fury. I was going to let everything go, but her words kept piercing my ears. Was I being selfish? I knew getting married to Sabrina would be a mistake, but I needed to do this to protect her.

I slammed on the brakes, breathing heavily, as I took a turn back to the road leading to the construction company. I stopped again, this time halfway down the road, where Fiona stood, waiting for a taxi.

"Get in," I cleared my throat, unlocking the door.

"I never asked for a ride," she said, walking away.

I scoffed, stepping out of the car as I held her hand. "It's dangerous here, you won't find a cab. Get in, I'll take you home."

Her eyes glistened with tears as she folded her arms. "Why can't you leave me alone?"

"I will, but for now, get in. It's dangerous out here," I said, opening the door and signaling for her to get in. But she remained stubborn. "Fiona, please."
