Dr. Hensley sat in his dimly lit, makeshift laboratory, his fingers drumming impatiently on the desk. The room smelled of sterilizing chemicals and damp wood, the remnants of his hurried relocation to this secluded area. The world outside had shunned him, but he was far from defeated.

“This isn’t over,” he muttered to himself, his voice filled with conviction. "There’s no way I’ll let this slip through my fingers. My work will change the course of medicine. It will make me immortal in history.”

His gaze drifted to a corkboard pinned with photographs, charts, and scribbled notes about his research. Aria’s face was among them—a key figure in his groundbreaking experiment. “Alexander Sinclair might think he’s won by getting my license revoked, but he has no idea who he’s up against. I will get Aria, no matter what it takes.”

Setting up the lab in secret hadn’t been easy. Without official backing, he had to move cautiously, gathering equipment and staff without drawing attention. But now

Dr. Hensley had to get in touch with Ethan but there was no way to do that when Ethan was detained in police custody. He had pondered on the best person to help him in his quest for Aria. Then he had the brilliant idea that all he needed was the man who was also after Aria but it would take a lot of time to get Ethan out because he was already charged with attempted kidnapping and assault. His only chance would be to get someone to make sure Ethan got out without it being traced back to him. After hours of pondering, an idea struck him. Ethan wasn’t just a pawn; he was an asset. And while it would take time, it was worth ensuring Ethan's release. He picked up his phone and made a call. His instructions were clear: make Ethan’s release happen, but leave no trail leading back to him. --- Meanwhile, back in the Sinclair's residence, Aria found herself staring at a neatly wrapped gift package on the small table in her room. It hadn’t been there earlier, and her curiosity piqued when she

The ride back to the house was quieter than Aria expected. She stared out of the window, her mind replaying the events of the day. Watching complete strangers stand up for her had been heartwarming, but it also made her feel inadequate. Shouldn’t she have been able to defend herself?Lilian, who had been glancing at her intermittently, cleared her throat, breaking the silence. “Mrs. Sinclair,” she began cautiously, “I hope you don’t take offense at what I’m about to say. I just feel I need to speak openly with you.”Aria turned to her, surprised. “Oh, don’t worry. If anything, I should be thanking you for standing up for me back there. I really appreciate it, even though I honestly didn’t mean to cause such a scene.”Lilian raised a brow, studying her as though she were an alien from another world. “Do I have your permission to speak freely ma'am?” she asked again, her tone firmer.“Of course, Lilian. Please, say what’s on your mind,” Aria encouraged, curious about what could be so im

Lucas couldn’t wait, he sent a car straight to Jessica’s home. His only thought was what Mr Alexander was going to do after he finished reading the messages between Jessica and the Housekeeper, he had placed the compiled information on Alexander’s desk before sending off one of the drivers. By the time Lucas returned to meet Alexander, he was damn near fuming with rage. He was red in the face. “Lucas, are these real? How the hell does Jessica have our home staff under her fingertips? This was happening under our noses the whole time. She could have asked for something even more bizarre if she had the chance. “Sir, I believe greed is the only answer to that question. As you know, we pay the staff the exact amount as recorded… so if this happens then it is simply because she is not content.” He said as a matter of fact. “Prepare for Jessica, I’m going to need the following things on this list, Lucas.” He knew Jessica was a handful, but how would she be so involved as to believe tha

“I feel strange, really strange… Alex, what are you doing to me? What was in that pill?” Jessica asked, her voice trembling, barely masking her rising panic. Her body was betraying her—a flush crept up her face, and a strange, unwelcome heat began building. Her muscles tightened in ways she hadn’t anticipated, and certainly not in this situation. Could it be? Was she really feeling what she thought she was?Alexander leaned against the desk, a smirk playing on his lips. “By now, I'm sure your body is telling you a few secrets, isn't it? His voice was as cold as it's mocking. “Since you're so intent on making my life miserable, I thought I'd return the favor. Meet your company for the evening.”At his nod, Lucas opened the door, ushering in five hulking men. They stepped in, their imposing figures filling the room with an air of danger. Jessica’s eyes widened as she took them in—towering bodybuilders with bulging muscles. They look like contestants from a strength competition. Her mind

The kiss spoke words they couldn’t say, Alexander cupped her cheek gently, his thumb slowly brushed against her skin sending shockwaves through her body. His touch was warm, steady and as he leaned down kissing her she felt warm everywhere. His hands slid down to the back of her neck to pull her closer and deepen the kiss. Aria felt her heart racing dangerously, her body was responding to Alexander’s touch, her hands found their way to his chest as though that was exactly where they were meant to be. She could feel the firm muscles beneath his shirt, the heat from his body could be felt through the fabric. As their kiss deepened, Alexander wrapped his arms around her pulling her so close she felt like they would melt into one person. “Aria,” he whispered as they both came up for air. His voice was laced with desire, their foreheads pressing gently together. Her fingers slid up his chest, they brushed cautiously against the buttons of his shirt. She hesitated but a nod of approval

On the trip back to the house. Janet couldn’t help but wonder how exactly Alina survived that fire. Janet couldn’t dare ask the questions she needed answers to in the car while her husband was there, she would speak with Jessica soon. By the time they drove into the house, Jessica went in first leaving her parents to talk. “That boy doesn’t know who I am, does he? Treating my precious daughter as though she’s a common criminal. He’s lucky we already think of him as our future son in law, if not… he’d have heard from my lawyers.” Anderson towered as he walked into his house. “Honey, I think we should just take things easy. I mean there’s no need to worry much. He’s probably learnt not to do something like that again and…”Anderson interrupted. “Oh did you see how he was looking at us when we were leaving. That boy hasn’t learnt a thing. I have a mind to go there tomorrow.” Anderson continued, sitting down on his sofa. Janet immediately felt pangs of fear run down her spine. “No… h

“Hello, my name is Jordan Smith, I am a journalist and I want to hire your services for the case of an Ethan Hawke currently in custody for an attempted kidnap and murder” Dr. Hensley said. He had devised the perfect plan, he would anonymously pay for representation for Ethan and when he was out, they would move on with the second phase of his plan. He had chosen one of the top lawyers in the city, no fee was too much for him to pay just to get his hands on what he needed. Dr. Hensley thought about what he stood to gain if his research was successful…“Okay, would you like to meet up to discuss the case of your – you didn’t mention who he was to you.” The lawyer’s assistant said. “Oh I’d prefer to be anonymous, I just want his case to be dismissed and he can be set free. I think he’s just being oppressed but that doesn’t matter. I’d like to make payments for his representation no matter the amount. Just make sure he gets out.” Dr. Hensley said. “That won’t be a problem sir, I’ll se

“Sir, we have a meeting with the executives at Brightford Holdings tomorrow afternoon. The team is already at the hotel waiting, do I reschedule or are we still going?” Lucas stared at his boss Alexander who was still angry about the Jessica situation. “We’re definitely still going. Jessica doesn’t count as an emergency,” he said nursing his glass of whiskey. “I’ll get my bag. We should be out in thirty minutes.” Alexander said. He left Lucas and went up the stairs to the bedroom. Aria had been pacing, as he opened the door. She was a bit startled. “Is anything the matter? Why are you looking stressed? I couldn’t help but sneak a peek at what was happening downstairs.” Aria said. “Oh, it’s just Jessica’s parents trying to cause a scene. I want to truly apologize for everything that has happened. It turns out Jessica was the one that put nut powder in Grandma’s soup and also did a lot more but I promise I’ll trust you more although I suspected you were innocent but I just couldn’t

Mandy sat in the guest room, looking outside at the pool. Across from her, Janet sat down on the bed, staring at her sister impatiently with her arms crossed. “We need to make fast moves,” Janet said, her voice sharp. “With every moment that Aria is alive, every second she remains as Alexander's wife is a very big problem for us.” Mandy exhaled, folding her hands. “I understand but this isn’t some small backwards town anymore. Janet, we’re in a major metropolis, everything we do leaves a trace.” “And so what? We’ve covered up others so this shouldn’t pose too big a problem.” Janet replied nonchalantly. Mandy shook her head. “Not like this. This is not twenty years ago. People weren’t walking around with mobile cameras. Streets didn’t have traffic cameras and the police weren’t tracking digital footprints the way they’re doing now. We don’t even need to slip up to get caught.” Janet sat forward, “So what’s your great plan? Neck if we can’t erase her completely from the picture, no

Alexander adjusted his cuff links as he got into his black SUV, checking his wrist watch for the time. It was three in the afternoon, Lucas slid into the seat beside him, scrolling through his phone. “We need to make progress today, we need to have something tangible.” Alexander said as the car pulled out of the Sinclair estate. “I agree, Young Master. There’s no time to waste, we’ve been a step behind now it’s time to switch things up.” Lucas said. The driver maneuvered the car smoothly through the city streets to Sinclair Enterprises Headquarters, in the heart of the financial district. Alexander’s security detail had already been alerted by Lucas that he and Alexander were on their way. They opened the doors for them as they stepped out, moving straight to the private elevator that led directly to the high tech security wing of the building otherwise known as the Tech Division. As they entered the wing, a team of data analysts, cyber specialists and intelligence experts straig

Frieda sat comfortably in the plush leather seat of the private jet, sipping on freshly squeezed juice that had been served to her in a pretty glass. A beautiful air hostess stood nearby, offering her anything she wanted, whether it was another drink or some fruits, anything she needed. This was first class and extra treatment, is this what Aria has been enjoying? I am in Heaven, she thought. Every time she took a look around, there was something else that she hadn’t seen before. This was the only flight she had ever entered with no turbulence, the extravagance was screaming off the roof. What truly amazed her was Alexander himself. He sat across from her, dressed in a nice tailored suit, and was reading off his tablets, some documents from work. He didn’t even look up at her. Frieda frowned slightly. Hensley had told her that he was really close to Aria so she had expected a lot more than he was doing now. She found consolation in the fact that Alexander had been doting on her a

Dr. Hensley stood over Aria, watching her as she lay unconscious. She tapped her fingers on the steel table beside her gurney. Her face was getting paler but there was nothing that he could do about that, he couldn’t let her wake up anytime soon. The intravenous drip that supplied nutrients was basically just to make sure that she was getting enough nutrients to stay alive and healthy to an extent. His phone buzzed on the work counter, he moved to pick it up, it was a text. “Alexander and I arrive tomorrow. Don’t forget the gift.” A smile spread across his lips, things were working out rather well. The only plan left was how to eventually exchange Aria for Frieda when he was done with her. Hensley checked the machines monitoring Aria’s vitals. They showed that she was steady, though she was noticeably weaker than she had been a short while ago. He wasn’t too concerned with her, she could last a little longer and as long as she was stable, he would keep up his work. The only thing

“We’re heading back to the city, she comes with us tomorrow whether she’s on board or not.” Alexander said as they passed through the hallway. As they approached Frieda’s room, Alexander moved his shoulders, masking whatever emotion he was going through before putting on a practiced calm. He felt Lucas’s eyes on him, always watching in case he was needed to come in. When they entered, Frieda was seated by the window of her room, the remnants of her meal on the side table of the bed and the note that Alexander had sent her earlier neatly folded by the tray. She looked up with a smile Alexander knew was too perfect, her eyes lit up at the sight of them. “You’re back,” she said softly, her tone laced with a sweetness that Alexander knew was a lie. “Of course, I told you I’d be back.” Alexander replied, stepping closer to her. “I’m sorry I’m late though.” Lucas stayed in the corner of the hospital room, watching intently but making sure he wasn’t obvious. “So, how are you feeling ri

The case file in his hands, Alexander placed it on his lap not knowing if he should quite go through it in the car or at the apartment. Lucas looked through the mirror at Alexander, noticing the tension, Alexander had looked like he was going to rip through the whole case file just moments ago but now his hands hovered over it, hesitant. “Young Master, do you want to look at it now or wait until we get to the apartment perhaps?” Lucas finally asked, breaking the silence in the car.Alexander didn’t answer immediately, he let go of all the air in his lungs, as he traced the edges of the case file. “I think I’d prefer to look at it when we get to the apartment.” He said in a low tone “I don’t think I can do this in the car.” Lucas nodded, “Drive to the apartment…” he mentioned to the driver. Back at the apartment, Lucas looked on as Alexander sat on the table with the case file, the paper looked crisp. The title on the first page read: “Alexander Sinclair - Missing Child Report, 19

The underground laboratory smelled of sweat and chemicals as Dr. Hensley wiped his brow of sweat. His hands trembled slightly, the paralyzed goon lay slumped on the floor near his workbench. The body of the guy was a dead weight that was becoming more trouble for Hensley. “Damn it! You could have tried to attack me towards that area, that way it would have been easier to move you.” Hensley complained. He gripped the man under the arm and attempted to lift him but the man’s size and bulk made the task almost impossible, but Hensley had no choice but to keep trying. Even though no one would stumble on the body in the laboratory, he liked to be able to move easily around his own side of the laboratory. “You could have just left or better still put a call through. I’d have paid you and moved on but now look at you.” He grumbled to the goon on the floor, he dragged the limp figure toward the corner of the lab. The man’s head lolled left and right as he blinked slowly, the only indicatio

Back at the diner, Alexander, Lucas and the driver were finishing their meal when the driver wiped his mouth with a napkin and cleared his throat. “Sir, if I may say something, I might have a suggestion….” Alexander looked up from his meal, a bit intrigued. “Okay. A suggestion about what?” “Well,” the driver started. “I’ve been in the car with you on your different outings since you got here and I hope I’m not overstepping but if you’re trying to jog your memories, there are a couple of inner places that might help.” “Okay. What types of places are you talking about?” “Old places, There’s the old townhouse on Elm Street, it’s still standing and then there’s also the town school. People use the path through the schoolyard to get to the football field so it could be worth a look.” Lucas took a glance at Alexander. “What do you think?”Alexander wiped his mouth with a napkin before nodding. “It’s worth a try.” Lucas sorted the bill and they headed out, the afternoon sun added a la
