~Audrina~
The sound of Mabel slapping her cheeks reverberated through the lobby, followed abruptly by a horrified hush.
I was startled to see her attack her with another one until the receptionist prevented the next, which made the other employees start talking behind their hands.
Mabel appeared to have the advantage when she abruptly withdrew hers and gave her the last one, which rang directly in my ear and made the receptionist recoil in disbelief.
“Madame, tell me, what have I done to deserve this?” She challenged Mabel, her eyes red with tears as her hand flew to her face in shock and pain.
Mabel scoffed, casting her a dirty look. “You’re seriously asking me that question? After speaking to my clients so rudely like you own the company, Or is it the fact that you blocked my slap?”
As if she didn’t care about her first offense, she countered, “That was assault, and I won’t stand for it.”
“Good,” Mabel responded, a wide grin spreading across her lips as though she had been dying for this moment to come.
“Turn in your resignation letter,” she commanded, her tone so cold and authoritative that it gave me goosebumps. “The company does not need an employee who talks nonsense.”
“And you should thank the goddess that my son wasn’t here to witness this rubbish; a sack letter wouldn’t have been the only thing you would have gotten." From the tone of her voice, one could tell that those weren’t mere threats.
But the receptionist’s eyes continued to blaze with anger before saying, “I’ll go alright, but first, I have one last thing to do.”
She suddenly threw herself at me, her fists flying out as she tried to hurt me again. Everyone was taken aback by the unexpected attack, and pandemonium broke out in the entrance.
"Get off me, you lunatic!" I yelled while exerting all of my might on her. But she was unrelenting in her attempts to tie me down, her grip tightening around my arms.
“Or else, what? You’ve already gotten me fired; what’s the worst thing you can do now?” She spat.
“Stop this madness and throw her out.” As we struggled with one another, Mabel gave the security guards a directive, and they hurried forward in an attempt to break us apart.
"Let go of her, now!" Amidst the chaos, one of the guards let out a loud growl.
But she would not back down; her angry face twisted as she lashed out at me. "You might have tricked Madame Mabel to think you’re innocent, but everyone needs to know how you are more of the devil’s first concubine.”
“You’re nothing but a pathetic lowlife!”
I clenched my jaw, a wave of rage sweeping through me. "You seem to mirror me too well, then," I shot back, struggling to break free from her grasp. "Attacking someone because you lost your job with your low professionalism? That's the lowest one you can get, don’t you think?”
But all she could do was laugh, and that laugh was so harsh and disdainful that it tense me. "I could get another job in the blink of an eye, but you are never getting to get a hold of that man you came to seek because you were dumped," she sneered, her grip tightening even further. "And you will pay for this humiliation!”
I staggered backward, my heart thumping in my chest, as the guards at last forced her away from me and also assisted me in standing up.
One of the guards was questioned, his face showing worry. "Are you okay?"
I nodded, still attempting to take in the events of the previous moment. "I think so," I mumbled.
However, as I watched her being escorted away by security, her expression twisted with contempt. I had just made another person my enemy.
“My dear, kindly have this glass of water.” She handed it over to me as she sat next to me.
“Cases like this hardly happen in our company, so please accept my sincere apologies for the embarrassment.” The tone of regret was laced into her tone.
“It’s fine, Madame; I’m used to people like her, and I’m only concerned about seeking out the man who gave me that check.” I equally informed her.
However, as she was about to reply, a familiar scent of pine mixed with musk filled my nose, causing my heart to race as if it were the first time.
He was here.
The atmosphere seemed to press in on me again as he drew closer, his features hidden by a mask, but, even with Madame Mabel by my side, the knot that was beginning to grow within me was not completely alleviated.
"What's going on here?" His voice muffled by the mask, he asked, but even in my slumber, I could recognize him as the man who had, for the first time, made me feel different.
His tone betrayed his concern as he took in the spectacle in front of him.
I wanted to reply, but as soon as I looked him in the eye, I felt lightheaded. The world appeared to revolve around me, and my vision became blurry. I fell to the ground as darkness engulfed me before I could grab onto anything for support.
I fell unconscious, and everything vanished, leaving just a lingering feeling of panic and confusion.

I was lying on a supple surface when consciousness gradually returned, and I could hear the subtle murmur of voices in the vicinity. I groaned and tried to sit up, blinking quickly to try to get rid of the last remnant of dizziness that was still holding on to me.
Mabel's worried expression became apparent as she loomed over me, her fear imprinted across her features. "Thank goodness, you’re finally awake!”
“You scared us back there, you know; now take it easy and tell me how you feel now?" she asked, her voice laced with concern.
“I don’t know... what happened?” I returned the question, as I was in a deep state of confusion.
But her next words sent a jolt of shock through me, scattering my thoughts like leaves in the wind. "My dear, there's something I need to tell you," she began, her tone hesitant.
I furrowed my brow, already aching to know. "What is it, ma’am?" I asked.
She took a deep breath, her gaze locking with mine. "You're pregnant," she announced, her words hanging heavy in the air.
I was processing her announcement when it felt like time stood still. Expecting a baby? My mind kept repeating the term, which made my spine tingle.
I struggled to find the right words, my mind reeling with disbelief. "Pregnant?" I repeated.
I prayed not to wake up and realize that this was actually my reality, since this had to be just another nightmare.
~Audrina~I never once anticipated that I would end up as the victim of a disastrous one-night stand, let alone that I believed the man who had entered was really him.Good Lord, I was going crazy, and my life was about to end if I couldn't think of a way out.Mabel's voice cracked again while I was still trying to figure out how to get out of this situation; there was no way I would endanger my life to abort my baby. She said in a serious tone, "Audrina, my dear, there's something else we need to discuss."I took a quick look at her and could instantly see that the message wasn't good. "What is it now?" With a hint of anxiety in my voice, I questioned.Mabel inhaled deeply and met my eyes with a steady gaze. "I know you don't know me, Audrey, but this could be the answer you've been searching for."It was Audrina; what was so hard to pronounce there?"I'm afraid you might not be able to handle it alone. Motherhood comes with a lot of responsibilities," she said, pausing, and I could
~JAMES-As her words repeated over and over again in my head, I hung up the phone and handled it roughly, swinging it to the coach nearby as I loosened my collar. How could she even suggest such a thing? I wasn't ready for such a lifelong commitment, so I could not just fathom her obsession with it."If only she would stop this madness." I murmured, cracking my knuckles as I thought about it.Perhaps she was fooling around, but I could only find out by calling her again to confirm."No, she sounded too serious." I remarked, sinking back into my executive chair as I exhaled in frustration.Wanting grandchildren was very much understandable since it was needed for the continuation of our bloodline, but she also needed to realize that good things take time.More like, I was avoiding the whole idea of love because it was non-existent."What's the problem, sire?" Dylan inquired the moment that he stepped his foot into my office.I hesitated to give him the details, but he was like family,
~AUDRINA~After my last meeting with Madame Mabel, she informed me that her son would be sending a delegate with some documents for me to sign, and I was curious to know what it was. As long as it was not a life commitment, then there was no problem at all. When the wait was beginning to get too long, I was close to giving up when he showed up at the point of meeting.“Sorry, I’m late.” The man apologized as he took a seat opposite mine, and I only flashed him a smile, having little or nothing to say.“It’s fine,”“Shall we proceed now?” He requested it, and I gave him a nod of approval.Bringing out a document from his bag, he placed it on the table, and my eyes darted towards it. I couldn’t read much of the details, but I was more eager than ever to do so.“Where are my manners? I forgot to give you a proper introduction. I’m Dylan, the Beta of Madame Mabel’s pack and a close friend to the man you would be marrying.” He announced. He seemed nice compared to the egoistic brat who did
~Audrina~As I stood before the mirror with the wedding dress draped over my shoulders, it felt like it was happening so fast. For the past two days, I have had sleepless nights because I kept shifting from nightmares to another with Paige trying to kidnap me on my supposed special day. However, the people assigned to make me the prettiest bride were actually so friendly that I loosened up a bit.As the makeup artist put the finishing touches on my face, her skilled hands worked so well that I almost couldn’t recognize myself.“Wow, you look absolutely stunning!” she exclaimed, stepping back to admire her work.“You’re going to be the talk of the kingdom for months with your pretty pictures everywhere.”A blush crept up my cheeks, but I was still unable to muster much enthusiasm.“All thanks to you,” I returned her kind words. “You are the one who did all the magic here.”She nodded in agreement but still countered my words, “Yes, that’s true, but if you didn’t have this alluring beau
~AUDRINA~A part of me kept screaming a gigantic yes, but the fear of the unknown made me think hard about the situation. What if Nicholas wasn’t the guy I used to know? He had never cheated on me before, and I was the one who was supposed to be on my knees, begging him to forgive me, but he was willing to give us a second chance.A nice guy if you asked me.I wanted to ask my wolf for her opinion, but I could already guess what her answer would be, so I never bothered. Nobody would understand my situation better than me.At this point, what mattered was my heart and happiness; it was yearning for Nicholas. Even if I was so terrified by the fact of eloping, it was a great idea to do it with the devil. I knew that an angel would treat me like his maid once we were alone.Besides, my stupid sister had already threatened me to leave, but what if this was a trap? No, Nicholas and Paige didn’t have any form of connection. In fact, she hated him and always mocked me for settling for a low l
~AUDRINA~After arguing with my wolf for a couple of minutes, I finally decided to prove her wrong by peering through the crack in the door, but what I witnessed made my heart sink to the bottom of my stomach. There in the room, Nicholas had his head fisted around the headboard, and with each thrust into her, the board slammed the wall. The center of the bed was literally soaked in their juices as he banged her even harder, as if he had been yearning for her for a long time now.I stumbled backwards, torn between barging into the room to confront them or turning away like a broken-hearted fool to finish what I had started.I shouldn’t have listened to him in the first place, but I was so blinded by love that I didn’t listen to the voice of reason from my wolf. She would definitely make me have an earful of ‘I told you so.’How could he do this to me? The whole time, he had been hooking up with my sister. Why did that even come off as a surprise? It was Paige that we were talking about
~AUDRINA~Once I got back into my dressing room, I shut the door hard and dropped to the ground, crying my heart out. How could I even continue with this wedding procedure? My makeup was already smudged, and it would leave a bad impression on the family I was about to marry into. But why was I even crying? Those two jerks weren’t even worth my tears; I should have seen this coming a long time ago. This was on me, and I had to pick myself back up because I honestly had nobody to fall back on.“They must have given up and gone home.” I said to myself as I glanced down at my phone to check the time that I was already an hour late. But in the midst of this mental breakdown, I was grateful to the goddess because I remembered praying to her to reveal if he was the right man for me, and she guided my steps. If not for her, I would have been all smiles with Nicholas before it would turn to another set of hot tears.Tossing my phone to the side, I buried my face in my knees so I could have a m
~James~When the delay was already too much for me to handle, I decided to go out of my way and find her myself.Despite my annoyance, I tried to understand the fact that she must be going through a mental breakdown.Because let’s be factual here, which woman would be happy that she is getting married to a stranger due to unfortunate circumstances? But still, it didn’t give her the right to keep my guests waiting, and it made my mother look like a fool.People were already starting to spread rumors that she must have run away because I was such a terrible person to live with. The audacity she had given them!Since I wasn’t sure of her room number, I kept asking the omegas around, and they directed me there, but as I got a few inches away from the door,.I heard two people again; one of their voices seemed familiar, and the person had the upper hand.“Are you sure this is her room?” My brows furrowed as I repeated my question again.I wouldn’t want to make the mistake of intruding into
