Chapter 887

Caroline turned and headed upstairs to the second floor. She had only taken a few steps when she stopped and turned to look at the door.

She did the same thing quite a few times before she finally returned to her room.

Even as she sat in front of her laptop, she couldn't stop herself from glancing at the window.

She knew that the familiar car wasn't parked outside, but she just couldn't let go of the hope in her heart.

Frustrated, she shut down her laptop, stood up, and walked to the balcony. She could see lots of cars passing by, but none of them was the one she wished to see.

She stayed there for a long time, staring down at the road below. Finally, her phone's ringtone snapped her out of her daze and back into reality.

She walked back into her room to see that the call was from an unknown number. Without thinking twice, she declined it right away.

However, soon after she did that, she received a text message from the same person.

The message read, "Mr. Y's in danger.
