As soon as Beth had told her mom what had happened, Sarah had then dragged her out to a mall for shopping, no excuses permitted. Guilt had set in and Sarah had light scolded her for giving in to her temper like that, but had also admonished her to do away with the guilt. After four whole hours of shopping, they proceeded to eat out and walk around the city for a while. The rest of the day turned out to be very fun and exciting. The next day, she went back to the coffee shop, confident and comfortable and she kept that mindset going. Her new clothes had been spot on and so far, everything was fine. Even for Wade industries. She'd seen it on TV. Oh well, Lucky him.
She was right. Later that day, he'd gone in as meekly as he could to his employees and had given a few of them free reign to tell him what they really felt. He was an asshole and a lot of heads had nodded to that. Turns out he really hadn't been listening and honestly, the amount of them who feared him, baffled him. Was he really that bad? After that day, he'd made a conscious effort to listen more and make himself a bit more approachable, without looking too lenient. The name tags vanished. A lot of new ideas had been brought forth investors and partners were liking it and trooping in. Also, he was learning the names of his employees. His ego had taken a blow..... but he couldn't have been more thankful to that italian spitfire. He had amazing minds around him. Minds that he hadn't recognized or appreciated enough. Four months later, company sales and productivity had gone up by a full forty-five percent. He was egotistical and he knew it now but really, what was a man without ego? He owed her his apologies too. After the news of the alarmingly breakthrough of the Wade Industry a day ago, Brandon was currently sat in his favorite bar with his best friends to celebrate. The day had ended early, with him allowing his staff an evening of celebration of their own. He'd known Steve, Simon, Brian, Bruce and Rosco since they were all kids but out of all, the one who was more like a brother and confidant to him, was Brian. Whatever he did, Brian knew the genuine reason behind it. Whatever Bruce, Simon, Steven and Rosco knew of him, Brian knew double. They drank and downed shots till the only one with an inkling of sense left was Brian."I can't believe you blew up this quickly," Bruce slurred, patting his back in congratulations."Better believe it." Brandon smirked."Hey, how about we celebrate with something?" Steven said."What?" Brian asked."A bet."They all groaned in their drunken states. Steven was very impulsive and enjoyed getting his way. They'd spent a lot of time as kids doing bets he'd brought up to satisfy their urge for fun and his own strange wants, but they'd surely spent more time paying for it. It had been fun back then. Not anymore."Really man?" Rosco asked."Your bets always get us in trouble." Bruce said, looking at Steven with distrustful eyes."Oh come on men. For the sake of celebration. Besides, when was the last time we had fun?" Steven placated."We're having fun right now." Brian filled in."Let's make it better. Brandon? What do you say buddy?"Brandon groaned, shaking his head, "Don't put me on the spot like that, bro. What do you have in mind anyway?""It's about a girl.""You're crazy." Brandon said, downing another shot."Fuck you, man." Rosco added."Hear me out first," he said, catching Brandon's gaze.Bruce's head shot up, "A girl?"Brian rolled his eyes and Rosco shook his head. Bruce was a sucker for women."Yeah. So, there's this chick thats proving too stubborn.""So?" Brandon asked."Do you like her?" Simon asked."She's very hot. Very hot." He emphasized. "You need to see her. I need to prove and get it out of my head that she's not as difficult as she makes herself out to be.""How?" Brian asked."It's either I get her or one of my guys do and what better man than Brandon himself.""You fucker," Simon mumbled."Heck no." Brian refused."Why not me?" Bruce pouted. Rosco slapped him upside the head.Brandon said nothing. Just stared Steven down. "You want one of us to fuck her, just to get it out of your head? Isn't that wicked?"Steven shrugged, swallowing a shot. "Since when did you care?"Brandon shrugged, "That's an actual person. What's in it for me?""Brand, you can't really be doing this." Brian spoke up."Don't do it..." Rosco warned."It'll get you in trouble..." Bruce warned."We're all loaded so money is out of it. How about, I name you the king of bets?" Brandon scoffed."Plus! Plus, I'll owe you. You can ask for anything you want, anytime you want."Now that... That was something. The part of Brandon that loved a challenge rose it's head. Brian and Rosco saw the look in his eyes and exchanged looks. "All to sleep with a girl?" Brandon rose a brow, a small smile on his face."You get free sex too. Seems to me like she'll be a freak in bed." Steven sat back, returning the smile."You're psycho, you know that?" Brandon responded.Steven shrugged, "Whatever. So, you'll do it?"The table went silent. Everyone looked to Brandon, knowing that he never went back on anything he said and knowing how drunk he was, Brian knew he'd regret it later."Brand, think about it. Don't do this..." Brian etched in, trying to reason with him.Brandon didn't take his eyes off Steven though. While a small voice shouted at him from within to not agree to anything, he quietened it and said, "I'll do it.""Fuck," Brian cussed."I hope you know what you're doing, man." Rosco voiced."I'm curious though. For you to be this interested Steven? Who's this girl?" Simon asked.Steven smirked, "You'll see."The next morning, Brandon woke up with a banging headache. He felt like his head was being gripped between two iron walls. He rolled over and watched the whole room spin wildly. Waiting it out, he sat up and dragged himself out to get some water. As he drank, bits and pieces of the previous night came to him but it was all in broken fragments. He managed to make some pancakes and bacon for breakfast, took some aspirin, and went back to bed. By the time he woke up, it was 3pm. He went into the bathroom to relieve his screaming bladder and returned to his phone ringing. The screen was alit with Steven's name.
"What's up?" He asked as he picked up, falling back onto the bed."You sound worse than I feel.""Lucky you.""Hold on, let me add the rest of the guys to the call."Brandon waited till he heard Brian, Simon, Bruce and Rosco's voices."We're all here. What's up, steve?" Bruce drawled."Just wanted to know if the rest of y'all remember the bet last night.""What bet?" Simon asked, sounding just as confused as Brandon was."I knew it was real!" Rosco suddenly exclaimed."Oh fuck. Steven..." Bruce drawled."What bet?" Brandon asked."The to sleep with a girl I find sassy.""The fuck!?" Brandon grimaced."Oh no. It's you, Brandon." Rosco said.Brandon frowned, "Excuse me?""Yup, you agreed." Simon drawled, sounding truthful."What bet? Brian?" Brandon called."They're right. I tried to warn you.""Me too." Rosco threw in."And me." Simon spoke."Steven, what the hell?" Brandon groaned out, running his hand down his face. Now that they were on the topic, he could vaguely recall something along those lines."No worries man, she's hot. She's not some dry chick.""I don't care about that. You need to grow up." Brandon scolded."After this. You already agreed.""Since we were all drunk, does it have to count?" Rosco asked."Brian remembers and so do you so yes, it does count.""If he doesn't do it?" Brian asked."His word won't hold water to me anymore.""That's not so bad. Brand, drop the bet. It's not worth it." Simon threw in.Brandon knew that betting on a girl was very wrong and every manner he had ever gotten drilled into him by his parents went against it, but.... He respected his word, no matter when they were spoken. "If I recall correctly, you owe me?" He asked."Dude, really?" Simon threw in."Brandon, stop." Brian said, sounding angry."This will fuck you up." Roscoe threw in."Negative much, Rosco?" Steven bit in."It's karma."Steven scoffed, "Relax guys, it's just a girl." Brandon was well versed in the feminine race to know that no girl was just a girl. But then, why did he want to do this? For his ego and nothing else."Deal." Steven hollered. Brian just scoffed. Rosco sighed. Simon told Brandon to think straight and even Bruce was annoyed by it but... Brandon's word was on the line here. He had to step up. After getting off that call, he went ahead to speak with his mom. Guilt already settled in him but he wasn't going back. The Saturday ended and Sunday went by in a flash.Brandon went to work on Monday, almost forgetting completely about the bet, that is, until his new P.A informed him that Brian was over to see him.Brian walked in to Brandon typing away on his laptop."Hey buddy." Brandon greeted."Yo. What's up?""Just finishing up an email." Brandon drawled, eyes focused on his screen. Brian helped himself to a can of coke he saw in the small fridge, and took a seat. Looking up after finishing with his email, he reclined in his chair."How's Sherlie?" Brandon asked.Sherlie was the only woman to have placed a dummy card on the smart Brian's forehead, thus, making her his fiancee."She's amazing. Out with her best friend. How are you?"Brandon could hear the other question under Brian's question."I'm going along with the bet."Brain only shrugged, "Okay."Brandon rose a brow, "Just okay?"Brian nodded, "Yup. You'll regret it later."Brandon smiled, "You sound so sure.""You have morals. Whether the regret will come before you bed her or afterwards, I know you'll regret it later and that's enough for me right now."Brandon dryly rolled his eyes, "I only feel bad now because of my morals. Nothing more."Brian nodded, "Okay."His carelessness pinched at Brandon. "What do you mean okay.""Back out of the bet.""I can't.""You can but your pride won't let you. You also are excited by this in a away."Brandon nodded, "I am."Brian only smiled. "Okay. So, who's the new assistant?""That's Margret.""Hey, if the girl that insulted you was right, why not look for her? You said it yourself that she was more qualified than your last assistant."Brandon shrugged."You don't have a copy of her file?"Brandon shook his head, "No. She was the last applicant for the day. I had had really good ones come in before her so I underestimated her. When I got her file...." He trailed off, shrugging. "I don't know."Brian narrowed his eyes. Brandon looked at him with straight eyes."What?""Brandon.""Yes?""Did you feel attracted to her in any way?""Excuse me?""That would explain why you obviously didn't remember to have it faxed or even emailed to you, at any time of the day." Brian enunciated.Brandon frowned, "I never forget."Brian scoffed out a mocking laugh, "You forgot and you know it."Brandon rolled his eyes and stood. Shoving his hands in his pants pockets, he casually walked to stand in front of his large floor to ceiling windows, staring down at the busy streets of New-York."Someone somewhere probably has a copy of it. Have it sent to you."Brandon said nothing."Tell me what you're thinking." "She's insulted me." He said, his voice taking on a tone of begrudging awe."And?""She looked above my public figure. No one has ever done that."The room was quiet with no sounds being made between the men. Watching a yellow cab zip down the road, Brandon turned around to see a knowing smile on Brian's face."You like her." He stated."I'm curious.""You like a woman. Actually like a woman."Brandon said nothing. "Now, I'm more satisfied.""Why?""You'll find her. I know you will. Imagine how she'll feel when she finds out you're playing with another woman like this..." "You'd really like that, wouldn't you?""Only too much. Back out of the bet."Silence..
"I won't."
It took a whole week for Steven to text Brandon and when he did, all he sent wasMeet me on king's street at 6.
On a Monday morning.Brandon slammed his car door shut as at the same time Brian did. They walked towards each other and bro hugged.
"He called you too?" "Yes. On a Monday morning," Brian added, slowly turning to look at Steven like he wanted to lunge for him. Steven was casually leaning against his bright yellow Jaguar. Upon Brian's look, he smiled and began towards them."Bros," he greeted."Let's get this over with." Brandon quipped, looking around cautiously. This was a rather cosy part of town with the tall buildings in front of several shops lined on the side, but one could never be too sure of the media and if nothing at all, they were a pain in Brandon's behind."Mind if we use your car?" Steven asked, looking to Brian."Sure."They made their way to Brian's metallic grey Mercedes CLS 450 and got in with Brandon in the passenger seat, Brian in the driver's seat and Steven in the back.
"Where to?""Nowhere. Now, we just wait."Brandon frowned. "Wait? Wait for what?""For her to come to work.""The girl you have in mind works on this street?" Brian asked, spinning around to look at Steven.Steven shot him a weird look. "Yes. Know someone from here?""Yes," Brian responded, feeling very uncomfortable."A girl?" Steven smiled."Yes.""Who knows? She just might be the one.""Don't play with me, bro. Don't." "Jeez bro, calm down. I was only kidding."Brandon watched Brian turn back to face the windscreen with a worried look on his face."Who's she?""Sherlie's best friend.""Beth?" Brandon asked. He'd heard about Beth from both Brian and Sherlie but had never met her. From what he'd heard, Beth was an amazing person, loved by both."Yeah."Brandon sighed. "What does she do here?""She works here."Looking at the shops scattered on one side of the street, Brandon asks, "Where?""Jackie's coffee shop," Brian responded, pointing at the coffee shop two shops away. Brian was about to say something else, before freezing and turning back to look at Steven."The girl... Where does she work?""The same shop." Steven said with an expression on his face that told just how seriously he was taking all this.Brian's heart began to beat faster."Describe her to me.""She's a- there she is."Both Brian and Brandon turned to the person Steven was pointing at. Brian blanched. Brandon froze. Steven looked between the two of them, gulping softly."Ms. West?" Brandon asked, watching the beautiful honey haired woman walk down the road with a jolly pep in her step.Brian turned to him. "What do you mean- wait...."Brandon looked to Brian, holding eye contact as the weight of the situation hit him."She's the one?"Brandon nodded. "She's the one."They both turned around to glare at Steven. He looked between the two of them, slowly inching his way to the door."Did you know?"Steven immediately shook his head, "I didn't, I swear. She's the woman who insulted you? Fuck. Well, take this as payback."Brian lunged for Steven. Brandon pulled him back, sending Steven a look that had him looking away."Do you realize that Brandon insulted her first!?"Brandon exhaled, dropping his head on the head rest.Fuck, this was so messed up.Brian turned to him, "Do you understand what position this puts me in with Sherlie? My best friend is playing her best friend."Brandon turned to look at Brian.Whatever he said wouldn't be an excuse. Guilt thawed at him. He just stared at him. Brian sighed, sitting back."I know you won't back out."Brandon said nothing. Steven tried to keep his victorious smile at bay."Beth is very different from other girls. Painfully innocent. You'll soon understand what I mean. I don't like this. Not one bit. I can't tell you not to hurt her, because I know you will. Just don't break her." Brian looked to Brandon, willing him to promise. It was the least he could do."I won't."Brian and Brandon held eye contact, before nodding at each other. Brandon watched Steven drive off before Brian. As Brian's car zoomed down the road, Brandon sighed to himself. What a twist.Brandon sat in his car, waiting and thinking. Beth was the woman who'd entered into his office, but barged into his head. His current interest. Brian's fiancee's best friend. Steven's crazy obsession. Brian's definition of the word, "Innocent."His bet. He had one question though. She was a very intelligent and brave woman. Why was she working in a coffee shop?As a car zoomed by, waking his drifting mind, he looked at his watch. The time showed 9:45 a. m.It was a good thing he'd dressed in his stoota black tracksuit set. He pulled his hood up, got out of his sleek black porsche 911 and took brisk steps to the coffee shop. As he entered, a bell rang above his head. He took in the busy place filled with business men and women, and slid into a secluded booth by the wall. The shop looked very stylish, yet, had certain touches of a throwback diner. Very smart design. Beautiful place. Just as he was about to pull off his hood, a woman came out the back, balancing two plates in her han
The shop was filled up by evening with teenagers and adults coming in. Brandon watched Beth weave between customers like a pro, with that smile on her face. She looked very happy to be of assistance. Actually happy. How many people did he know, who were genuinely happy to help? Beth couldn't help but watch out for Brandon and that annoyed her. He was supposed to go but he wasn't leaving. The fact that he'd said he was waiting for her, made her feel responsible for him. What he ate, where he sat, if he was feeling disturbed in any way and all of that. She felt responsible for him. What irked her even more was that Jackie had showed up, but had gone straight to Brandon and began talking to him like he was the YIN to her YANG. Due to the inflow of customers, Beth had to stay later then intended and all the while, Brandon watched her selfishly. She sighed as she turned the sign and stepped out with Brandon, locking the door. Her small phone showed that the time was 10:25 p.m. "You look
As they drove, Brandon would throw random glances at her, watching her look out the window with a smile on her face, enjoying the wind and view. Nymph."Oh yeah," she suddenly said.He curiously watched her pick her bag up and rummage through it. After finding what she was looking for, she dropped her bag and leaned towards him, tucking something into his pocket."What's that?" He asked."Your change," she answered. He glanced at her. Her face was a well of calm happiness."What change?""You gave me too much money last night. I used what I needed. There's the rest. Thanks by the way," she beamed up at him, then turned back to look out the window. Brandon was stunned silent. No one had ever...."How much was your cab fare?""A dollar and fifty cents,"He cast her an incredulous glance. At his wordlessness, guilt began to seep into her."But I paid two dollars instead because-""Don't explain. Elizabeth, a dollar? Where you told me to stop, it was around your house, right?"She nodded
Brandon froze. Brian casually threw his arm around Brandon's shoulder. "My very own best friend."Beth's brows rose. Wow. Her date was her best friend's fiancee's best friend. What a square."Okay. Beth and I have to talk about something. We'll be right back," Sherlie informed, taking Beth's hand and pulling her away."You're beginning to like him!" Sherlie squealed once they were a safe distance away. Beth sat down on the sand and pulled Sherlie down beside her."Why didn't you tell me you knew him when I told you?""I'm sorry, I was just very confused and hopeful, but wanted to see him first. Oh my goodness, Beth, I'm so happy. I think you're beginning to like him.""Why?""I know you hardly ever like people, but you let him take you to the water. Even I couldn't do that. You two looked really cute together, back there," Sherlie said, wiggling her brows suggestively.Beth chuckled. "He's pretty nice."Sherlie grimaced. "Trust you to use the blandest of terms. Just nice?""What would
Brandon battled with guilt almost every minute. He felt trapped. He had built such a strong foundation around his word. That was why Steven knew what to do to get him to do it, knowing whatever Brandon said, he backed up with his actions. He could tell her and Steven would be none the wiser about it, but... Honestly, he was scared. Beth was a very careful person. As happy as they were around each other, he knew he would be dumb to think he knew half of her. He knew she was starting to like him, but if she found out, she would leave without looking back.Brian saw the turmoil on Brandon's face and sighed, running a hand down his own face."I have an idea."Their eyes met."For now, forget about the bet."Brandon frowned.Brian exhaled. "You have a chance at something real. I won't let you spoil it-- even though you've already started to do just that. Continue the way you two are right now. A time will come where you'll start looking for ways to tell her the truth yourself, because you'l
Stepping into that board room had not been easy for her, especially since she was dressed in a jean skirt, a baby blue shirt and white tennis shoes. She had expected raise voices of distrust with questions directed at her loyalty and all of that, but with the way Brandon introduced her, there had been none of such. Brandon had done just that, then left her to carry out the presentation. She was more than a little startled and annoyed, but she pulled through and by the end of the whole thing, she was receiving friendly smiles and hand shakes. As soon as they stepped out of the board room, it was straight to evaluating. Brandon had other prescheduled things to attend to and had proceeded to set Beth up with another woman and a man from his team, Mrs. Bradford and Mr. Elliott, to assist her. Beth had a whole office to herself. One by one, members of his production and innovation teams started trooping in. After hearing them speak, in no time, she was able to pin point common ideas, and wh
Tracing a slash of red paint, she asked with awe,"Do you know how to ride?""Let's find out."She turned wide eyes to him. "Brandon-""I'm kidding." She narrowed her eyes in distrust."I promise I was kidding. I know how to ride.""Brandon, I'm too young to die. Or be on the food chain of water habitants.""Not to say that you would, but if you were to die, this would be a pretty sweet way, don't you think?"Her look turned murderous, "Brandon slot-in-middle-name Wade, if we die, I will hunt down your spirit in the afterlife and do my best to kill it. I don't want us to end up lying six feet under, with our mothers patting their faces wondering where it all went wrong under the snarling sky and cawing birds!" She spoke with gusto."Wow. What a colourful imagination you have," he said, slightly flustered."I'm not kidding. How many times have you done this before?""Only a thousand times."Not even the wind possessed the ability to change directions as quickly as her face went from gr
As they walked back to the car, Beth felt awkward. After they put the nylons in the trunk of the car, Beth was making her way to the passenger seat when Brandon said,"I need to get something. Mind if Elizabeth accompany me, Sarah?""Oh, sure, sure."Freezing up as he came up to her, he took a hold of her hand and began leading her away, no words exchanged. Instead of going into the store, he rounded it, taking her to the back. She didn't question him, though. The atmosphere was too tense for that. The back of the store was as quiet and lonely as she'd expected it to be, with only a narrow orange door as an exit. As soon as they got to the middle of the alleyway, he let go of her hand and turned to face her. She blinked up at him, feeling anxious."What?""Why did you go and do that?""Do what?""Pay for what you got.""Oh...." Her brows lowered. "What's wrong with that?""What's wrong with that is that we agreed on this last night.""We agreed that you get things for mom. Not me."Hu
EPILOGUE One year later Brandon had travelled exactly six months after the birth of his daughter, needing to complete the project in Australia and then another in Africa. They had made a habit of speaking over video calls every day, and while it was not what Brandon wanted, he still got to watch his daughter grow. He got to hear her say her first words and was even lucky enough to see her take her first steps. Bernice was one of those kids who maintained their hair and eye colors from birth and she was absolutely gorgeous. Every time he looked at his daughter and woman, he couldn’t help but feel so thankful and protective. What would he do when she was grown enough to start going out with boys? It rose his blood pressure just thinking about it. Beth was just happy she had had Brandon for the early stages because heaven knew that it hadn’t been easy. Bernice had turned one just two days ago and was already walking, howbeit unsteadily, pronouncing a few words, had a small set o
Brandon left a week later. Not being able to accompany him because her doctor had advised against it, and being fully aware that it was a five months long trip, Beth had spent numerous nights lying in tears and even more nights lying awake. Even though they spoke as much as they could over the phone and she fell asleep to the sound of his voice a lot of the time, it still wasn’t enough. Nothing beat his physical presence. At her eighth month, Jasmine and Byron had appeared at the house and bundled her and Lola away, much to Micah’s delight. Comforting herself with the fact that she was now an aunt, Beth took to caring for her new nephew, Malachi, Sherlie as much as she could. It was a welcome distraction herself from her loneliness, too. “Beth?” She had just put the sleeping Malachi in his crib. She turned and watched Sherlie enter.“There you are. He’s asleep?”She nodded, smiling.Sherlie had her hand and was pulling her out the next second. Beth rolled her eyes an
Dedicating a whole five minutes one morning to begging her not to do anything she shouldn’t and then going ahead to prepare her a healthy breakfast of steak and vegetables because she just absolutely loved her meat, Brandon finally went and got ready for work, then devoted another five minutes into pleading with her to eat and rest. As a plus, he had somehow gotten the eight months pregnant Sherlie to leave work and come spend time with her. That afternoon, she ended up fussing over Sherlie and lulling her to sleep. Sherlie’s pregnancy wasn’t a walk in the park either and as she neared her due date, extra care had to be taken. Though, how she escaped the horrible nausea and got to go to work and do whatever she wanted, Beth didn’t know. Lucky.Rebalancing on the feet, Beth heaved and planted her hands on her waist. Looking up, she licked her dry lips and sighed. It was further than it looked. Pulling in a deep breath, she pushed up on her tiptoes again and stretched up as far as she c
After throwing up that morning and sending Brandon a small, pleading smile, they relaxed together a bit and then went for the party. No sooner than her feet touched the ground of Brian and Sherlie’s home did a wave of dizziness, so strong and overwhelming, hit her. Somehow, she was able to strengthen her grip on the car door and avoid falling to the ground. Brandon was out of the car and beside her in no time.“Beth—”“I’m okay. I promise.” She took his hand and squeezed lightly. “I’m fine,” she reaffirmed, pleading with her eyes.He was going to haul her away and apologize later when Brian and Sherlie showed up.“Beth!”She turned and went to embrace her best friend and Brandon watched her go, glaring at her back. Smiling at the hugging women, Brian approached and extended a hand to Brandon. Brandon clasped it and pulled him in for a brotherly hug.“What’s wrong, man?”Brandon glanced at the women who were now making their way into the house practically glued at the hips and said, “S
Two years later…Brandon watched his sleeping wife with a worried look on his face. She had returned from work earlier looking rather pale and drained. When he had asked her what was wrong, she had given him a weak smile and waved him off. Mere minutes later, he’d found her asleep on the couch with her laptop open in front of her. His worry had begun when he had carried Beth, the usually light sleeper, up to the room and she hadn’t budge. Not once. Less than forty minutes later, Micah had called to ask how she was. Apparently, she had been sick in the office earlier, after which she passed out. After assuring Micah, Brandon sat, lost. Why hadn’t she told him? What was wrong with her?By the time she awoke three hours later, he already had dinner ready and waiting. Pulling her down on his lap at the dining table, he held her there and just watched her eat. Beth turned after a while and finally asked,“What’s up?” His silence was unusual. After observing her for a while, he sigh
Elizabeth pulled in a deep, sharp breath and froze as pain like no other whipped and tore through her. Her body revolted instantly and wanted the intruder out with a desperation that threatened to drive her mad. She wasn’t aware of the tears that had built up and were flowing down her cheeks until she felt a gentle thumb brush against it and cup it. Then, Brandon’s ragged breaths reached her ears.Brandon was beside himself with ardent shock and raw bliss. His strength had never been put to the test like it was then. He had thought the initial opening was tight, but then…“Fuck.”His jaw was clamped shut. His body trembled. She was so tight, it was almost painful. Everything within him roared so harshly, he had trouble breathing. Yet, he remained still, stretching the quickly thinning walls of his self-control. She clung on to him like a second skin, squeezing for all she was worth. He couldn’t tell where he ended and where she begun. So tight. So very tight.“Fucking hell.” Fighting
When Brandon woke up, the sun was on its way to setting and beautiful hues of pink, light brown and the palest purple decorated the sky, giving it an eye capturing glow. The light of the sky danced into the room through the open slide doors, accompanied by the gentle evening breeze, bathing the room in gentle lights even as the breeze lifted the transparent curtains, giving the room an ethereal, peaceful feel. It was a story book sight. One a photographer would love to capture. Absolutely gorgeous, yet, as extraordinary as it was, Brandon found himself sneered and captured by the nymph partially atop him. She moved in her sleep, grazing his sleep hardened manhood with her thigh, and he closed his eyes and let out a groan.“Sorry,” she mumbled. He opened his eyes and looked down at her. At the same time, she rose sleep softened eyes up at him and smiled.“Hey.”He returned her smile. “Hey.”“Did you sleep well?”She dragged her thigh over his bulge as he went to respond and watched hi
Looking at the door, she bit her lip in contemplation and, finally making up her mind, pushed the door open. The sound of water pelting the floor reached her ears and she paused, staring at the closed shower glass. He was taking a bath? Not knowing whether to stay or go, in the next few seconds, Beth just stood there and twiddled her thumbs in thought, deciding to be brave at the last second. Creeping to the closed shower doors, she glanced behind her once to check that the door was still open just in case she needed to bolt, then rose a small fist and knocked the glass. “Brandon?” Water kept pouring. Being able to make out his blurry form through the thick, wet glass, she waited and watched, squinting her eyes to catch a reaction. Resisting the urge to press her face against the glass, she relieved her eyes of the strain and settled for waiting. No response. Pulling and biting on her cheek wall, she glanced around and knocked again. “Brandon?” She counted down the seconds, but
The next day was claimed by work, bright and early. While that was a damper, Beth took it all in good stride. After all, she was a firm believer in doing anything to get what you want. While Brandon sat at his desk in his newly incorporated home office receiving calls, sorting faxed files and taping away at his laptop, Beth was with him every step of the way, being the perfect distraction. When she wasn’t helping him sort through his papers, she was playing with Lola, bending over, taking off items of clothing—because of the terrible heat—whispering in his ear what she could just say out loud, laughing softly, or just plain staring, and whenever he caught her, she would hold his gaze, smile and turn away.2 p.m. rolled around and deciding that he needed to see some people in person and get other things sorted, Brandon announced that he was making a quick trip to the office. Now, what kind of a wife would Beth be if she didn’t tag along? After ensuring that Lola had enough food and wat
