The hospital corridor felt endless as Aria walked down it, her mind still reeling from Grandma Sinclair’s words. Babies. The idea of being responsible for making someone else happy by giving them children hadn’t even crossed her mind when she signed the contract with Alexander. She signed up to be his fake wife, not to start a family. But how could she refuse Grandma Sinclair's innocent wish without raising suspicions?

She was so caught up in her thoughts that she didn’t notice the presence of someone as she bumped into him in the hallway.

“I’m so sorry,” she mumbled, raising her head—she froze. Her breath caught in her throat, her eyes widening as she looked into the cold, familiar face of the man standing before her.

Her ex-fiancé..** Ethan.**

She felt a hand clamp around her wrist and, before she could scream, she was dragged into an empty hospital ward.

Aria gasped as she was slammed against the wall, her heart pounding wildly in her chest.

Ethan was in hospital clothes, his head

It wasn’t her first time seeing the Sinclair home, but now, as she stepped out of the car with her new title as Mrs. Sinclair, it felt entirely different. She had entered into this contract thinking she would be able to keep her distance, to play her part while remaining emotionally detached. But the weight of her new role pressed down on her with each passing second.Alexander exited the car first, his tall frame exuding his usual cool confidence, but he paused to help his grandmother out of the backseat. Aria followed, feeling somewhat out of place in her simple dress among the luxury that surrounded her.The moment Grandma’s feet touched the driveway, she reached out, clasping Aria’s hands in her own. Her warm, wrinkled fingers squeezed gently as she smiled up at her. “Welcome home, Aria,” Grandma said, her eyes shining with affection. “This is your

Aria hummed softly to herself as she scrubbed the ground in the front yard, a task she had taken upon herself to please Grandma. Her mind wandered to thoughts of impressing Mr. Sinclair. "Maybe if I show how hardworking I am, he'll be pleased and might even consider raising my salary," she mused, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips. The joy of potentially making things better for herself was evident in the way she moved, her steps light, and her energy boundless. She was so absorbed in her task and thoughts that she didn’t notice the figure standing a few feet away, watching her with smoldering anger.Jessica had arrived at the Sinclair estate in a fury. How are you suddenly able to—”The moment her hand made contact with him, it was as though something snapped. Alexander recoiled, his body stiffening as his breathing quickened. The familiar, overwhelming sensation of panic surged through him, and his hands shot up to his temples, his eyes tightly shut as he struggled to breathe.Jessica’s smile faded instantly, replaced by a look of horror. “Oh no... you’re not cured...” she whispered, stepping back in disbelief as Alexander’s chest heaved with the effort to regain control. Alexander’s doctor, Dr. Hensley, had spent years trying to understand and cure Alexander’s gynophobia, but despite his best efforts, nothing seemed to work. Until now. News of Alexander’s recent relapse, followed by a miraculous recovery without his usual medication, intrigued Dr. Hensley. He couldn’t shake the curiosity that had been gnawing at him since he heard about it. How could Alexander’s condition improve so suddenly? Was it a fluke? Or was there something more? Driven by his relentless pursuit of answers, Dr. Hensley decided to meet with Alexander."Alexander, I'd like you to bring Aria in for a blood test," Dr. Hensley suggested during their call. "I think her presence might have something to do with your recovery, and I want to run a few tests to confirm."Alexander was hesitant. He didn't want to put Aria through any unnecessary medical procedures, but Dr. Hensley assured him it would be quick and harmless, just a simple blood sample. After mulling it over, Alexander reluc

Jessica’s plan had been simmering for days, and today, she was finally ready to put it into motion. She arrived at the Sinclair mansion with a confident stride, her mind set on her mission. Aria had been gaining Alexander’s attention for too long, and Jessica had no intention of letting her keep it. If she couldn’t win Alexander’s heart with her beauty charm, she’d resort to more nefarious means. As she entered the kitchen, she noticed it was empty, except for the pot of soup simmering on the stove.Jessica’s lips twisted into a sneer. “Let’s see how perfect you are after this, Aria,” she whispered under her breath. With a quick glance around to ensure no one was watching, Jessica opened the lid of the soup. She pulled a small container from her purse and sprinkled a fine layer of nut powder into the soup, knowing full well that grandma was highly allergic to nuts. Her lips curled into a satisfied grin as she stirred the soup, ensuring the powder dissolved completely."Oops. Grandma’s

The drive to the hospital was tense, filled with silence and worry. When they arrived, the doctors rushed grandma into the emergency room. Alexander paced anxiously in the waiting room, his mind racing. Jessica sat nearby, her hands clasped together, but inside she was reveling in the chaos she had caused. At the hospital, the silence was suffocating. Aria sat on the edge of a plastic chair, her fingers tightly wound around the hem of her shirt, replaying the events over and over. Alexander stood at a distance, his arms crossed, his jaw set in stone. He hadn’t said a word since they arrived, the tension between them thick and unspoken. After what felt like an eternity, the doctor finally emerged, pulling down his mask. “She’s stable now. You got her here just in time,”A few more minutes, and we might have lost her. She had a severe allergic reaction, but she’s stable now.” he said, offering Alexander a small nod. “But you need to be more careful in the future. Her body is weak, and an

Aria wandered around the hospital premises, trying to clear her mind from the suffocating tension between her and Alexander. His gaze, filled with so much doubt earlier, still weighed heavily on her. She needed space, fresh air—anything to breathe a little easier. But just as she rounded a corner, she froze, her heart dropping at the sight of someone she least expected to see."Ethan?" she said in disbelief, her voice tight. He stood in her path, his lips curling into a smirk that made her skin crawl."Aria," Ethan drawled, stepping forward. "Long time, no see."Her heart raced with frustration. "Why are you stalking me again?" she demanded, crossing her arms defensively. "I’ve told you before, I have nothing to say to you. Leave me alone."Ethan chuckled, but there was no warmth in his eyes. Ken was seated in his car, holding the steering wheel so tightly that his knuckles paled slightly. His body felt weird. For the first time in his life, he felt trapped in his own game. There was no way out of this so-called agreement. It was his idea and he couldn’t… wouldn’t ask for help from his mother. There was no turning back now. He stared at Hensley’s contact on his phone screen, his finger on the dial button. With a deep breath, he dialed the number. The line rang for a while and he got the prompt that the user was busy. He remained in his car staring at the road, He waited a couple of minutes before dialing the number again. This time, a familiar voice answered. “Ken? Tell me you’re not calling to back out now.” Ken furrowed his brows. Everyone must think the same things about him, that he was weak, useless or a coward. “No. I’m going to do it tomorrow night.” There was a pause and then Hensley laughed. “Okay then… This patent must be as important to you as it is to

Lucas walked down the hallway with intent, he held the bugged phone in hand. This bugged phone was their chance to finally corner Frieda. He knocked on the door to Frieda’s room, waiting for a response from within.“Come in!” Frieda said from inside the room. She was lounging in bed in a silk robe, she flipped through a magazine idly, looking as one who had no concerns in the world. She must really think she’s sold us on this act, he thought. She glanced up at him as he entered. “Is that mine?” Lucas held out the phone. “Yes Mrs Sinclair. This is your new device as requested. I hope it is to your satisfaction.” Frieda took the phone from Lucas without hesitation, running her fingers on the sleek black box. “I thought you’d forgotten, I was wondering what was taking so long but thank you.” Lucas gave her a smile. “I thought about what you’d like the most. It’s been set up with applications and all the other things you’d need. You can also transfer your old files from the cloud i

Jessica sat in first class on the flight back home from Paris, her father made her go on the vacation but to Jessica, this wasn’t a vacation, it was war planning. “You have to leave the country.” Her father’s words echoed in her head. The day he had made that verdict, she had stood in his office after leaving the hospital where her mother and aunt were. Her heart was racing because she didn’t know exactly what her father was going to say about the situation between her and Alexander. She knew for a fact that her father had a very bad temper, but he had always been quite accommodating with her. he didn’t like the fact that Alexander had come to his house not once but twice on account of her behavior, Mr. Anderson was not one to tolerate any form of disrespect from anyone. She remembered, watching as Alexander’s body shook with convulsions as the effects of her body and his allergy mixed together, and he almost died, all because she had agreed to use Ken’s bosses sick excuse for a sol

"You have seen the pictures. You also know what I can do with them.” Ken sat back in the chair, feeling bigger than the five foot eight inches man that he was. He crossed his arms, giving Hensley a look of triumph. Hensley had seen the pictures, he definitely knew what they contained. Hensley looked at Ken in the eyes, without budging. “So what do you want exactly? You wouldn’t go through this much trouble if you didn’t have quite serious demands.” Ken steadied his nerves, he had thought that Hensley would be the uncomfortable one between the two of them but now that he stared into Hensley’s eyes knowing what he was capable of, Ken couldn’t help but feel a bit scared. “I don’t need any money from you and I don’t want any cut in your profits. I have just one single request and that’s for you to attach my name as your assistant to the patent when you finalize the formula.” Hensley studied him as he spoke, respectfully waiting for the next part of the demand. He heard no responses.

“A perfume box is definitely not a gift for Aria,” Alexander’s voice stayed calm but there was a sternness to it. Lucas looked up from the perfume box they had just unwrapped. “What do you mean, Young Master?” Alexander looked at Lucas as he rested his hands on the table in the home office, he pointed to the gift, “Aria doesn’t wear perfume and according to what she told me, she never has.” Lucas frowned at the gift, “So we are a hundred percent sure that this package isn’t for the young mistress?” “As sure as the sun will rise. Aria would not order perfumes.” Alexander said. “Young Master, If it was a store, they’d have a return address so it has to be from someone, someone who doesn’t want to be identified or traced.” Lucas added.“This is meant for Frieda, probably the spray that Hensley sent to her.” Alexander said, taking a seat. “The bastard has guts, he’s trying to supply her with these perfumes right under our noses, to aid her cover.” Lucas said, fuming with rage. “How

Mandy sat in the guest room, looking outside at the pool. Across from her, Janet sat down on the bed, staring at her sister impatiently with her arms crossed. “We need to make fast moves,” Janet said, her voice sharp. “With every moment that Aria is alive, every second she remains as Alexander's wife is a very big problem for us.” Mandy exhaled, folding her hands. “I understand but this isn’t some small backwards town anymore. Janet, we’re in a major metropolis, everything we do leaves a trace.” “And so what? We’ve covered up others so this shouldn’t pose too big a problem.” Janet replied nonchalantly. Mandy shook her head. “Not like this. This is not twenty years ago. People weren’t walking around with mobile cameras. Streets didn’t have traffic cameras and the police weren’t tracking digital footprints the way they’re doing now. We don’t even need to slip up to get caught.” Janet sat forward, “So what’s your great plan? Neck if we can’t erase her completely from the picture, no

Alexander adjusted his cuff links as he got into his black SUV, checking his wrist watch for the time. It was three in the afternoon, Lucas slid into the seat beside him, scrolling through his phone. “We need to make progress today, we need to have something tangible.” Alexander said as the car pulled out of the Sinclair estate. “I agree, Young Master. There’s no time to waste, we’ve been a step behind now it’s time to switch things up.” Lucas said. The driver maneuvered the car smoothly through the city streets to Sinclair Enterprises Headquarters, in the heart of the financial district. Alexander’s security detail had already been alerted by Lucas that he and Alexander were on their way. They opened the doors for them as they stepped out, moving straight to the private elevator that led directly to the high tech security wing of the building otherwise known as the Tech Division. As they entered the wing, a team of data analysts, cyber specialists and intelligence experts straig

Frieda sat comfortably in the plush leather seat of the private jet, sipping on freshly squeezed juice that had been served to her in a pretty glass. A beautiful air hostess stood nearby, offering her anything she wanted, whether it was another drink or some fruits, anything she needed. This was first class and extra treatment, is this what Aria has been enjoying? I am in Heaven, she thought. Every time she took a look around, there was something else that she hadn’t seen before. This was the only flight she had ever entered with no turbulence, the extravagance was screaming off the roof. What truly amazed her was Alexander himself. He sat across from her, dressed in a nice tailored suit, and was reading off his tablets, some documents from work. He didn’t even look up at her. Frieda frowned slightly. Hensley had told her that he was really close to Aria so she had expected a lot more than he was doing now. She found consolation in the fact that Alexander had been doting on her a

Dr. Hensley stood over Aria, watching her as she lay unconscious. She tapped her fingers on the steel table beside her gurney. Her face was getting paler but there was nothing that he could do about that, he couldn’t let her wake up anytime soon. The intravenous drip that supplied nutrients was basically just to make sure that she was getting enough nutrients to stay alive and healthy to an extent. His phone buzzed on the work counter, he moved to pick it up, it was a text. “Alexander and I arrive tomorrow. Don’t forget the gift.” A smile spread across his lips, things were working out rather well. The only plan left was how to eventually exchange Aria for Frieda when he was done with her. Hensley checked the machines monitoring Aria’s vitals. They showed that she was steady, though she was noticeably weaker than she had been a short while ago. He wasn’t too concerned with her, she could last a little longer and as long as she was stable, he would keep up his work. The only thing
