Chapter 712

Caroline took a look at her phone and saw that Marietta was calling her.

She quickly answered the call. "Hi, Aunt Mary."

"Hey, Carrie. I'm calling to apologize," Marietta said on the phone. She had lost her usual high spirits and sounded very tired.

"What happened that day was Yvonne's fault. She shouldn't have treated you like that."

Caroline replied, "Aunt Mary, you don't have to apologize."

"No, Carrie. I won't feel at ease if I don't apologize."

Marietta forced a smile. "Caroline, you're a good person. I'm sorry for what you went through that day."

Caroline didn't say anything else, and Marietta remained silent as well.

However, she never regretted calling Marietta her mother because she finally understood what maternal love felt like after spending time with her.

"I'm going to bring Yvonne home the day after tomorrow."
